If a certain terrible HBO series were still on, people would be saying, “Winter is coming.” The show is gone, but winter still is coming. Netflix has been hammered, Facebook took a serious beating, but even Amazon, the most economically solid of the FAANG gang, is not immune from catching the economic cold.
Amazon is planning to lay off approximately 10,000 employees in corporate and technology roles beginning this week, according to a report from The New York Times. Separately, The Wall Street Journal also cited a source saying the company plans to lay off thousands of employees.
Shares of Amazon were down about 2.5% on Monday.
The cuts would be the largest in the company’s history and would primarily impact Amazon’s devices organization, retail division and human resources, according to the report. The reported layoffs would represent less than 1% of Amazon’s global workforce and 3% of its corporate employees.

Let’s Replace the Term ‘National Unity’ with ‘Majority Rule’ RUTHIE BLUM
nce his formal consultations with each party in the Knesset came to a close on Friday, Israeli President Isaac Herzog was left with no choice. Although he tried to persuade everyone involved in the post-election protocol to display a greater degree of “national unity” than the results of the Nov. 1 vote revealed, he arrived at two unavoidable conclusions.
The first was that it would definitely be Likud chairman Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu he’d be tasking on Sunday with forming the next government. The second was that the ruling coalition would, as Netanyahu had vowed, be a “full, full, right-wing” one.
There was no getting around the fact that Netanyahu received many more recommendations than Interim Prime Minister Yair Lapid. The numbers spoke for themselves: 64 in favor of the former; 28 for the latter.
This might appear odd to anyone who believed the polls that had indicated a virtual tie between the Netanyahu and “anybody but Bibi” camps. There are 120 seats in the Knesset, after all. So, the math doesn’t seem to add up.
The reason for the confusion is that the constantly touted societal split down the middle was a fiction all along. Though it’s true that two rounds of elections produced no government; a third resulted in a short-lived Netanyahu-led national-unity rotation government with Benny Gantz; and a fourth ended with an unprecedented maneuver that launched the premierships first of Naftali Bennett and then Lapid, the chaos was created by politicians bent on removing Bibi as an obstacle to their advancement.
Unable to defeat the longest-serving prime minister in the country’s history at the ballot box, they sought other means to get him out of the picture. Ironically and to their dismay, however, even indictments for bribery, fraud and breach of trust didn’t put a dent in Netanyahu’s popularity.
While members of the public who never supported him held hysterical weekly “Crime Minister” demonstrations, his backers—labeled by left-wing elites as “baboons” and worse—were only more convinced of the bogus nature of the charges and the motive behind them.
This particular rift was and still is real. Yet it’s nowhere near the whole story.
Contrary to the media hype of the past three and a half years, Netanyahu is not the metaphorical equator that separates two comparable hemispheres. With or without him at the helm, the bulk of Israelis are on the right side of the spectrum, and consider Likud the center.

I’m hoping this plan by Leo Donofrio has legs. I’ve only heard parts of it so far but everything sounds pretty good so far. I’ll be talking to him on today’s show.
I took some heat last week when I said they were trying to steal Arizona. Some had pointed out that the votes had barely been counted at that point and that a landslide for Kari Lake and Abe Hamadeh as well as wins by Blake Masters and Mark Finchem were still likely. As I said then, the signs were in the air before the first vote was officially counted that the fix was in, the steal was happening, and a week or so after the election we would find out in disgust that our candidates allegedly lost.
On today’s episode of The JD Rucker Show, I am visiting with Leo Donofrio, an attorney from New Jersey who has done the research necessary to come up with a gameplan should the elections in Arizona get stolen. From what I’ve heard so far, it’s a solid plan. Hopefully he’ll be able to lay it out for us and give us a direction about how to move forward. Lawfare may be our only recourse and unfortunately Republicans are far behind Democrats in that arena. It’s time to get better at it in a hurry.
The plan, as I understand it now, is that since the Maricopa attorney admitted there was the potential for voter fraud with the broken machines and since voter sentiment is leaning toward lacking trust in the results, Arizona has a method through which a single voter (though preferably more) can challenge the results and get the election annulled. It does not require proving voter fraud nor does it require proving intent. The circumstances need to be demonstrated that enough voters do not trust the results for good reasons, and considering the election day debacle in Maricopa County, they should have ample reasons to be disenfranchised.
Here’s What the GOP Can Do Right Now to Make Sure No US Election Is Ever Compromised Again
As Revolver has repeatedly pointed out, Republican state legislators should be rallying behind President Trump, and pledging to appoint a pro-Trump slate of electors to the Electoral College if they are not adequately convinced the 2020 vote was fair and free of fraud.
Instead, state-level Republicans are doing nothing. Perhaps they are convinced that no fraud occurred. The truth, of course, is that America’s electoral system is a mess, and it is nearly impossible to detect or prevent competent fraud.
Republicans only have themselves to blame for what happened in the 2020 election. And whether Trump succeeds or fails in his legal challenges over the 2020 election, the party has an obligation to make sure this mess never repeats.
For the past decade, Republicans have been handed victory after victory at the state level. The party has had undivided control of a majority of state legislatures after every single election since 2010. Entering this year, they controlled thirty. In the key 2020 swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Texas, and Florida, they have controlled both houses of the state legislature for the entirety of the past decade. In every single one of those states, Republicans also controlled the governor’s mansion for at least four years. In Georgia, Arizona, Texas, and Florida, they had total control of the state government for the entire decade.
Power is useless when it isn’t used. Yet when it comes to elections, Republicans wasted their power, and allowed Democrats to create the situation the prevailed in 2020, the situation that may have let a presidential election be snatched away from them.
For years, Republican efforts to prevent voter fraud have focused narrowly on requiring voter ID. Meanwhile, Democrats seized upon the 2020 coronavirus to create a massive national mail-in and early voting system, all while stripping voter fraud protections to a bare minimum. Beyond any doubt, they will try to repeat this system in all elections to come, even after the coronavirus is long gone.

On Monday, the High Court of Justice was scheduled to hear a petition submitted by the far-left NGO Peace Now, arguing that Israel’s land allocation policy in Judea and Samaria is discriminatory. The petition focuses on Givat Eitam (Eitam Hills) in the city of Efrat in Judea. Referred to as the “E2 project”, 7,000 apartment units are planned to be built on the 306-acre plot of land, doubling the population of Efrat which now has about 11,500 residents.
Peace Now claims to be filing the petition on behalf of more than a dozen Arab residents of Bethlehem. In the petition, Peace Now is demanding land allocation for Palestinian construction in the area in which Efrat’s Givat Eitam neighborhood is planned to be built. Unlike many of its other claims brought against construction by Jews, this petition does not state previous ownership by Arabs as Givat Eitam is state land. The petition rather argues that Israeli construction will infringe on future construction by Arabs. It claims that Israel’s policy of land allocation discriminates against Palestinians.
“The decision to allocate the A-Nakhla lands for the purpose of expanding the Efrat settlement is illegal, immoral, and immeasurable in a way that screams to the heavens,” said Peace Now.
“The implementation of this plan will severely harm not only the Palestinian landowners and the ability to develop the Bethlehem area, but also the ability to reach a future peace agreement and territorial succession for a future Palestinian state,” it further said. “This decision should be removed from the world and the land should be allocated for Palestinian development in the area. We will fight so that the High Court judges do justice.”
Regavim, an NGO that monitors illegal construction in Judea and Samaria, emphasized that the land in question is defined in Oslo Accords as Area C and is therefore intended for settlement by Israelis.

Bidenomics: Amazon to Fire 10,000 Employees as Early as This Week Jim Hoft
The world’s largest online retailer, Amazon, will begin laying off 10,000 employees in corporate and technology roles beginning this week, according to a report from The New York Times.
According to the report, the layoffs would be the largest in Amazon’s history and would have a massive effect on the company’s devices unit – including the voice-assistant Alexa, as well as the retail division, and human resources departments.
About 3% of Amazon’s corporate staff and less than 1% of its global workforce will be affected by this decision.

The State Department says it will not comply with a government watchdog’s investigation into how more than $1 billion in U.S. taxpayer funds was spent in Afghanistan since the Taliban terror group retook control of the country.
The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), a government watchdog established in 2008 to perform oversight on America’s $146 billion reconstruction project in the war-torn country, announced that for the first time in its history, the State and Treasury Departments will not comply with its investigations.
“SIGAR, for the first time in its history, is unable this quarter to provide Congress and the American people with a full accounting of this U.S. government spending due to the non-cooperation of U.S. agencies,” the watchdog disclosed in its latest report to Congress. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which allocates American aid, “and the Treasury Department refused to cooperate with SIGAR in any capacity, while the State Department was selective in the information it provided pursuant to SIGAR’s audit and quarterly data requests.”
SIGAR says the Biden administration’s refusal to cooperate with its investigation into the allocation of $1.1 billion in taxpayer funds since the Taliban regained power constitutes a “direct violation” of the watchdog group’s congressional mandate. The administration also is withholding evidence related to the collapse of the U.S.-backed Afghan government, as well as information about whether the State Department is complying with laws prohibiting the transfer of American funds to the Taliban. “No federal agency has challenged SIGAR’s authority to conduct oversight of such programs until now,” the watchdog agency said….
