23. New York Times Op-ed on Holy Weekend: ‘Let’s Get Rid of God’
The New York Times published an op-ed Friday that proposes eliminating belief in God — as one of the holiest weekends of the year begins.
Titled “In This Time of War, I Propose We Give Up God,” the article claims that God is responsible for “war and violence” and for “oppression and suffering,” and suggests that people stop teaching children about Him.
Author Shalom Auslander, who is disillusioned about his upbringing in a religious Jewish community in New York, argues (original emphasis):
“God, it seems, paints with a wide brush. He paints with a roller. In Egypt, said our rabbi, he even killed first-born cattle. He killed cows. 22. Man on Disability Welfare Accused of Faking Blindness After Being Caught Looking at Woman’s Bottom
A 60-year-old who claimed to be blind and received around €30,000 from 2014 to 2018 from the Italian state is accused of faking his disability after being caught looking at a woman’s bottom.
The 60-year-old, who lives in the northern city of Turin, was out of his home when the Italian Guardia di Finanza, Italy’s financial police, caught him looking back at a passing woman in March of 2018 to catch a glimpse of her bottom, despite the man claiming to be completely blind.
Local prosecutor Gianfranco Colace has indicted the man for pretending to be blind and pocketing €29,740 (£24,619/$32,186) of taxpayer cash over the course of four years between 2014 and 2018, the newspaper Il Giornale reports.
It is unclear how the man was able to fool the medical experts who would have had to sign off on his disability and allowed him to collect the government cash, as the man was declared completely blind.

This airstrike took place, hitting Mariupol.”

Unfortunately, after 3 years of threats, the local police recently stormed the Church and blocked it off from its Priests and parishioners openly calling those who consider themselves part of the canonical Church persona non-grata’s. Pray for the Priests as many of their fates are still unknown.
