5. House passes bill nixing $72 billion in funding for 87,000 new IRS agents By Victor Nava
January 9, 2023 10:55pm – In one of the new Republican House majority’s first legislative moves on Monday, the body passed a bill rescinding $72 billion in spending on 87,000 new IRS agents.
House Resolution 23, or the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act, passed the lower chamber in a 221-210 vote along party lines.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced during his first address as speaker early Saturday that the funding for new Internal Revenue Service agents provided under the Inflation Reduction Act enacted last year would be one of the first bills the new Congress takes up.
“This was our very first act of the new Congress, because government should work for you, not against you,” McCarthy wrote on Twitter. “Promises made. Promises kept.”
4. Trump Attempted To Undermine The Leverage Of The Heroic House 20 Along With Conservative Inc.
January 10, 2023 – Pedro Gonzalez of Chronicles Magazine takes President Trump behind the woodshed for his role in protecting Kevin McCarthy from the House Freedom Caucus during the speakership battle.
“The fact is we know that by the second day of voting… according to Lauren Boebert, she … gave that speech where she said that Trump had been calling members of the 20 telling them to ‘knock it off’ and vote for Kevin. In other words, Trump was trying to undermine their leverage because those concessions, all of this stuff, was not extracted from Kevin till much later. So I think it’s really important to set the record straight, what the House Freedom Caucus did … was nothing short of heroic.”
3. House Passes Resolution Creating Committee to Investigate China By Joe Hoft
January 10, 2023 at 7:00pm – Republicans are keeping their campaign promises after winning the House majority, voting Tuesday to establish two new investigative panels – one targeting the Biden administration and the Justice Department and the other on China.
California Rep. Kevin McCarthy agreed to the creation of both committees as part of his concessions to win the speakership.
- The first is a select subcommittee on “the weaponization of the federal government” that will investigate actions of the executive branch. Republicans say the subcommittee will also focus on the Department of Justice’s search of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in August.
- The second is a select committee aimed at increasing the United States’ competitiveness with China.
Jim Jordan will lead the committee on the weaponization of the federal government. He gave a great speech identifying that he will look into the federal government’s attacks on American’s first Amendment rights.
2. BREAKING: House Republican Files Articles of Impeachment Against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas – After 5 Million Illegals Cross Open Southern Border By Jim Hoft
January 10, 2023 at 6:00pm – DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is one of the most destructive and dishonest government officials in US history.
Under his watch, the US logged in over 5 million illegal aliens crossing into the country through the open southern US Border.
Alejandro’s response to the crisis of record human and drug trafficking has been to consistently lie to the American public about the seriousness of the situation.
Mayorkas continues to lie about the open border with Mexico insisting the border is secure – a complete lie.
But now Mayorkas may finally have to face up to this man-made disaster.
House Republican Pat Fallon (R-TX) filed impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
It can’t happen soon enough.

And we’re going to do that,” Jordan said on Fox News Sunday. “We’re going to do it in a way that’s consistent with the Constitution. But we’re going to do it vigorously. We’re going to do it aggressively. Because that’s our job.”
Congressman Jordan went off on Democrats over the government weaponization from the House floor on Tuesday.
Jim Jordan blasted Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler and Merrick Garland on Tuesday.
