Update(1545ET): During Nancy Pelosi’s brief visit to the self-ruled island of Taiwan, China’s government issued an alert telling commercial airlines to avoid airspace near Taiwan as it kicked off live military drills that essentially choked off maritime areas surrounding the island – drills coming even within 12 nautical miles of the Taiwan coast (conventionally considered “terrotorial waters”). State-run Xinhua also reported that China is conducing joint Navy, Air Force and rocket drills just off Taiwan. And more ominously Global Times said the PLA is preparing to send rockets over the island of Taiwan. As also Axios recapped:
- The alert describing six areas in the region as “danger zones” notifies airlines of flight restrictions due to the military exercises from Thursday at 12 noon until 12 noon Sunday Hong Kong time, per Bloomberg, as officials in Japan also expressed alarm at Beijing’s plans.
- China’s government also moved to block imports of citrus fruits and frozen mackerel from Taiwan in retaliation for Pelosi’s trip, AP reports.
Taiwan’s Defense Ministry described the latest PLA actions as essentially a “maritime and aerial blockade.” Meanwhile, Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson observes that “48 Chinese military aircraft, mostly fighter jets, have now buzzed Taiwan over the past two days.” A little less than half of these were reported by Taiwan’s defense ministry as having crossed the “median line” – which it should be recalled Chinese state mouthpiece Global Times said has now ceased to exist.

I can clearly see that Social Security and Medicare are political scams, and since I must depend on both at the age of 72 and with no other source of income I have no other option. I am too disabled to be able to work and what little I had set aside was stolen by the regime of the ineligible usurper barak obama with his collapse of the stock market in 2009. I paid into the twin scams for 50 years and still pay $170 per month out of my social security check for medicare. I get a physical examination once per year but have not received any other medical procedures since going on both plans. At $170 per month I am paying $2040 per year for a physical the doctor charges less than $200 to perform. To add insult to injury, social security runs a month behind. The payment I receive in February is for the month of January and if I die on February 28 the government takes that money back so my family loses that money.

This as PLA military drills surrounding the self-ruled island are reported to be ongoing, including ‘live fire’ exercises.
According to a readout in state-run Global Times, “China’s Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng summoned US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns overnight to protest against US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan island late Tuesday night, stressing that the nature of Pelosi’s visit is extremely vicious and the consequence is very grave. The Chinese side will not sit idly by.”
Further GT writes, “Noting that the US government should have restrained Pelosi’s unscrupulous move and prevented her from going against the historical trend but instead indulged her and colluded with her, which exacerbates the tension in the Taiwan Straits and seriously damages China-US ties, Xie said the US must pay the price for its own mistake. China will take necessary and resolute countermeasures and we mean what we say.”
This “pay the price” warning will likely only be revealed in full, in terms of the options Beijing has in store for both Washington and Taipei, in the coming days or even weeks after Pelosi departs tomorrow.

One of the main functions of the Vaad, as has been made clear, was to facilitate the immigration of rabbis and yeshiva students under a special nonquota project recognized by the U.S. Department of State. This program enabled them to come to the U.S. under “4(d)” and “4(e)” regulations. To qualify under section 4(d), a rabbi had to have been practicing in the rabbinate for at least two consecutive years preceding admission to the U.S. and seeking entry to the U.S. to continue this vocation. Wives and unmarried children under the age of 18 could accompany or follow him if the Consul concluded the rabbi could support them on the salary he was guaranteed in his contract. The contract had to be signed by the congregation employing the rabbi, with an attached notarized report verifying the congregation’s ability to fulfill the monetary requirements of the contract.
Legitimate students at least 15 years old who wanted to study in an accredited academic or religious institution in the U.S. could be admitted under section 4(e), noted historian Bat-Ami Zucker. Since they were to be in the U.S. for a limited period, they had to prove that they had sufficient funds to sustain themselves. The students also had to prove that when their studies were completed, they would return to Europe or go to another country, but not remain in the U.S. Nonquota immigrants “were not subject to numerical limitations.”

SSF recorded 2,692 rock attacks, 577 Molotov cocktail attacks, 542 incidents of roadblocks with burning tires, 178 attempts to blind Israeli drivers with a laser, 33 explosive charges, 41 arson incidents, 30 attacks with fireworks, 25 bottles of paint thrown at vehicles, 21 rock obstacles on the road, 14 shooting attacks, one vehicular attack, and seven thwarted stabbing attacks.
159 Israelis were injured in rock attacks, including 98 civilians, 40 soldiers, and 21 policemen.
The Shin Bet security service recorded 189 terror attacks in June, including a shooting attack at Yosef’s Tomb in Shechem (Nablus) in which three Israelis were injured.

The Defense Department reportedly erased data from the phones of top departing agency and Army officials at the end of the Trump administration, deleting texts from potential witnesses to events related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
The effort is being reported by CNN, based on court filings and following questions about the Secret Service having deleted texts and other digital messages from Jan. 5 and Jan. 6 of 2021 in a pre-planned data-transfer project.
CNN reports the acknowledgment that the phones from the Pentagon officials had been wiped clean of such data was first revealed in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by watchdog group American Oversight against the department and the Army.

Maricopa County had 106,588k voters show up Tuesday to vote in-person. Of those, a record breaking percentage voted for the GOP. In Arizona, anyone registered as an “Independent” can show up to the polls and request either a Republican, or Democrat ballot. In Tuesday’s Primary, 80.0% who voted in-person selected a Republican Party ballot. Only 23.4% used the Democrat ballot. This is obviously great news, but the county’s mail-in ballots are 10 times this amount. The charts below provide various details.
As of April 2022, the makeup of active registered voters in Maricopa County is 34% Republican, 30% Democrat, and 34% Independents. Out of the 31,318 registered “Independent’s” that showed up, 73.95% asked for a Republican ballot. Only 23.4% asked for a Democrat ballot. That’s considered a BLOWOUT! In the right side graph below, the pink at the top are those “Independent” voters who asked poll workers for a Republican ballot. The dark red are registered Republicans.

Indiana GOP Rep. Jackie Walorski died Wednesday in a car accident in her home state along with 3 other people, according to local news reports.

Walorski was in the car with her communications director Emma Thompson and her district director Zachery Potts when they collided with another vehicle around 12:30 PM.
The driver of the other vehicle, who was driving alone, was killed as well.

On Tuesday morning, soldiers, volunteers and nearby residents witnessed the removal of a Pina Chama – Hebrew for a ‘warm corner’ – one of several spots in Gush Etzion where IDF soldiers can drop by for a cold or hot drink with a snack.
These refreshment stations are manned by volunteers who welcome the soldiers, offering them a respite from their stressful duties. Cakes, cookies and other goodies are mostly baked by local residents. Often, on special occasions, like Israel’s Independence Day, these stations host barbecues and other celebratory events, strengthening the morale of the soldiers.
The station that was removed Tuesday was situated outside the community of Nokdim. The order for its removal came from the Civil Administration, which is under the Ministry of Defense, headed by Benny Gantz.

But when it comes to Arab building that is completely illegal and without a permit in Area C [under full Israeli control], it stays up, Josh Hasten, International spokesperson for Gush Etzion, told World Israel News.
“That’s the bottom line,” he said. “When it comes to Jewish structures, Defense Ministry Benny Gantz, who heads the Defense Ministry, which oversees the Civil Administration, has no problem coming in without asking questions and taking down buildings, even if it means that the soldiers serving the area will not get their hot cup of coffee or cold drink. They’re taking down a warm corner for IDF soldiers adjacent to a community in Gush Etzion instead of taking down the thousand and thousands of illegal Arab buildings. This is the reality we’re living in.”

The Trump administration threatened to withhold its veto on UN sanctions if then-prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu unilaterally annexed Judea and Samaria, Jared Kushner wrote in his about-to-be-released book, “Breaking History: A White House Memoir.”
The Americans had been sympathetic to the idea, with a team working with Israeli officials on a detailed map of where sovereignty could be extended, according to Trump’s son-in-law and then-senior adviser. However, the administration also wanted Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians.
“Our message resonated,” Kushner wrote. “Bibi [Netanyahu] wasn’t getting annexation for free. Israel needed to give something in return.”
The suggestion was made to give them “tangible life improvements,” such as greater civil control over some areas in which they lived. Netanyahu rejected the idea.
At that point, Kushner wrote, U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman not only told the prime minister that he was “hanging on a thread by Trump,” but that “there was no guarantee that our administration would block the international sanctions against Israel that might follow” if Netanyahu followed through on the demands being made by the sovereignty supporters in his coalition.
