COMMENTARY / OPINION

Israel’s ground incursion won’t look pretty, but let it be  Rabbi Prof. Dov Fischer

This is an article I wrote two months ago, shortly after the Oct 7th massacre, and it is more true today than ever. Opinion.

Jan 1, 2024, 7:34 PM (GMT+2)

Oct. 22, 2023 — Israel next faces the compelling existential urgency to undertake a very horrible ground invasion into Gaza. Had she done it fifteen or even ten years ago, it would have been like the way Ariel Sharon crushed the “Palestine Authority’s” PLO and Fatah (same thing) in Jenin and throughout Judea and Samaria (the “West Bank”) in 2002 during Israel’s “Operation Defensive Shield” that substantially ended the Second Intifada.

But Prime Minister Benjamin (“Bibi”) Netanyahu, encouraged by the higher IDF echelons, later chose an approach Israelis came to call “mowing the lawn.” Instead of fiercely responding to terror by land, Israel would aerially bomb strategic Hamas targets in Gaza to set them back by approximately three years. Every Triennial or so, the cycle would repeat: Hamas would launch a war, and Israel would “mow the lawn.”

Recall that Israel handed all of Gaza unilaterally to the Arabs and Abu Mazen (the “Palestine Authority” chief, Mahmoud Abbas) in 2005. The Gaza “occupation” ended 18 years ago. Gaza’s population responded, not by creating the thriving “Singapore” they were encouraged to build, but by electing Hamas to uproot Abu Mazen’s “West Bank” Fatah terrorists, effectively demonstrating that Gaza and “the West Bank” are two completely different entities, not one “unified Palestine.”

Two decades and six wars later, the policy of “lawn mowing” has allowed Hamas to build an unprecedented nationwide terror infrastructure of tunnels, sniper nests, drone and missile factories, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Russian Cornet and Iranian Dehlahvieh anti-tank missiles, rockets and bombs. Gaza is worse than Faluja or Afghanistan. Eighteen years of Israeli dallying, and fearing worldwide condemnation if she would invade Gaza, allowed Hamas to build a Bora Bora meticulously. This means many Israeli boys will not come home alive from Gaza or may be permanently disabled during the imminent ground war. It will be a ground invasion that, no matter how successful, will be horrible.

Standing up for national unity and national survival, despite the Supreme Court  Caroline Glick

Israel’s outgoing Supreme Court President, like her dwindling camp of post-Zionist elitists on the left are less concerned with Israel’s survival than protecting their power and privilege.  Op-ed.

Jan 1, 2024, 7:57 PM (GMT+2) – (JNS) – Oct. 7 shattered the founding myth of the so-called peace process with the PLO—that there were “extremists” and “moderates” on both sides.

A lot has changed in Israel since Oct. 7, but a lot has also stayed the same.

What has changed is exemplified in the actions of the Kalmanzon brothers, members of the religious community of Otniel in the South Hebron Hills, on Oct. 7, whose father heads the Otniel Hesder Yeshiva.

On Oct. 7, Elhanan Kalmanzon, a reserve major in the Commando Brigade and a Mossad officer, realized almost immediately that Israel was being invaded. He organized the security team in Otniel and messaged his brother Menachem. It was Simchat Torah, a holiday on which observant Jews do not drive or message, but in Judaism, saving lives overrides every other Torah commandment.

“I’m packing up and going south. The nation of Israel needs us. Our brothers need us,” he wrote.

Menachem joined Elchanan, and with their brother-in-law Itiel Zohar Horovitz, they drove down south, ending up at the gate of Kibbutz Be’eri.

Be’eri was one of Hamas’s primary targets for slaughter. Ninety-seven members of the small farming community were butchered that day. Greeting them at the entry gate were terrified residents.

Progressivism, post-Zionism

Be’eri and the surrounding kibbutzim were founded by hardcore Labor Zionists. They believed that the Jewish people would liberate themselves from two thousand years of exile and powerlessness, build their state and secure their freedom into the future through hard work, hard fighting and collective farming. They aspired to build a Jewish socialist state.

Over the years, as they became prosperous, their socialism dissipated. Zionism, it seemed, had finished its job. Socialism was superseded by progressivism, Zionism by post-Zionism.

Like the residents of neighboring kibbutzim, Be’eri’s members believed in coexistence with the Palestinian Arabs. They thought the biggest threat to that coexistence was people like the Kalmanzon brothers, who are religious and live in Judea or Samaria. They believed in the founding myth of the so-called peace process with the PLO—that there were “extremists” on both sides. The supposedly “moderate” PLO ruling Fatah faction had its “extremists” in Hamas. The “moderate” Israeli elite, of which the kibbutzim outside Gaza were very much a part, had its “extremist” religious Zionists, otherwise known as “settlers.” To reach peace, the “moderates” on both sides had to defeat their “extremists.”

Oct. 7 shattered that illusion. Hamas didn’t slaughter the people of Be’eri and surrounding communities on its own. It was joined by Fatah terrorists and thousands of “civilians.” These Palestinian “moderates” were full participants in the atrocities committed that day. They called Be’eri residents “settlers.”

On the other hand, the people who arrived at the scene to save them, unbidden, were the Kalmanzon brothers from Otniel who were supposed to be their enemies. Since the ground operation began in Gaza, 45% of the soldiers killed in action have come from the religious Zionist community whose members comprise only 10% of the overall population.

Shift in the ideological landscape

The slaughter of Oct. 7 provoked a radical shift in the ideological landscape in Israel. On the left, the revision was led by the refugees from Be’eri and the other kibbutzim that were subjected to Hamas’s one-day genocide, and saved by men they had seen as their greatest foes.

The Supreme Court

During the 10 months that preceded Oct. 7, the most polarizing issue on the national agenda was the question of the proper role of the Supreme Court in Israel’s democratic system. For the past 30 years, in a series of groundbreaking decisions, activist, progressive and post-Zionist Supreme Court justices led by retired Supreme Court President Aharon Barak enacted what Barak referred to as the “judicial revolution.”

The Netanyahu government that entered office in late December 2022 was pledged to reform the judiciary in a manner that would restore the court’s position as a co-equal branch of government. Justice Minister Yariv Levin presented the government’s exceedingly limited program of reform weeks after being sworn in. His speech provoked a ferocious response.

Aharon Barak spoke of civil war and so incited one. Barak’s successor, Supreme Court President Esther Hayut, stopped just short of declaring war on the government and its supporters. The furor they stoked quickly penetrated the IDF officer corps and intelligence services as officers in elite units signed letters pledging not to serve under the Netanyahu government.

When the deep state speaks, we should listen   LEO HOHMANN

A key slice of predictive programming was sent on Christmas Even from a longtime globalist mouthpiece

JAN 1, 2024 – I’ve been predicting for some time that 2024 would be a year of great upheaval, with the potential for civil unrest, and even civil war, reaching the point of five alarm bells.

I penned my first article voicing my concern about a coming civil war on April 23, 2018 and it was based on something I witnessed first-hand in my hometown of Newnan, Georgia. That article was titled Newnan, Georgia: A harbinger of the coming American civil war?

There have been many more articles since then pointing to the growing divisions in our society, fostered by globalist elites in the media, government, the corporate world and even in our churches.

Fast-forward to late December 2023, and now even the mainstream media is making similarly dark predictions. There’s even a Hollywood movie, called Civil War, which will be released in U.S. theaters on April 26.

But the subject of this article is a Christmas Eve segment on CBS Face the Nation, in which veteran corporate-media reporter Catherine Herridge, who until 2019 worked 20-plus years as the chief intelligence correspondent for Fox News, gave what she called a “dark” prediction for 2024. Watch below.

A Response to Victor Davis Hanson, et al. – In 2024, Can We Please Be Honest?  By Jim Hoft

Jan. 1, 2024 8:00 am – It’s 2024. Can we please be honest?

Victor Davis Hanson, one of the legendary conservative thinkers of our time, released Part 1 of his series – “Who are the Real Insurrectionists?” on his X account at 10:31 PM on Sunday night as the clock winded down on 2023.

Victor starts his series by describing the latest actions by Maine Secretary of State and former ACLU activist Shenna Bellows.

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows just ordered Trump’s name removed from the primary ballot in May. She claimed he is guilty in her view of “insurrection”—a crime Trump has never been charged with, much less convicted of.

Her evidence, mostly gleaned from popular news accounts and video reports, would not stand up in a court of law.

Bellows has no law degree. She was appointed by a majority vote of the Democratic-controlled Maine legislature, not through a popular ballot. Her legal expertise seems to be derived from years of political activism with the ACLU.

We can see where the ultimate trajectory of this usurpation is going—once a single official decides to remove the leading primary and general election candidate of the opposition from the ballot by fiat. Tit-for-tat will likely follow and would unwind the republic.

Take Bellows’ action and then apply it to any future candidacy of Hillary Clinton…

Maybe Victor forgot what year this is and what we just all witnessed in 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020, and the last four years before that.

We are not witnessing a “tit-for-tat.” That is NOT the reality of our American lives today.
How we WISH there was a tit-for-tat! That would be a step up from where we are and have been!

Victor, what we are actually living through is all ‘tit’ and no ‘tat.’  [Emphasis added]

Frontpage Magazine’s Man of the Year: The IDF Soldier   by Daniel Greenfield

In a year of defeatism and surrender, he is fighting back.

December 29, 2023 – In a year when the civilized world is stuck in a state of retreat, he is fighting back.

Under Biden’s leadership, America has been invaded by hordes of millions of migrants, and Europe continues to stagger under an endless wave of migration from the Muslim world. That’s why American and European cities are being torn apart by rioting mobs supporting Hamas.

But after Israel was invaded on Oct 7, it fought back. The men on the front lines are not the politicians or the generals, they’re among the 360,000 reservists activated in a nation with a Jewish population of 7 million who left behind their homes, families and jobs to go and fight.

The Israeli military was unprepared for both Oct 7 and a call-up of this size. The soldiers were fed, clothed, and equipped by the people. While the media reports on the fighting, the truly incredible unreported story is how civilian volunteers have become the supply and support (the ‘tooth-to-tail’) of the Israel Defense Forces or the IDF.

In a small country, volunteers have been bringing food every day, they have provided clothes, shipped in body armor and even showed up with washing machines on pickup trucks to do the laundry. Some civilian volunteers have been wounded and even killed while delivering food. Israeli housewives have formed the Baking Battalion to make cookies, a cooking school produces meals for the troops and restaurants operate free food trucks. Others have stepped in to harvest crops and run the shops of the reservists who have been called up to serve in Gaza.

When the government and the leaders failed, the ordinary Israeli stepped up.

Some armies call themselves the “people’s army”: IDF soldiers really are. They’ve gone into Gaza knowing that the country stands behind them, not as an ideal, but as an everyday reality. Israel is a small country and everyone knows someone who died, came under attack, is among the 200,000 who left their homes to be out of range of the terrorist attacks, or in the ranks of those who are fighting or who have already fallen in defense of their nation.

Israel today reminds me of New York City after September 11 where for a brief shining moment everyone except the worst leftists pulled together against a common enemy. That spirit may well pass in Israel as it did in America, but while it lasts, it is something to admire and emulate.

Islamist mobs rampage around Manhattan and our elites celebrate Hamas, but the Israelis woke up after one terrible day and decided that they wouldn’t take it anymore. They rejected the dogma that fighting doesn’t work and they went to war. And far more than their own country is riding on the outcome. Nation after nation has surrendered to the Jihad, appeased it, and accepted the lie that Islamic terrorists can’t be defeated and fighting back only radicalizes them.

America accepted Islamic terrorism as the new normal, now we’ve accepted Muslim mobs smashing up our cities as the new normal. What new horror will we accept next?

The Israeli soldier is in the field fighting against this corrosive mainstreaming of evil. He is at war not only with the reality of Islamic terror but the idea that we are defenseless against it. That is why we all have a stake in what happens thousands of miles away. Gaza is not a territory: it’s a state of mind. There are Gazas in the ‘no-go zones’ of England and France, forming in Michigan and emerging in New York City. It is not a question of whether our war will come, but when.

For now we can still pretend that a 7th century madman’s book doesn’t affect us.

American soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq all too often had to ask why they were there, no Israeli soldier in Gaza ever has to ask that question. Such questions end when the war comes home.

We’ve become used to wars that are abstractions, geopolitical policy decisions to change a regime or protect the international order, but that’s not what wars are like in Israel.

It’s a one hour drive from the hyper dense Tel Aviv metropolitan area to Kibbutz Be’eri where Islamic terrorists carried out some of the worst atrocities on Oct 7. The thousands of Jihadis, some on pickup trucks with mounted machine guns, had orders to keep going until they reached Tel Aviv. They didn’t get that far, but they did make it to Sderot, a town of 27,000 and they attacked Yad Mordechai just down the road from the city of Ashkelon.

It’s a six hour trip along Israel. On the narrowest points, it’s walkable. In wartime, there is no ‘over there’ in Israel, it’s all ‘over here’. IDF soldiers are not fighting for the international order or to nation build anything: they’re traveling hours to the north to protect their homes.

“Humanitarian Aid” to HAMAS Must Stop!   The Caroline Glick Show

December 28, 2023 – Is the “humanitarian aid” being sent to Gaza reaching ordinary Gazans or being entirely stolen by Hamas? Has Israel gone too far to protect “innocent” Gazans and sacrificed its soldiers in the process.

Caroline interviews Chana Katan and Gal Carmeli two members of Mothers of Warriors who shared their stories and demands from the government. Mothers of Warriors is an organization of women who had or have children serving in Gaza and making demands that humanitarian aid be stopped.

The Obsession with Two-State Solution   By Alex Grobman PhD.

19 Tevet 5784 – December 31, 2023 – Have you ever wondered why President Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron and other world leaders are fixated on the Two-State Solution? A question rarely asked is: Do the Arabs want a two-state solution?

From the time of the British Mandate in Palestine (September 29, 1922, to November 29, 1947) to the present, numerous British, American and European government commissions and official emissaries have come to the region to investigate the underlying causes of the Palestinian Arab/Israeli dispute. Academics and journalists have added their own analyses.

“A Conflict of Irreconcilable National Aspirations”

When the Palestine Royal Commission (Peel Commission) recommended partition in July 1937, the Arabs immediately repudiated the British plan. A Joint Memorandum of January 6, 1947 submitted to the British Cabinet by the British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Secretary of State for the Colonies found the Arabs “implacably opposed to the creation of a Jewish State in any part of Palestine, and they will go to any lengths to prevent it.”

On February 6, 1948, Jamal Husseini, representing the Arab Higher Committee (AHC), the central political organ of Palestinian Arabs in Mandatory Palestine, wrote to UN Secretary-General Trygve Lie that, “The Arabs of Palestine…will never submit or yield to any Power going to Palestine to enforce partition. The only way to establish partition is first to wipe them out—man, woman and child,” which is precisely what the Arabs had planned for the Jews.

“Gerald L.K. Smith in a fez,” the infamous antisemite, is how Bartly Crum, a member of the 1946 Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, referred to Jamal. “But I know it went deeper than that,” he said, “this man Jamal was not petty rabble-rouser; he was one of the Arabs’ most influential political leaders.”

How Do the Arabs in Judea, Samaria and Gaza View Palestinian Arab-Israeli Relations and the Peace Process?

Arab World for Research and Development(AWRAD) found “the majority of (59%) strongly supported or (16%) supported to some extent the October 7 attacks carried by the Hamas, while 16% supported to some extent. 11% reported that they neither supported nor opposed the attack, while 13% expressed opposition to the attacks. Strong support for the attacks was notably higher among Palestinians in the West Bank (68%) as compared to Gaza (47%).

Gute Nacht, Europe. Guten Morgen, Eurabia   Giulio Meotti

1000 migransts enter Germany every day, And a Budestage member admitted their culture does not disappear when they cross the border.   Op-ed.

Dec 30, 2023, 11:30 PM (GMT+2) – Jens Spahn is one of the leaders of the German CDU, a long-time member of the Bundestag (since 2002), former state secretary (2015 to 2018) and former minister (2018 to 2021) under Angela Merkel.

“There will be a risk of a ‘terrible awakening'”, Spahn said in the most dramatic speech by a political leader of the German establishment. The “country could tip over,” Spahn says. “It is above all the cultural area influenced by Islam in which hatred of Jews, incitement against gays, non-equality between men and women are too often part of everyday culture. There are not many Muslim majority countries where people of other faiths have an easy life. Or (where) women have equal rights or gays and lesbians somehow enjoy minority protection. So they just don’t exist. And that also has to do with the culture”.

“We currently have 1,000 migrants entering Germany irregularly every day. A thousand every day, and many of them have been influenced by this culture. That’s where they grew up. It didn’t disappear just because they crossed the border. In my opinion , many people were not aware of the magnitude of the task at hand when hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of people come to us from such a characterized cultural area.”

“One percent of the world’s Afghan population lives in Germany. I have been to Afghanistan three or four times. Some parts of the country are medieval and this has left its mark. Now there are also people who are fleeing from this Middle Ages, and yet we are growing in a society like this. At some point we will find ourselves in such a mess that others could solve it in a radical way. And I don’t want that. Absolutely not. This is another Germany. We can go on like this for a few more years, then a terrible awakening awaits us.”

“Because I demonstrated empirically in a book the fear of a creeping takeover by Islamists, I was expelled from the Social Democrats and today we see the seeds sprouting everywhere in Germany,” former German central banker Thilo Sarrazin writes in Weltwoche. He is author of the best-selling nonfiction book in post-war German history, “Germany Abolishes Itself”.

10 predictions for 2024: Get ready for tough times with war and economic collapse on the horizon   Leo Hohmann

December 30, 2023 – Expect civil unrest to break out in 2024 as globalist elites go for the final takedown of America as we know it in preparation for their satanic digital reset of the world order

The year 2023 will go down in history as the point at which the globalists completed the assembly of a massive secret army inside the U.S. in preparation for the final takedown of America, transforming it into Amerika.

By my calculations, there are anywhere from 1.5 million to 5 million foreign soldiers already inside the U.S. awaiting orders. My math is based on the government’s own statistics for illegals entering the U.S. over the last three years and then I estimated how many were military-age males using very conservative numbers on the low end and moderately conservative numbers on the top end. The most conservative number, 1.5 million, assumes that no foreign agents of military age were already here prior to January 2021, which of course we know cannot be the case but I wanted to demonstrate just how conservative these numbers are.

So, we have 1.5 million, at the very least, super-fit males of military age we’ve seen entering the U.S. as “asylum seekers,” which has become the new Orwellian term for illegal aliens. It’s no longer a secret. You can go on X, formerly Twitter, and watch countless videos of waves of men entering the U.S. with no papers to identify who they are. Even if we go with the ultra-conservative figure of a 1.5 million-man army now assembled inside the United States, that is formidable by anyone’s standards.

Now, what if all those weapons purchased by U.S. federal government agencies were accumulated for the purpose of arming this assembled army? Think about that. Everyone wondered why federal agencies with no law enforcement role, like the Small Business Administration, Department of Agriculture and Health and Human Services, were buying up guns and ammo under Obama’s administration and now again under Biden’s regime. This unprecedented militarization of the federal government did not even stop under Trump, it just slowed down. I am not here to tell you why those agencies have felt the need to arm up, but I can tell you that the reason cannot be good. One plausible explanation would be that they will use these stockpiles to supply one side in a coming civil war that has probably been planned for a long time.
