A Note on Chanukah

Last night, Jewish people the world over will commenced the first of eight days of celebration for the miracle of Chanukah.
The “Festival of Lights” is acknowledged by lighting a candle on the menorah for each of the eight days. Each night, a new candle is lit until the eighth night when the holiday concludes.
The history of Chanukah and traditions surrounding these eight nights are filled with joy and light, and represent a true miracle.
Chanukah recognizes a particular tempestuous period in history and is one of many periods of time when Jews have been persecuted.
Around the year 200 B.C. the Land of Israel fell under the control of Antiochus III of Syria.
He allowed the Jews to practice their religion openly and without fear of persecution.
Sadly, Antiochus III’s son, Antiochus IV, was much less open and accepting of the Jews and their traditions.
He ordered the Jews to worship Greek gods and in time his soldiers took control of Jerusalem by annihilating thousands of practicing Jews and defiled the Holy Temple by erecting an altar to the Greek god Zeus and sacrificing pigs within the Holy Temple walls.
In time a large scale offensive against Antiochus IV erupted; led by a Jew named Mattathias and his five sons; one of whom was Judah Maccabee and upon the death of Mattathias, Judah Macabee led the Jews in their struggle to restore the open practice of their faith. Within no less than two years the Macabees had successfully driven the Syrians under control of Antiochus IV out of Jerusalem.
Judah and the Macabees were finally able to see the fruits of their laborious rebellion!
Eventually Judah Macabee commanded the Jews who fought alongside him against Antiochus IV’s forces to cleanse the second Holy Temple and restore it to its prior religiously significant place of reverence and worship to G-d.
However, one potential problem arose; there was only enough olive oil to keep a candle in the menorah burning for one day.
Miraculously G-d aided the Jews by ensuring that the oil last for eight nights rather than one.
And this is why we call this holiday the, “Festival of Lights,” and “The Miracle of Chanukah.”

Ever wonder why there are so many Muslims and Muslim countries in the world? Over the millennia many countries were conquered, but didn’t remain Persian or Greek or Roman as the case may be. But, the countries conquered in the name of Islam, became and remained, Islamic. For example Pakistan, part of India, and Malaysia were Hindu; Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Egypt and N. Africa were Christian; Afghanistan was Buddhist. They are all Islamic now.
This transformation was not by chance but by design. All these countries were conquered by force then shorn of their wealth and many of their women. Then the Muslim conquerors introduced Sharia and continued fighting the local inhabitants. The inhabitants were either forced to convert or accorded Dhimmi status. As time went on all cultures submitted and eventually became Islamic.
The advance of Islam was finally reversed in Spain and stopped at the Gates of Vienna in 1683. Thereafter the power of Islam went into decline but other than Spain, it never lost its hold on the people it conquered. This decline was reversed in the Twentieth Century when Arabs became wealthy as a result of their vast oil reserves. This wealth was then deployed to conquer the west, by Violent Jihad or by Stealth Jihad.
This design was referred to as The Islamic Doctrine. It consists of Koran (14%) which stipulates that “there is no god but ALLAH and Mohammed is his messenger”, Sira, Mohammed’s biography (26%) and Hadiths, traditions, (60%). There are two different Korans combined into one, the Mecca Koran and the Medina Koran.

Donald Trump’s collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has sold out in a matter of hours, with the “digital trading cards” now worth more than $500,000.
The former president was widely mocked for announcing he would be making a “major announcement” on Thursday, which was later revealed to be an NFT collection portraying him in guises such as a superhero, cowboy and astronaut, which could be bought for $99.
Despite this, the entire collection of 45,000 NFTs featuring Trump has been minted in around 12 hours, according to OpenSea data, with nearly 14,000 people purchasing one or more of the online tokens.
As of early Friday morning, the total Trump NFT collection currently has a value of around 460 Ethereum ($570,000).
Ahead of the launch of the NFTs, some predicted that Trump’s “major announcement” could be him naming who his next running mate will be, or making a shock move to run for the White House in 2024 as an independent.
Instead, Trump revealed he has moved into the NFT game and urged his supporters to buy his Trump Digital Trading Cards, which he described as “very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting.”
“Would make a great Christmas gift. Don’t Wait. They will be gone, I believe, very quickly,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The money from the sale of the NFTs will not be used for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, according to the Donald Trump Digital Trading Card website.
“These Digital Trading Cards are not political and have nothing to do with any political campaign,” it said.

The opportunity came courtesy of Ericsson, the Swedish telecommunications giant, which sponsored the “Ericsson Limited Edition 5G & IoT” (Internet of Things) patch program.
The program, still available on at least one Girl Scout website, targets all age levels, from Daisies (kindergarten-age Scouts) to Ambassadors (those in high school), with an array of activities intended to “introduce Girl Scouts to 5G and the Internet of Things.”
These include watching “Explaining 5G to Kids,” a five-minute video featuring Mats, a bearded Ericsson employee, as he chats with Siofra, Freya and two other squirming but charming children, who speak English with what sounds like hints of Swedish accents.
Mats explains that 5G is a “new technology for the mobile phone. So everything will be much better.” He explains that the technology could allow the kids’ toys to connect. “Wouldn’t that be cool?” he asks. “This is what Ericsson is doing,” Mats explains. “This is what 5G can do.”

“UPON CONSIDERATION of the application of counsel for the applicants, IT IS ORDERED that the November 15, 2022 order of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, case No. 1:21-cv-00100, is hereby stayed pending further order of the undersigned or of the Court. It is further ordered that a response to the application be filed on or before Tuesday, December 20, 2022, by 5 p.m. (EST),” the court document stated.
