WHO Global Pandemic Treaty Fails After Two Years of Negotiation, Commie Chief Says He Will ‘Try Everything’ to Reach Fresh Agreement By Ben Kew
May 26, 2024 5:40 pm – After two years of negotiations, an effort by the World Health Organization to agree on a global pandemic treaty has failed.
The plan, which sought to agree on a framework for how countries would respond to the next pandemic, would give the WHO the power to mandate lockdowns, vaccines, and vaccine passports and other forms of authoritarian control.
The effort was led by WHO Director, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, an Ethiopian politician with links to Marxist guerilla movements whose “recommendations” shaped the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Friday, Roland Driece, co-chair of WHO’s negotiating board for the agreement, acknowledged that countries were unable to come up with a draft. WHO had hoped a final draft treaty could be agreed on at its yearly meeting of health ministers starting Monday in Geneva. “We are not where we hoped we would be when we started this process,” he said, adding that finalizing an international agreement on how to respond to a pandemic was critical “for the sake of humanity.”
Driece said the World Health Assembly next week would take up lessons from its work and plot the way forward, urging participants to make “the right decisions to take this process forward” to one day reach a pandemic agreement “because we need it.” The draft treaty had attempted to address the gap that occurred between COVID-19 vaccines in rich and poorer countries, which WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said amounted to “a catastrophic moral failure.”

The accord’s aim was to set guidelines for how the WHO’s 194 member countries might stop future pandemics and better share resources. But experts warned there were virtually no consequences for countries that don’t comply. The co-chairs of the treaty-drafting process didn’t specify what caused the logjam, but diplomats have said vast differences remained over sharing of information about pathogens that emerge and the sharing of technologies to fight them.
The World Intellectual Property Organization adopted a treaty on Friday May 24, 2024 regarding genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge. Expect additional plot twists in the coming week.

The Treaty established in international law a new disclosure requirement for patent applicants whose inventions are based on genetic resources and/or associated traditional knowledge.
What Does the Treaty Do?
Broadly, where a claimed invention in a patent application is based on genetic resources, each contracting party shall require applicants to disclose the country of origin or source of the genetic resources. Where the claimed invention in a patent application is based on traditional knowledge associated with genetic resources, each contracting party shall require applicants to disclose the Indigenous Peoples or local community, as applicable, who provided the traditional knowledge.
While genetic resources themselves cannot be directly protected as intellectual property, inventions developed using them can, most often through a patent.
“Genetic material” means any material of plant, animal, microbial or other origin containing functional units of heredity.

Pulmonary embolism occurs when a blood clot gets lodged in an artery in the lungs, blocking blood flow and causing severe health issues, which can be fatal if not treated promptly.

As fears grow around the world over the risk of another pandemic following the detection of avian bird flu in humans, pharmaceutical companies are benefitting from talk that they may be ready to develop another vaccine to stop another pandemic in its tracks.

Shares of vaccine stocks Moderna, Novavax, and BioNTech SE rallied this week, appreciating 23.4%, 16.4%, and 9.3%, respectively, through Thursday trading, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
While these three stocks gained notoriety back in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, it appears this week’s detection of avian bird flu in a second U.S. citizen and the first-ever detection of avian flu in a human in Australia are spurring fears of an outbreak and thus a possible boon for companies that can quickly produce a bird flu vaccine.
A new avian flu, H5N1, was detected in cattle back in March, with one worker in Texas coming down with associated conjunctivitis at that time. But on Wednesday this week, a second U.S. dairy worker in Michigan tested positive for the avian flu as well. That same day, an Australian dairy worker also tested positive for avian flu, marking the first-ever human case of avian flu in that country.
The discoveries spurred fears of an outbreak. That same day, the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response at the Department of Health and Human Services, Dawn O’Connell, noted that Moderna and Pfizer, which partnered with BioNTech on the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine, were in talks over a potential mRNA vaccine program for the new avian flu.
As has been extensively reported by The Gateway Pundit, major pharmaceuticals including Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca made billions in profits for their shareholders after developing a series of vaccines intended to treat COVID-19.
Although they supposedly lowered the risk of serious illness, the vaccines did not prevent infection nor the transmission of the virus and also carried a plethora of potential side effects that the scientific establishment attempted to cover up.
Meanwhile, left-wing politicians around the world attempted to marginalize those who refused to take the vaccine, particularly those working in public sector jobs such as the military.
Earlier this month, AstraZeneca announced a global withdrawal of its version of the COVID-19 vaccine, known as Vaxzevria, after acknowledging that it could cause rare but serious side effects.
Depending on the severity of the virus, a bird flu vaccine may or may not be necessary. However, you can guarantee there if the opportunity presents itself, these multinational pharmaceuticals will waste no time in trying to make billions off it.

May 23, 2024 7:00 pm – A whistleblower has come forward with explosive claims that race-based admissions policies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) have severely degraded the quality of its medical school, prompting a stern warning from tech mogul Elon Musk about the potential for patient deaths due to medical incompetence.
Long hailed as a premier institution, UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine has seen a precipitous drop in its standards, according to damning evidence and interviews conducted by the Washington Free Beacon.
The institution, which annually attracts up to 14,000 applicants, accepted just 173 in 2023, a record-low acceptance rate of 1.3 percent. The median matriculant took difficult science courses in college, earned a 3.8 GPA, and scored in the 88th percentile on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT).
In November 2021, during a typical admissions committee meeting, concerns were raised about an African American applicant whose academic credentials significantly lagged behind UCLA’s stringent standards.
Elon Musk, the tech mogul known for his outspoken opinions on social issues, reacted strongly to these developments.
“People will die if doctors misdiagnose patients,” Musk tweeted.
Jennifer Lucero, the dean of admissions, vehemently argued that the candidate’s lower scores were inconsequential given the need for doctors who represent diverse backgrounds.
“Did you not know African-American women are dying at a higher rate than everybody else?” Lucero reportedly challenged, emphasizing the importance of diversity over traditional metrics of academic excellence.
According to sources within the university, since Lucero’s tenure began, there has been a noticeable decline in the performance of students on standardized tests essential for their medical careers.
The whistleblower pointed out that some students admitted under these revised criteria were unable to perform basic medical procedures or diagnose common conditions during their rotations. More than 50% of certain cohorts have failed their basic exams.
The whistleblower claims are supported by internal emails and performance data revealing that under Lucero’s tenure, UCLA’s ranking plummeted from 6th to 18th in U.S. News & World Report’s list for medical research.
Several admissions officials allege that race is often discussed explicitly in admissions decisions despite California’s legal bans on such practices. This has led to accusations against Lucero and her office of lowering admission standards for certain racial groups while maintaining high barriers for others.
It can be recalled that the Supreme Court ruled last year that the Harvard and UNC race-based affirmative action programs are unconstitutional. Schools nationwide will no longer be able to discriminate against students on the basis of race.
All but eight states used race-based affirmative action. The states that did have affirmative action at all prior to the ruling were California, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Arizona, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, and Idaho
Last October, the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments in two separate cases about the consideration of race in college admissions: Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) v. University of North Carolina and Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard University.
At stake in the Harvard case was whether the university violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act by discriminating against Asian-American applicants. The UNC case concerned the school’s unwillingness to adopt a “race-neutral alternative.”

May 22, 2024 11:35am – The Department of Health and Human Services followed its suspension and proposed debarment of EcoHealth Alliance, which passed through taxpayer money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a suspected source of COVID-19, by doing the same for its president, Peter Daszak, a week later.
The only difference between the documents invoked to justify the immediate and proposed permanent funding bans in the May 15 and May 21 notification letters to EcoHealth and Daszak, respectively, appears to be that the latter references the former.
The letter Tuesday and the formal “action referral memorandum,” made public Wednesday by the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, is from a redacted “Suspension and Debarment Official and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisitions.”
It tells Daszak the suspension and proposed permanent funding ban is “related to your respective roles” as EcoHealth president as well as program director and principal investigator on a National Institutes of Health and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease grant to study “the risk of bat coronavirus emergence.”
Subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup said in a press release Wednesday he called for Daszak’s personal debarment at a hearing last week with NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak and the subcommittee issued a report two weeks earlier on Daszak’s “flagrant disregard for the risks associated with gain-of-function research, and his willful violation of the terms of his NIH grant.”
This “will ensure [Daszak] never again receives a single cent from U.S. taxpayers nor has the opportunity to start a new, untrustworthy organization,” but it “does not shield him from accountability” for potentially lying under oath “about his relationship with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and his compliance with NIH grant procedures,” The Ohio lawmaker said.
The White Coat Waste Project, which took credit for focusing scrutiny on EcoHealth four years ago, said Daszak was “the latest domino to fall but shouldn’t be the last” in the funding of “wasteful and reckless virus hunting and animal experimentation that can cause pandemics and create bioweapons.”
Senior Vice President Justin Goodman noted its investigation found NIH gave $8 million in 2021 and 2023 to build a new bat lab at Colorado State University supplied with infected bats via the EcoHealth Alliance, which WCW dubbed “Wuhan West.”

At long last, National Institutes of Health (NIH) principal deputy director Lawrence Tabak admitted to Congress Thursday that US taxpayers funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China in the months and years before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Dr. Tabak,” asked Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.) of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, “did NIH fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through [Manhattan-based nonprofit] EcoHealth [Alliance]?”
“It depends on your definition of gain-of-function research,” Tabak answered. “If you’re speaking about the generic term, yes, we did.”
The response comes after more than four years of evasions from federal public health officials — including Tabak himself and former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director Dr. Anthony Fauci — about the controversial research practice that modifies viruses to make them more infectious.
Tabak added that “this is research, the generic term [gain-of-function], is research that goes on in many, many labs around the country. It is not regulated. And the reason it’s not regulated is it poses no threat or harm to anybody.”
Dr. Bryce Nickels, a professor of genetics at Rutgers University and co-founder of the pandemic oversight group Biosafety Now, told The Post the exchange “was two people talking past each other.”
“Tabak was engaging in the usual obfuscation and semantic manipulation that is so frustrating and pointless,” Nickels said, adding that the NIH bigwig was resisting accountability for risky research that can create pathogens of pandemic potential.
“Instead of addressing this directly, Tabak launched into a useless response about how ‘gain-of-function’ encompasses many types of experiments,” he added.
In July 2023, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) barred the Wuhan Institute of Virology from receiving federal grants for the next 10 years.
EcoHealth Alliance, whose mission statement declares it is “working to prevent pandemics,” had all of its grant funding pulled by HHS for the next three years on Tuesday.
EcoHealth Alliance president Dr. Peter Daszak, in a hearing earlier this month before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, testified that his organization “never has and did not do gain-of-function research, by definition.”
But that claim directly contradicted Daszak’s private correspondence, including a 2016 email in which he celebrated the end of an Obama administration pause on gain-of-function research.
The EcoHealth head was also called out in sworn testimony to the COVID panel by Dr. Ralph Baric, a leading coronavirologist who initiated the research himself and declared it was “absolutely” gain-of-function.

Federal Court Strikes Down Colorado University’s COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate as Unconstitutional By Jim Hᴏft
May 19, 2024 9:40 pm – In a landmark decision earlier this month, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit delivered a scathing rebuke to the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, declaring its COVID-19 vaccine mandate unconstitutional.
The 55-page ruling highlighted that the mandate, which excluded religious exemptions, was tainted by “religious animus” and thus violated the First Amendment’s protection of religious liberties.
The court’s decision reversed a prior ruling by a lower court, bringing to an end a contentious legal battle initiated by the Thomas More Society on behalf of 17 faculty members and students.
These individuals had faced severe repercussions, including dismissals and expulsions, for their refusal to comply with the university’s vaccine policies due to their deeply held religious beliefs.
In September 2021, under its controversial policy, the University of Colorado mandated COVID-19 vaccination for all individuals accessing its facilities or participating in its programs, with strictly limited exemptions. Legal challenges were quickly mounted as affected parties claimed that their rights to religious freedom were being infringed upon.
“Thomas More Society attorneys filed their lawsuit in September 2021, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado against the University of Colorado, the chancellor of the Anschutz School of Medicine and the school’s senior associate dean of medical education. The original lawsuit was filed for a Catholic doctor and a Buddhist student, who were unable to take the vaccine due to their sincerely and deeply held religious convictions, and in October 2021, over a dozen additional staff and students were added to the lawsuit. They are seeking injunctive relief, damages, and attorney’s fees against the University for its unlawful discrimination and violations of fundamental constitutional rights,” Thomas More Society said in its press release.
Peter Breen, Executive Vice President and Head of Litigation at the Thomas More Society, expressed vindication, stating, “The University of Colorado ran roughshod overstaff and students of faith during COVID, and the Court of Appeals has now declared plainly what we’ve fought to establish for almost three years: the University acted with ‘religious animus’ and flagrantly violated the fundamental religious liberties of these brave healthcare providers and students. These medical providers were hailed as heroes, as they served bravely on the front lines through the worst of the pandemic, but when their religious principles conflicted with the beliefs of University of Colorado bureaucrats, these heroes were callously tossed aside.”

Dr. Robert Redfield worked as CDC director from 2018 to January 2021.
According to Dr. Redfield, the potential risks associated with the vaccines were deliberately downplayed, which has led to severe health complications for some individuals.
During a televised discussion with Chris Cuomo, a COVID vaccine-injured himself, Dr. Redfield expressed his concerns about the lack of transparency from major public health institutions such as the NIH, FDA, and CDC.
Dr. Redfield suggested the establishment of an independent review commission, akin to the post-9/11 commission, to thoroughly investigate the decisions made during the pandemic across both the previous and current administrations.

May 18, 2024 1:40 pm – During the COVID-19 pandemic, one could not go five minutes without hearing the phrase “social distancing.”
The theory, according to the country’s leading scientific “experts,” was that by keeping a distance of six feet from one another, one could successfully protect the vulnerable from the COVID virus and save millions of lives.
Now it turns out it was all a lie.
Francis Collins, the former director of the National Insitute of Health, admitted in a closed-door interview earlier this year that he did not see any scientific evidence that social distancing was a proven method of containing the virus.
The Federalist reported:
On March 22, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued what amounted to placebo guidance advising Americans to avoid mass gatherings and remain at least six feet apart from each other. The businesses the government deemed essential — the supermarkets, the pharmacies, the big-box retailers — marked the dividing lines, two yards between life and death, on the floors and in checkout lines.
But Collins and crew, including the smug and self-righteous Dr. Anthony Fauci, the immunologist who ran the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for a dangerously long time, made a very good living segregating a society at an unprecedented level. The damage done from the scientists’ sign-off on a long and cruel isolation experiment will take a long time to fully measure.
“The six feet of separation recommendation had real life consequences. This guideline made it nearly impossible for schools nationwide to re-open due to the pressure from teachers unions to follow this guideline. In addition, businesses had to adapt at great cost or risk complete closure,” states a Thursday subcommittee staff memo on the Collins interview.
Then comes the crux of the interview:
But the government-imposed individual internment camps were all worth it, right? Social distancing, plus deeply flawed vaccines, prevented 800,000 deaths, headlines last week proclaimed. But when asked whether he believed any science or evidence supported the six-feet rule, Collins said he did not.
“Is that I do not recall or I do not see any evidence supporting six feet?” a Covid subcommittee staff member asked the good doctor. “I did not see evidence, but I’m not sure I would have been shown evidence at that point,” Collins replied.
But what about four years later? “Since then, it has been an awfully large topic. Have you seen any evidence since then supporting six feet?” the staffer asked.
No,” the former NIH director conceded.
So there you have it. Time and time again those of us, including The Gateway Pundit, who questioned every aspect of the COVID pandemic, from the lockdown regimes and mask mandates all the way through to vaccines and potential treatments, have been proven correct.
There was never any scientific basis for the decisions that were taken, although the political, societal and economic consequences were enormous.
