California farmers lose BILLIONS as atmospheric river rain storms continue – “we’ve lost EVERYTHING” by Ethan Huff
Sunday, March 26, 2023 – (Natural News) The dozen-or-so “atmospheric rivers,” also known as rain storms, that have hit California this winter so far have provided a much-needed reprieve from the persistent drought conditions that have plagued the state for many years. There is a downside, though: many of the state’s crop farms are now underwater from all this excess moisture, which is creating massive food and finance losses for the Golden State’s farmers.
Many people are unaware of this, but nearly half of all American agriculture is grown in California, generating more than $50 billion a year in revenue. The Midwest primarily grows genetically modified (GMO) corn and soybeans, along with wheat, while California grows most of the country’s fruits, vegetables, nuts, and leafy greens.
Because these atmospheric river storms have been hitting California one after another after another following many years of mostly dry conditions, a lot of that water is flowing from higher elevations to lower elevations rather than absorbing into oftentimes rock-hard soils. The result is many destroyed farms and farmers who have “lost everything.”

Several other U.S. snow record benchmarks are also in mountainous areas of the western U.S.
Snow totals in the West have topped 700 inches in the higher elevations of some ski resorts, but that’s still nowhere near the United States record for the most in a season.
Sugar Bowl and Mammoth Mountain (summit) in California, as well as Brighton, Utah, are three of the locations that have surpassed the 700-inch mark heading into the end of March. Put another way, the 700-inch threshold is about 58 feet, which is taller than the average height of three male giraffes stacked from head to toe.

A tornado that struck in Montebello has been rated EF1 by the National Weather Service.
Buildings and cars were damaged, and there was one report of an injury.
It was the second tornado in the region in less than 24 hours.
A n EF1 tornado caused significant damage to over a dozen buildings in the Los Angeles suburb of Montebello Wednesday, less than 24 hours after a weaker tornado damaged mobile homes in the small coastal city of Carpinteria.
T here were reports that at least one person was injured, as well as roofs ripped off buildings and cars destroyed in the heavily populated Montebello area.
I t happened around 11 a.m. local time as a lone thunderstorm moved through. The tornado was estimated to have wind speeds up to 110 mph, making it the strongest to hit the Los Angeles metro since March 1983, according to the National Weather Service.
