Anthony Fauci said Thursday that the omicron variant will likely be dominant in the U.S. in “a few weeks” and warned of the possibility of hospitals being overwhelmed this winter.
He added, though, that people who are vaccinated, and especially those who have their booster shots, will be “relatively well protected, at least against severe disease,” saying he is most worried about the unvaccinated…
…”Besides the toll of suffering and death which will inevitably go up if in fact we have that convergence in the winter months of flu and omicron and delta, we could get our hospital systems overwhelmed,” Fauci said, noting that health workers are already exhausted after almost two years of fighting the pandemic.

At the initiative of Defense Minister Benny Gantz, work will be carried out to recruit hundreds of additional IDF soldiers to the police for staff positions in order to add hundreds of police officers to the Judea and Samaria District. 9. What do Jews believe about the afterlife?
Less than half of American Jews believe there is a heaven or a hell; not all that surprising, since that half also does not believe in a higher power or spiritual force of any kind.
It was the great Joseph Burg (1909-1999), onetime religious affairs minister, who coined the phrase, “Midvar seker tirchak,” stay away from surveys – a play on words of the Torah commandment, Midvar sheker tirchak – stay away from falsehood. But a rather interesting survey recently appeared that caught my interest and bears examining.
The Pew Research Center reports that a majority of adults in America – 73% of those surveyed – say they believe in heaven. At the same time, a majority (62%) say they also believe in hell. While a quarter say they don’t believe in either heaven or hell, only one in six Americans don’t believe in any kind of afterlife. Religion, obviously, plays a major part in what one does or does not believe and so, not unsurprisingly, only 3% of atheists believe there is a world after this one, as opposed to 96% of evangelicals who are sure they are moving on.
And as for us Jews? Naomi Lloroff, a 13-year-old girl from an Orthodox Jewish community in Buenos Aires, had gone missing on Wednesday afternoon.
After reporting her disappearance to police, the family recalled that she had been communicating through TikTok with a person identifying as Said Fanaya, a teenage boy from Bolivia.
She was found Thursday in a Muslim home in Bolivia and taken back to her family.

A nine-year old Jewish boy abducted and carried off by a London, UK teenage gang was later “dumped” in a front yard where he was found crying.
Security footage shows the boy walking home from school in the heavily Jewish Stamford Hill area of London when he is accosted by five people slightly before 6 p.m.
One of the gang picks him up and runs across the road out of the range of the camera.
Chaim Hochhauser, of the Stamford Hill Shomrim, said that the boy is so traumatized by the incident that he is afraid to go outside by himself, the Daily Mail reported.
According to Hochhauser, the group of 14 to 16-year olds calls itself the “Webb Estate Gang” and has been terrorizing Jewish children in the neighbourhood for over a year.

4. Yehuda Dimentman was the victim of terrorist shooting outside Homesh
The 10 bullets that sprayed the car outside Homesh in northern Samaria on Thursday night, Dec. 16, killed Yehuda Dimentman, 25, yeshiva student, and injured two other students in the car. He is survived by a wife and 9-month-old baby. Three IDF battalions, scouring northern Samaria for the two Palestinian gunmen, have detained several suspects for questioning.
The driver Aviah Entman, who survived the attack, reported that as soon as the gunshots were heard, he raced the car towards Shavei Shomron, while calling for aid. The terrorists are believed to have laid in wait for their victims in bushes outside Homesh and then opened fire at close range.
While Palestinian knifing and car-ramming attacks have escalated in recent weeks, this was the second terrorist shooting attack. On Nov. 21, a Hamas gunman in the Old City of Jerusalem murdered killed South African-born Israeli tour guide Eli Kay, 26.

Rule of thumb: when people who never subjugate their will to God invoke His name or His word to promote something, whatever they are promoting is antithetical to His will. They are blaspheming God’s name to whitewash evil.
For the last year we’ve been told that the crapcines are a gift from God. The technocrats, politicians, and marketers behind these messages are among the most godless people on earth. They worship money, power, and many dark things, but never God. They don’t attribute anything good in their lives to God, nor do they submit to His word. If they ever make a show of devotion, you can be sure there are cameras filming it.
Yet suddenly they are claiming God is behind the world-saving scientific achievement they want to drive into our bodies every few months forever. The same people who deny God created the world and humanity, who deny that God alone sustains all life, who deny that God established immutable laws of nature and morality that must be observed, who deny that God sees everything, knows everything, and judges everything – these same people are now crediting God for their own pharmaceutical creation.
Quite a chutzpah.
