BIDEN AND THE CARTELS: PART FIVE MIKE MCCORMICK
GENERAL KELLY AND THE CARTEL PRESIDENT
AUG 8, 2023 – The ugly human rights/national security crisis along our Southern Border, being that it is now overrun by drug smugglers and human traffickers, can be traced directly back to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, General John F. Kelly, and Honduran Presidents Porfirio Lobo and Orlando Hernandez.
Of that group, Kelly’s role in this dark chapter of our history is most baffling. As the general officer leading the Department of Defense’s Southern Command from 2012 through 2016, his job was to protect Americans and American interests.
Full stop.
But instead, he spent most of those years partnering with Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, a man he knew was enabling cartels to smuggle tons of cocaine into the United States.
And what happened to this general officer who looked the other way for the ObamaBiden administration’s cartel pals? He was promoted into the job of secretary of the Department of Homeland Security in President Trump’s administration.
All I can say is if the Deep State wanted to dump Trump, persuading him to hire Kelly as his secretary of Homeland Security and then shortly afterwards as his White House chief of staff was one of many ways they tried to do it.
After a distinguished career in the Marine Corps, General John F. Kelly assumed command in November 2012 of Southern Command (SOUTHCOM.) That put him in charge of military operations not only of Guantanamo Bay, but also of Central and South America, a region rife with drug trafficking and transnational crime.
Kelly’s promotion came at a sensitive time. Months earlier Joe Biden had a secretive meeting with the Vice President of Honduras during a 90-minute limousine ride from Soto Cano Air Base to the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa. Following that, Biden had another well publicized meeting with the President of Honduras, whom Biden knew was collaborating with cartel drug smugglers. I reported this in detail in a previous Substack.
One month after Joe’s Honduran visit, Operation Anvil was launched. It was an immediate, bloody mess in which U.S. government agents and corrupt Honduran special police killed Honduran civilians with attack helicopters and automatic weapons. The Honduran civilian outcry made it into mainstream media outlets around the world. So of course, there was a coverup managed by Deep State elements in the State Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA,) Central Intelligence Agency, and SOUTHCOM. That coverup lasted until just after Kelly left his command and retired from the military in 2016.
Joe and Barack never had to answer for the Operation Anvil scandal. Having Kelly leading SOUTHCOM was partly why.

De Maistre’s moral interpretation of politics admits of exceptions, but the United States in 2023 is not one of them. A wasting tide of bad education and corruption is rotting the cultural and constitutional piers that, since the Civil War, have kept the US above the waters of chaos.
The American regime has become a tawdry theatrocracy in which political actors, hypokritai in Greek, play stock characters in a loathsome farce. In the run-up to the 2024 elections, Donald Trump stars as the persecuted saviour, and Joe Biden the righteous defender, of the American republic. Never mind that Trump is self-absorbed and impulsive to the point of criminal stupidity, that Biden is senile and evidently corrupt, and that both of these braying, boorish old men are fraudsters and fabulists. These vices do not matter to their furious followers, who love their man precisely because he is not the hated other. Trump and Biden cannot, and will not, be separated; each needs his opponent as the hammer needs the nail. And above the wretched spectacle sit a click-hungry media, feeding on riot and picking favourites like vulturous pagan gods.

August 8, 2023 – From the beginning, the Biden regime has wanted to render Donald Trump politically dead. Now they’ve opened the possibility of death of a more physical variety. With their latest kangaroo court charges, their bête noire now faces the death penalty. Yes, that’s right: drug dealers, murderers, and rapists walk free in blue cities all the time, but a former president and current presidential candidate who dares to stand up to the political and media elites could now get the big sleep.
It has been clear from the beginning that the indictments of Donald Trump are brazenly political, designed to discredit the Biden regime’s principal political opponent to the extent that he either cannot run again in 2024 or is so tainted in the eyes of the American people that it doesn’t matter whether he runs or not. A principal part of this strategy has been to exaggerate misdemeanor charges into felonies and split what would in ordinary circumstances have been one charge into many, such that Trump has now been charged with no fewer than seventy-eight felonies that could get him hundreds of years in prison. Or even, now, execution.
Breitbart reported Tuesday that “Special Counsel Jack Smith’s indictment Tuesday against former President Donald Trump for his role in attempting to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election includes several weighty felonies, including one for which death may be a penalty.”

That was David Garrow, author of the 1460-page Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama, in a recent rambling interview with Tablet’s David Samuels headlined, “The Obama Factor.” Barack Obama is the author of Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, published in 1995. On page 537 of Rising Star, David Garrow writes:
“Dreams from My Father was not a memoir or an autobiography; it was instead, in multitudinous ways, without any question a work of historical fiction. It featured many true-to-life figures and a bevy of accurately described events that indeed had occurred, but it employed the techniques and literary license of a novel, and its most important composite character was the narrator himself.” (emphasis original)
“He wants people to believe his story,” said Garrow, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Bearing the Cross. “For me to conclude that Dreams from My Father was historical fiction—oh God, did that infuriate him.” Samuels, who writes for Harpers, the Atlantic and New York Times Magazine, countered that “the pose of being a writer is actually one that he prefers in many ways to being a politician.”
“Oh God, yes. Yes, yes, yes,” said Garrow. “He doesn’t want the writerliness challenged. It’s my story and I’m sticking to it. The book [Dreams] is so fictionalized.” And it “completely omits women. I’ve always thought that there’d eventually be a feminist critique of Obama because his mother and all the girlfriends—they’re not there. They don’t exist.”
As Garrow reveals, the Dreams author wrote to Alex McNear, his girlfriend at Occidental College, “about how he repeatedly fantasizes about making love to men.” But there’s more to the man who is “not normal,” such as the question of his provenance.
Garrow’s go-between with president Obama was lawyer Bob Bauer. “Whatever you do,” Bauer counseled Garrow. “Don’t ask him about his father.” In the Dreams novel, the father is the Kenyan Barack Obama, a student at the University of Hawaii. The Kenyan “bequeaths his name” to the American and by the end of the novel he becomes a nameless “old man.”

A certain ex-president wields more power than we thought
AUG 7, 2023 – In The Spectator, I write about an obvious explanation for why normalcy is absent from the Joe Biden administration.
One of the big questions in Washington and across the country as Joe Biden’s very public decline has accelerated is: who’s actually running the show at the White House? There have been various answers, including Ron Klain and Susan Rice; even Doug Emhoff has been touted as having outsized influence. But the one name we ought to be paying more attention to is obvious — the man who cleared the 2020 field for Joe, tapped Kamala as his running mate and now hosts regular meetings at his 8,000-square-foot house just two miles from the Oval Office he used to occupy: Barack Obama.
Last week’s publication of an interview with biographer David J. Garrow by David Samuels in Tablet magazine went viral for a number of hot-button reasons, but this is the actual headline takeaway Americans ought to have for the piece: they’re living through Barack Obama’s third term. Samuels draws attention to this point particularly in the context of foreign policy:
The rest of the year, [Obama] lives in a large brick mansion in Kalorama. Doesn’t it strike you as weird that he’s an ex-president, he’s comparatively young and he’s living in the center of Washington, DC? The original excuse was that Sasha had to finish school. Then you could say, “Well, the opposition to Trump needs a figure to rally around.” But now Sasha has graduated from USC, Trump is gone, Joe Biden was elected present, but he’s still there…
Doesn’t that strike you as odd? I mean, I have heard from more than one source that there are regular meetings at Obama’s house in Kalorama involving top figures in the current White House, with Secret Service and cars outside. I don’t write about it because it’s not my lane. There are over a thousand reporters in Washington, and yet there are zero stakeouts of Obama’s mansion, if only to tell us who is coming and going. But he clearly has his oar in.
I don’t follow the Iranian stuff super, super carefully, but I have been puzzled at the Biden administration’s continuing attachment to the Iran deal.
The easy explanation, of course, is that Joe Biden is not running that part of his administration. Obama is. He doesn’t even have to pick up the phone because all of his people are already inside the White House. They hold the Iran file. Tony Blinken doesn’t.

Aug. 7, 2023 7:30 am – In a recent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, former President Donald Trump quietly confirmed the analysis and comments made by Dr. Jan Halper-Hayes during a recent interview.
Halper-Hayes, a former Global Vice President of Republicans Overseas UK, made headlines with her statements during an appearance with a British morning news show, Breakfast with Stephen and Ellie, last Thursday.
Halper-Hayes pushed back against the widely held belief that Trump’s case is based solely on political conspiracy theories, arguing that there are significant questions about election integrity that require attention. She further contended that the current indictment has inadvertently given Trump a platform to present his case and expose possible election irregularities.
During the interview, Halper-Hayes claimed to be part of a Department of Defense (DoD) Task Force, asserting that Space Force had evidence proving the fraudulent nature of the 2020 election.
According to Halper-Hayes, Trump had chosen not to disclose such evidence early to prevent civil unrest, believing it could lead to a civil war.
“I sit on a task force at the Department of Defense, and the thing is, they’ve got the goods. They’ve got the goods. And Trump knew that if he presented any of the goods early on, we’d have a civil war, that he really felt that the people needed to see how bad it could get,” said Halper-Hayes.
“See, the thing is, think about Edward Snowden and all the information he had. Think about the fact that our military, our Department of Defense Space Force, if you think that they don’t have the actual real results from the election, then you’re fooling yourself,” said Halper-Hayes.

Why didn’t the West negotiate an Austrian-style neutrality deal with Russia?
AUG 6, 2023 – The Canadian writer and journalist, Aaron Maté, just published what strikes me as the most intelligent and illuminating conversation about the war in Ukraine I’ve heard thus far.
I have studied European history for forty years and lived in Austria for a total of 15. For the last 18 months I have tried in vain to answer the question: Why didn’t the United States at least try to negotiate with Russia for an Austrian-style neutrality deal for Ukraine?
Consider that if a neutrality deal was struck and the Russians subsequently violated it, THAT would be clear grounds for war. Instead, the United States government has simply and and steadfastly dismissed Russia’s view of the matter—a view that Russia has plainly and repeatedly stated since at least 2008.
Note that the arrogant and dismissive attitude of the U.S. government towards Russia since 2008 was in spite of the fact that Cold War eminences such as George Kennan urged the United States government to abandon its harebrained NATO expansion plan in 1997. As Kennan put it in a February 5, 1997 New York Times essay titled “A Fateful Error:”

Jack Smith’s indictment essentially charges Trump with not accepting the Federal Government’s view of “truth.” There is no limiting principle to this indictment. The government would decide which politicians we are allowed to believe. To bag Trump, Jack Smith will have to bulldoze through the First Amendment and a line of Supreme Court cases. That’s why this latest indictment of Trump isn’t just wrong. It is reckless.
