Over 56,000 left without power as tornadoes rage through Kentucky, governor says.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has said that 70 people are likely to have died from the tornado ripping across the midwestern and southern US, but that the death toll may have already reached 100.
“This is going to be some of the worst tornado damage that we’ve seen in a long time. This is likely to be the most severe tornado outbreak in our state’s history,” WLKY quoted Beshear as saying early Saturday.

Tornadoes ripped through the Midwest last night causing major damage and at least one death.
Penn Live reported on an Amazon facility outside of St. Louis:
At least one person died and two people were transported to the hospital by helicopter following severe weather damage at an Amazon facility in southern Illinois, a police chief said.
Edwardsville Police Chief Mike Fillback said at a news conference Saturday morning that at least one person had died at the warehouse, and crews continued to search through the rubble.
Tornadoes also hit elsewhere across the Midwest.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon said Friday that there are “active discussions” within the department about making the COVID-19 vaccine booster shots mandatory for service members, even as thousands refuse or seek exemptions from the initial shot requirement.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said there have been no final decisions on the matter, but added that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin “absolutely encourages people, if they can and if they qualify, to get the booster. But right now there is no requirement for it.”

EPA has included a lot of tricky stuff in how the proposal is made. First, this is what is called a “holiday rule making” which EPA is famous for. The comment period is just 60 days long and it spans the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays.
Second, most major proposals consist of just a few documents. Typically just the proposal itself plus a technical support document or two. In this case there are a whopping 184 different documents, with no time to read them all.
