IDF evacuates Samaria outpost, Religious Zionism MKs back settlers   By Lauren Marcus, World Israel News

February 27, 2023 – Former residents of Evyatar often return to the town after terror attacks, and hundreds of settlers spent the night on the site following the deadly shooting in Huwara on Sunday.

After an attempt to evacuate settlers in Evyatar overnight Sunday failed, IDF soldiers once again began forcibly removing people from the former community on Monday morning.

Evyatar, an outpost near Nablus (Shechem), has been repeatedly dismantled and depopulated by Israeli security forces since its founding in 2013.

The community was established after a 2013 terror attack that killed Evyatar Borovsky, and the outpost was named after him.

Former residents of Evyatar often return to the town after terror attacks, and hundreds of settlers spent the night on the site following the deadly shooting in Huwara on Sunday

“The correct response to terror is settlement construction. That is what will deter the vile terrorists and that is how we should respond, including a full return to the Evyatar settlement today,” said MK Tzvi Sukkot of the Religious Zionism party, who slept at the site alongside settlers.

[Ed.:  I was under the misimpression that the new government had stopped this treatment of Jews in Judea and Samaria.  I must’a been deceived.  Well, once an IINO, always an IINO I suppose!  The last time, Hashem made a flood. That worked very well.  This time it will be pillars of fire from the earth up to the heavens. Coming soon to neighborhoods near you!]

The new government must be serious about combatting deception   Dr. Shmuel Katz

Due to the rampant out of control malicious anti-Israeli propaganda, a serious effort should be made to go beyond the simple “Hasbara,” sharing reliable and well-documented information.

Feb 12, 2023, 7:41 PM (GMT+2) – As it stands today, in the field of local and international education, it seems that providing students and others, with factual and truthful “Hasbara”, and documenting and complaining about antisemitism, is not enough!

To try to make a difference for the better, we should also add to our overall educational efforts the following points, as they may help redirect the public’s anger and attention to the correct addresses, and away from irrational attacks on the Jews or on the state of Israel:

Netanyahu rushes to deny settlement freeze announced after Aqaba summit   By LAZAR BERMAN

26 February 2023, 9:49 pm – Joint communiqué says Jerusalem won’t discuss new West Bank units for 4 months, authorize outposts for 6 months, but PM, Hanegbi insist ‘there is no change in Israeli policy’

Israel committed to halting new settlement projects Sunday during a summit in Aqaba, according to a joint communiqué issued after the meeting, though Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu swiftly denied there would be any construction freeze over the Green Line.

Israel agreed to “stop discussion of any new settlement units for four months and to stop authorization of any outposts for six months,” said the statement after the five-way meeting.

A senior official confirmed that Israel had told its interlocutors that there would be no additional announcements about settlement construction in the coming months.

But hours after the joint statement was released, Netanyahu tweeted that “the building and authorization in Judea and Samaria will continue according to the original planning and building schedule, with no change,” using the biblical term for the West Bank.

“There is not and will not be any freeze,” he continued.

[Ed.:  Obviously, it’s not too late for Bibi to redeem himself.  Moves like this mitigate the severity of his sentence upstairs!]

Coalition MK lauds torching of Arab village after terror attack  By David Rosenberg, INN

‘I want to see Huwara closed and burned to the ground.’ MK Brig. Gen. (ret.) Zvika Fogel praises Jewish rioters who torched Huwara.

27.2.23 – A Coalition MK praised Jewish rioters who torched cars and buildings in the Arab village of Huwara in Samaria overnight, hours after a terrorist murdered two young Israeli men in Huwara.

MK Zvika Fogel (Otzma Yehudit), a retired IDF brigadier general, told Galei Yisrael radio Monday morning that he wanted to see Huwara “shuttered and burned” in response to Sunday’s attack and subsequent celebrations by local Arabs.

“What residents of Judea and Samaria did last night in Huwara was to create the strongest deterrent the State of Israel has had since Defensive Shield,” referring to the spring 2002 IDF operation against terrorist cells in cities across the Palestinian Authority.

“After murders like those yesterday, when the army doesn’t take action, villages need to burn.”

[Ed.:  Strongly agree.]

US reveals Israeli concessions to PA, plans for second summit

Israel will join US-mediated talks with Palestinian Authority, Jordan, and Egypt again next month, State Department reveals.

Published: Feb 26, 2023, 8:28 PM (GMT+2) – Israel has agreed to freeze the approval process for new housing projects in Judea and Samaria for four months, and will not normalize the status of any additional outpost communities for at least six months, the US State Department said Sunday evening.

In a statement released following an emergency summit held in Aqaba in southern Jordan Sunday, the State Department said that both sides had agreed to meet again in Sharm el Sheikh on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt next month to continue efforts to calm regional tensions.

Israel and the PA “affirmed their commitment to all previous agreements between them, and to work towards a just and lasting peace,” the State Department said. “They reaffirmed the necessity of committing to de-escalation on the ground and to prevent further violence.”

The two sides also affirmed their “joint readiness and commitment to immediately work to end unilateral measures” over the next three to six months, ahead of the upcoming Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

[Ed.:  I’m having ‘deja vu’!  This has happened so many times before now, that I’ve lost count. Whenever they do these ‘talks’, the only result is more dead Jews.  Until the enemy is totally decimated, Jewish blood will remain cheapest in the fakakte land of IINO, and these ‘talks’ stop being a cliche, and a complete waste of bandwidth, decade after decade…]

Israeli brothers killed in Samaria terror shooting

The IDF opened a manhunt for the attacker near Nablus.

(February 26, 2023 / JNS) Two Israelis were killed in a terrorist attack near the village of Huwara, south of Nablus, in Samaria on Sunday.

The IDF said a terrorist drove to the Einabus junction and opened fire on a passing Israeli vehicle on Highway 60. The gunfire hit two civilians who were evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment, where they were pronounced dead.

They were subsequently identified as brothers Hillel Menachem and Yigal Yaakov Yaniv, both from the nearby community of Har Bracha.

Israeli forces blocked roads in the area of the attack and initiated a manhunt for the perpetrator.

Israel to curb IDF ops in Judea and Samaria after Jordan meeting—report

“We will only act in the face of ticking bombs or an urgent operational need,” says an unnamed senior Israeli security officer.

(February 26, 2023 / JNS) Israel agreed on Sunday, during an emergency security meeting between Israel and Palestinian officials in Aqaba, Jordan, to reduce its counter-terror operations in Judea and Samaria.

“We are giving it a chance. We will only act in the face of ticking bombs or an urgent operational need,” said an unnamed senior security officer, according to Ynet.

The meeting, a bid to reduce tensions in Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip ahead of Ramadan, was also attended by U.S. and Egyptian representatives.

Israeli, Palestinian officials meet in Jordan in bid to reduce tensions

The talks come amid an Israeli counter-terrorism offensive in Judea and Samaria.

(February 26, 2023 / JNS) Israeli and Palestinian officials met on Sunday in Aqaba, Jordan, in a bid to reduce tensions in Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip. The meeting was attended by U.S. and Egyptian representatives.

The Israeli delegation included National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) head Ronen Bar, with the Palestinian team being led by Palestinian Authority intelligence chief Majed Faraj. The United States was represented by White House Middle East coordinator Brett McGurk.

“Israel accepted the American offer to participate in the meeting, during which the security representatives from the participating countries will discuss ways to calm tensions in the region ahead of the month of Ramadan [that begins on March 22 or 23],” according to a statement by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.

Israeli media quoted a Jordanian official as saying that “the political-security meeting is part of stepped-up ongoing efforts by [Amman] in coordination with the Palestinian Authority and other parties to end unilateral measures [by Israel] and a breakdown that could fuel more violence.”
