Until this time, most of the Arabs of “Palestine,” that area that had been part of the British Mandate, insofar as they had national feelings at all, had generally seen themselves as belonging to “southern Syria” (although a specifically Palestinian nationalism did exist to a small extent in the early part of the 20th century, particularly among Christian Arabs).

Azerbaijan made numerous statements leading up to the attack that Armenia had been provoking the Azeris with “subversive actions.” This accusation has been rejected by Armenia as misinformation.
Instead, Azerbaijan has violated the cease-fire several times since I have arrived in Artsakh at the end of June, including the shooting death of a 20-year-old Sergeant on Sept. 5.
Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on social media that Armenia would seek assistance from the United Nations Security Council, as well as the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has made several claims since 2020 that Armenian territory, including the capital Yerevan, rightfully belongs to the Azeris.
These Azeri claims and assaults on Armenia violate international law, but many Westerners only fault the Armenians.
Luke Coffey is a Senior Fellow with the Hudson Institute. Coffey’s social media posts display hypocrisy as he cheers for Ukrainian success against Russia’s invasion, but advises that Armenians capitulate to Azeri aggression.
In a previous article, I observed a similar policy with the Heritage Foundation who advises a greater alliance between the United States and Azerbaijan.

Now, there was no “law” yet, no Ten Commandments. We are told nothing of specifics, nor – at least in Genesis – on what basis such corruption could be identified.
In the Book of Enoch, there are further details. This book, apocryphal for all Christian traditions and denominations except for the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, begins by describing the judgment coming on all the earth, except for the elect who will be saved.

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO — In an effort to escape the wrath of a weaponized federal government, supporters of former president Donald Trump are placing Biden signs in their yards with the hope that it will cause the FBI to pass over their houses.
“Of all the different catastrophes plaguing the country these days, we expect these FBI raids to be the worst,” said Josh Wears as he hammered the post bearing the Biden sign into his front yard. “If we make it look like we’re devoted Biden followers, maybe the regime will have mercy on us and we’ll be spared.”
Fears have grown among conservatives as they have watched the Biden administration unleash a series of devastating plagues on the United States, including crushing inflation, oppressive gas prices, high unemployment, and rising taxes. It only stands to reason, some say, that new waves of FBI raids are imminent.
“We’ve heard about the great exodus of conservatives leaving places like California, so we need to be ready for anything,” Josh’s wife Monique Wears said as she hurriedly prepared some unleavened bread. “Placing the Biden sign in the yard is just one of the ways we can be prepared for the coming storm. Plus, Biden’s goons are probably dumb enough to be fooled by a yard sign anyway.”

For those who may not be inclined to trust “our free press” vis-a-vis the conflict in Ukraine (or any other subject), here are five takes on what’s happened lately over there, from the “Redacted” team, Scott Ritter, The World and We, Russian military journalist Alexander Kots, and Edward Slavsquat. Although they variously differ with each other, altogether they comprise a valuable corrective to the propaganda thundering from “our free press,” whose “coverage” of the conflict has relied on not a single correspondent on the scene, but (it would seem) entirely on the “journalists” in Langley.
This is not a denial of the propaganda coming out of Russia, or from commentators partial to the Russian government. There certainly is propaganda coming out from both sides, in this war as in every other going back (at least) to World War I; so we would all do well to heed George Orwell’s admonition (based on his own experience doing wartime propaganda for the BBC—a stint that fed his deft portrayal of the Ministry of Truth): “All propaganda is a lie, even when it is telling the truth.” Even when its “facts” are accurate, war propaganda, necessarily, is over-simple and one-sided; so we should not mistake it for the truth—i.e., the whole truth, and nothing but—just because we want it to be true.

According to the latest consumer spending data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Americans spent more money on taxes last year than on food, healthcare, education, and clothing COMBINED.
In 2021, taxes accounted for about 25% of average consumer spending, which outpaced the average spend for many essential categories for most Americans. During that time, each “consumer unit” – individual or combined household – spent an average of $16,721.42 on food ($8,289.28), healthcare ($5,451.61), education ($1,226.14), and clothing ($1,754.39) – clocking in just under the $16,729.73 average paid in taxes.
Although it has been the case that Americans have been paying more of their income to taxes than they have spent on these essential categories for several years, the BLS consumer spending index data from Biden’s first year in office paints a grim picture for the future, as inflation – even from the back-end of 2021 before Bidenflation really kicked into hyperdrive – forced Americans to spend more on everyday essentials in 2021 than years prior.
Furthermore, a deceptive “$400 reduction” in taxes for the average consumer is not all it seems to be. While the $16,729 mean tax for each consumer unit checks in slightly below the average tax bill in 2020, it only achieves the feat by being “offset” by an average stimulus payment of $2,541.71. In other words, the Average tax payments were around $19,270 – or $2,122 above what they were in 2020. This included a whopping $8,561.46 in federal income tax, $2,564.14 in state income taxes, $2,475.18 in property taxes, $5,565.45 in Social Security, and $105.21 in other taxes.
