HELL UNLEASHED? ISRAEL LAUNCHES SURPRISE ATTACK ON GAZA by David Mark
March 18, 2025 Israel Unwired – After Hamas refused to release the rest of the hostages, the IDF launched a wide ranging set of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip beginning at 2 am on Tuesday morning.
WATCH [3:22]
Hamas has claimed over 400 casualties after the IDF’s surprise airstrikes ordered by Prime Minister Netanyahu, but the numbers cannot be confirmed. The campaign is stopping short of Israel’s new top general Eyal Zamir’s plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip and crush Hamas once and for all to give the terror group a chance to agree to release the remaining hostages, but it appears that this window is rapidly closing and despite claims that Hamas is now in touch with hostage mediators, Israel’s government has lost patience, preparing for a total ground invasion after aerial bombing softens Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz have instructed the IDF to take strong action against the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. This follows Hamas’s repeated refusal to release our hostages, as well as its rejection of all of the proposals it has received from US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and from the mediators. The IDF is, at this time, attacking targets of the Hamas terrorist organization throughout the Gaza Strip in order to achieve the objectives of the war as they have been determined by the political echelon including the release of all of our hostages, the living and the deceased. Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength. The operational plan was presented by the IDF over the weekend and approved by the political leadership,” the statement concluded.
While the leftwing and Qatar funded Hostage Families Forum slammed the resumption of the war, not one of the protestors in Tel Aviv can answer how Prime Minister Netanyahu should go about freeing the remaining hostages when it is Hamas who refuses to release the hostages.
Whether the current offensive remains limited in order to give Hamas a chance to release the hostages or is really the start of the climactic destruction of Hamas and the total military occupation of the Gaza Strip remains to be seen. One thing that is clear, General Eyal Zamir thinks in a far more comprehensive and offensive mindset - something that has long been absent in the IDF, but has come at the right time in order to give Israel the absolute victory it needs. The only question that remains - does the Prime Minister have the will to allow Zamir and the IDF to destroy Israel’s Gazan enemies once and for all?
Otzma Yehudit To Rejoin Gov’t Following War’s Resumption; A-G: “It’s Not Legal”
March 18, 2025 Yeshiva World News – Otzma Yehudit chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir reached an agreement with the Likud party on Tuesday afternoon to rejoin the government following the resumption of IDF airstrikes in Gaza.
The members of the party who served as ministers will return to their positions.
A vote on the ministers’ return is scheduled to take place in the Knesset later on Tuesday and a swearing-in ceremony will take place in the Knesset on Wednesday.
But in a move that shocked no one, Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara has decided to once again interfere with the government’s decisions and has instructed the legal counsel not to advance the resolution to return Ben-Gvir to the government, Channel 13 News reported. As a result, Ben-Gvir won’t be able to return to the government until an investigation into his case takes place.
Baharav-Miara is basing her opposition on a fabricated case she launched against Ben-Gvir in November 2024 claiming that personal interests affected his leadership of the National Security Ministry.
The Otzma Yehudit party left the coalition two months ago after the government agreed to a ceasefire with Hamas.
Earlier on Tuesday, Ben-Gvir issued a statement praising the government’s decision to return to battle in Gaza.
“As we said in recent months, when we quit the government, Israel must return to fighting in Gaza,” Ben-Gvir stated. “This is the correct, moral, ethical, and most justified step in order to destroy Hamas and bring back our hostages. We must not accept the existence of the Hamas terror organization, it must be destroyed.”

Netanyahu attacks Attorney General: ‘Dangerous denial of government’s authority’
In a strongly worded letter, the Prime Minister condemns Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara’s attempts to intervene in the dismissal of ISA Director Ronen Bar.
Mar 17, 2025, 9:52 PM (GMT+2) Israel National News – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a strongly worded letter on Monday to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara amid the disagreement regarding the dismissal of ISA Director Ronen Bar.
Netanyahu even brought the cabinet meeting to discuss the dismissal forward from Wednesday to Tuesday.
He claimed that judicial intervention in the matter violates the government’s authority to make security decisions. In his letter, Netanyahu notes that the dismissal of the ISA Director is under the sole authority of the government per the Israel Security Agency Law.
“This is a security decision of the utmost degree, in peace, and even more so, during an emergency and due to urgent security challenges,” Netanyahu wrote to the Attorney General. “Your attempt to take control of the government’s security considerations during a war under the guise of legal advice is a dangerous denial of the government’s authority.”
Netanyahu targeted Baharav-Miara’s claims of a conflict of interest, and accused her of “abusing her authority.” According to him, “Your hints at illegalities and a conflict of interest are the total opposite of justice. Your instruction to regularly open investigations into the Prime Minister’s staff, whose purpose even the Police do not understand, is an abuse of your authority and an invalid practice that has become a method and its goal is to deprive authority from the elected echelon.”
The Prime Minister also claimed that “your claim that the position of ISA Director is not ‘a personal position of allegiance under the Prime Minister’ is a manipulation. The Prime Minister and government did not demand personal allegiance. The legislature decided that the agency is under the government’s authority and that the Prime Minister is in charge of the director. Hence, to fulfill their roles, the government and Prime Minister must trust the agency director and his abilities to successfully lead the agency in the face of urgent challenges. That is the trust that was violated.”
In his letter, Netanyahu stressed that the government would soon discuss the issue, and noted that the Attorney General could participate in the discussion and express her legal stance. “In the next meeting, the cabinet will discuss, among other things, the dismissal of the ISA Director amid the loss of confidence on the part of the Prime Minister and many of the cabinet members. You will be invited to this meeting. You can listen in detail to the reasons for the proposal and express your legal stance before the cabinet decides on the matter.”

Otzma Yehudit returns to the government
Likud and Otzma Yehudit agreed that the Otzma Yehudit faction will return to the government and the ministers of Otzma Yehudit will be given back their portfolios.
Mar 18, 2025, 1:53 PM (GMT+2) Israel National News – The Likud and the Otzma Yehudit parties reached an agreement on Tuesday according to which Otzma Yehudit will return today to the government and ministers from Otzma Yehudit will be given back their portfolios.
The appointment of the ministers of Otzma Yehudit will be approved today in the government, and tomorrow the swearing-in will take place in the plenum of the Knesset. The ministers will return to the same positions, but there is no new coalition agreement.
The agreement is expected to affect the stability of the coalition and strengthen the right-wing bloc, especially on security and diplomatic issues where Otzma Yehudit demands a more assertive approach.
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara objected to the decision, and declared that Otzma Yehudit would be forbidden from rejoining the government.

Supreme Court: Government has the authority to dismiss ISA Chief
The Supreme Court outright rejects the petition against the government’s intention to dismiss ISA Director Ronen Bar, tells petitioners to return once the government makes a decision.
Mar 18, 2025, 1:43 PM (GMT+2) Israel National News – The Supreme Court on Tuesday outright rejected the petition submitted by the Movement for Quality Government in Israel and the “Homat Magen Le’Yisrael” (Defensive Wall for Israel) Forum against the government’s intention to dismiss ISA Director Ronen Bar.
Justices Ruth Ronen, Gila Canfy-Steinitz, and Noam Sohlberg ruled that at this stage, a decision has yet to be made by the government, which is the authority authorized to terminate the service of the ISA Director per the Israel Security Agency Law. The ruling states: “In a Cabinet meeting that would convene to discuss this matter, the Attorney General can present the cabinet members with the all legal considerations needed for their decision-making.”
The judges emphasized that the petitioners must wait for the government’s final decision and only then could they again petition the court. “The petition came too early,” the court wrote, “The petitioners have the right to address the court again after a decision is made.”
The court also ruled that it is not necessary to listen to the Attorney General’s stance before the meeting is convened. “In any case, it is not impossible that after her stance is heard, the decision would not be made, or a different decision is made,” the judges noted. They also clarified that “what was said above does not aim to express a position on the petitioners’ claim itself, and it does not harm their right to return and petition the court after the decision is made.”

Breaking: The ceasefire is over. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirms that Israel has resumed military operations against Hamas in Gaza after Hamas refused to extend the ceasefire deal.
Prime Minister Netanyahu: “We have instructed the IDF to act forcefully against Hamas—the IDF is currently attacking targets throughout the entire Gaza Strip.”
Israeli fighter jets are striking Hamas targets across Gaza. Reports indicate multiple casualties, with dozens of wounded arriving at Nasser Hospital in Gaza following the airstrikes. Everything has changed now as Israel intensifies efforts to dismantle Hamas and secure the release of hostages.
The Office of the Minister of Defense announced that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz have ordered the IDF to take decisive military action against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This decision follows Hamas’ repeated refusal to release hostages and its rejection of all offers from U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and other mediators.
The IDF is currently striking Hamas targets throughout Gaza as part of efforts to achieve Israel’s war objectives, including securing the release of all hostages—both living and deceased. Moving forward, Israel will escalate its military operations against Hamas. The operational plan, presented by the IDF last weekend, has been approved by the political leadership.
Joint IDF and ISA Announcement: Following directives from the political echelon, the IDF and ISA are carrying out extensive strikes on Hamas terror targets in the Gaza Strip. Further details will be provided as the operation unfolds.
UPDATED IDF HOME FRONT COMMAND GUIDELINES
After a situational assessment, the IDF Home Front Command will adjust its defensive guidelines starting at 02:00 today (Tuesday). Changes include:
Areas near the Gaza Strip shifting from Full Activity to Limited Activity, meaning educational institutions will remain closed.
The Western Negev and Western Lachish regions will continue under Full Activity status.
Residents must follow all official Home Front Command guidelines, available on the National Emergency Portal and the Home Front Command app.

Bibi fights back! Israeli FEUD ERUPTS over weekend [43:08]
March 17, 2025 JNS TV | Jerusalem Minute
Welcome to “Jerusalem Minute,” JNS’s weekly deep-dive into the biggest stories shaping Israel and the Middle East, hosted by JNS CEO and Jerusalem Bureau Chief Alex Traiman and JNS Middle East Correspondent Josh Hasten. Broadcasting from the JNS Media Hub in Jerusalem, this episode unpacks Israel’s war, U.S. military actions and internal political battles shaping Israel.
Topics covered in this episode:
U.S. vs. the Houthis: Trump administration’s airstrikes against Iranian-backed militias
Hostage Negotiations: The stalled talks with Hamas & impact on Israel’s war strategy
Netanyahu vs. Israel’s Deep State: Internal power struggles with the Shin Bet
Hezbollah and Lebanon: Why Israel is staying in Southern Lebanon indefinitely
The Media War: How terrorist propaganda manipulates Western coverage
Columbia University Crackdown: U.S. deportations of pro-Hamas agitators
March 17, 2025 @ 6:05 pm ET Yeshiva World News – The Middle East stands on a knife’s edge as a cascade of developments suggests the United States may be poised to imminently join Israel in a dramatic military strike against Iran’s nuclear program. From fiery rhetoric out of Washington to Houthi aggression in the Red Sea and an unprecedented American military buildup in the region, the pieces of a volatile puzzle are falling into place with breathtaking speed. The question reverberating through diplomatic corridors and military command centers alike: Is this the moment the long-simmering standoff with Tehran erupts into all-out war?
The spark came early Monday morning when President Trump, in a characteristically blunt statement, declared that “further attacks or retaliation by the Houthis would be considered an attack by Iran” and promised “dire consequences” for Tehran. Delivered via his Truth Social platform, Trump’s words were a clear escalation, tying the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen directly to the Islamic Republic’s leadership. His administration has long viewed Iran’s nuclear ambitions as an existential threat, and this latest pronouncement appeared to set a tripwire: any move by Iran’s proxies could unleash a disproportionate American response.
Hours later, that tripwire seemed to snap. The Houthis, undeterred by Trump’s warning, launched a brazen assault on the USS Harry S. Truman, a U.S. aircraft carrier stationed in the Red Sea. According to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree, [Emphasis added, SORRY!] the attack involved 11 drones and a ballistic missile—an audacious bid to challenge American naval supremacy. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that none of the projectiles struck their targets, with U.S. fighter jets and ship defenses neutralizing the threat. Yet the symbolism was unmistakable: a direct strike on a U.S. vessel, mere hours after Trump’s ultimatum, has thrust the region into uncharted territory.
The Pentagon’s response was swift and ominous. By midday, the U.S. Department of Defense announced that three American aircraft carriers—the USS Harry S. Truman, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, and USS Abraham Lincoln—are now en route to the Middle East. This represents an extraordinary concentration of naval power, unmatched in recent years, and a clear signal of intent. Carriers don’t reposition on a whim; their deployment suggests the U.S. is preparing for a major operation, one that could extend far beyond Yemen’s shores to Iran itself.
Adding fuel to the fire, reports emerged today of an American MQ-4C Triton surveillance drone circling for hours near Bushehr, Iran—a coastal city home to one of Iran’s key nuclear installations. The Bushehr facility, a cornerstone of Tehran’s nuclear energy program, has long been suspected by Western intelligence of serving as a cover for weapons development. The Triton, a high-altitude UAV designed for long-endurance reconnaissance, was tracked by aviation monitors hovering perilously close to Iranian airspace—a provocative move that Tehran is unlikely to ignore. Is this a final intelligence sweep before a strike?
These developments come against a backdrop of growing U.S.-Israel coordination. Israeli officials have repeatedly vowed to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb, and recent intelligence suggests Jerusalem is gearing up for action. U.S. military support has been pivotal in defending Israel against Iranian attacks during the Gaza war, and whispers in Washington indicate that Israel has sought American backing for a potential strike on Iran’s nuclear sites. With Trump’s administration re-designating the Houthis as a terrorist organization and imposing fresh sanctions on Iran, the groundwork for a joint operation may already be laid.
But the Houthi attack could be the match that lights the fuse. By framing it as an Iranian-orchestrated provocation, Trump has a casus belli to pivot from Yemen to Tehran. His Monday statement explicitly blamed Iran for “dictating every move” and “supplying [the Houthis] with money and highly sophisticated military equipment.” If the White House deems this latest assault a direct challenge to U.S. resolve, the response could extend beyond retaliatory strikes in Yemen to a broader campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Critics, however, warn of a dangerous miscalculation. Iran has denied direct involvement in the Houthi attack, and its Foreign Ministry condemned U.S. airstrikes on Yemen as “brutal aggression.” Tehran’s air defenses, though battered by past Israeli strikes, remain formidable, and its proxies across the region—Hezbollah in Lebanon, militias in Iraq—could unleash chaos in retaliation. A strike on Bushehr or other nuclear sites risks igniting a full-scale regional war, with consequences that could dwarf the Gaza conflict.
Yet the Trump administration shows no signs of blinking. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking to reporters on Monday, called the Houthi attack “a powerful and clear message” that demands a response, hinting at sustained military action. The deployment of three carriers, coupled with the MQ-4C’s presence near Bushehr, suggests the U.S. is not just posturing—it’s preparing. And with Israel reportedly itching to act, the stars may be aligning for a historic confrontation.

There’s a lot of activity in the Middle East, lets try for a quick summary and explanations of why we care in Israel…
Hezbollah vs. the New Syrian Regime – – – Border raids, both directions, have grown into rocket and artillery fire, both directions. Syria is moving regime forces towards the border, the Lebanese army is coming to support Hezbollah. This is moving from skirmishes to battle. — On one hand anything that weakens Hezbollah is good for Israel, on the other concerns that if the Syrian regime moves into Lebanon to slaughter Hezbollah, Israel will have to rush a defensive line up to the Litani river to keep them away from the Israeli northern border. Alternatively Hezbollah could punch through the Syrian regime and reopen weapons smuggling routes from Iran.
– Israel is continuing targeted airstrikes on war equipment in Syria, with more attacks this evening in southern Syria.
Gaza – – – After Hamas accepted an agreement that no one had agreed to and the US envoy told them off, Israel has moved to “aggressive ceasefire enforcement”, attacking any Hamas forces moving towards them and any that are visibly making military preparations. There are dual concerns for the remaining live hostages, with ongoing domestic protests, and that Hamas may try a border rush attack or other unexpected offensive. Is Israel preparing to go back in? Actually likely, the evidence being no one is talking about it – which is unusual.
– Israeli officials indicate no progress on talks for hostage release or extending the phase 1 ceasefire.
News 12 – Military censorship allowed publication that Israel had identified an unusual event in the Gaza Strip that indicates Hamas is organizing for another attack on Israel. Prime Minister rushed to IDF HQ.
Israel vs. Hezbollah – – – After the US reprimanded Lebanon for Hezbollah military preparation activities, Israel has significantly upped their daily attacks against Hezbollah activity (but still small numbers, less than 10 daily). This situation does not seem to be about to explode as Hezbollah continues to act weakened, and Israel is pressing their short term political advantage.
US vs. Houthis – – – As the Houthis threatened to and prepared to resume shooting at international shipping – excluding Chinese, Russian and Iranian ships, the US has started a campaign against the Houthi areas of Yemen. As opposed to past US attacks, this one seems sustained and serious. — In response the Houthis have threatened, and fired a ballistic missile at Israel that missed and hit Egypt. Trump has threatened back, and extended the threat to Iran. Very volatile with multiple nearby countries hosting US bases that are now targets, and the US moving major air assets into the region, and Israel being a favorite Houthi target.
Iran – – – The Iranian Revolutionary Guard ordered all missile forces to be placed on high alert, and some reports of US spy drones near Iran. This follows Trump’s threat that if the Houthis fire again, he will hold Iran accountable. — Could Iran, if they think there will be a US attack, fire another round of missiles at Israel or US bases in the Middle East? Conversely, the US does actually have the capacity to eliminate such a threat (with many launch sites and hardened sites) if they choose to do so.

Attorney General tells Netanyahu: ‘You cannot fire Shin Bet head’
Gali Baharav-Miara said that an ‘investigation must be completed into the factual and legal basis underlying the decision and the Prime Minister’s ability to deal with the matter at this time’
March 17, 2025 at 09:54 AM i24NEWS – Following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement that he would seek the dismissal of Shin Bet security agency chief Ronen Bar, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara penned a letter firmly stating that he “cannot fire the head of the Shin Bet.”
“The process cannot be initiated until the completion of the factual and legal investigation underlying your decision and your ability to deal with the issue at this time,” she said in the letter to Netanyahu. She further explained: “This is due to the unusual sensitivity of the issue, its urgency, the fear that the process is tainted with illegality and conflict of interest, and in consideration of the fact that the position of the head of the national security service is not a personal appointment of the prime minister.”
The Prime Minister’s Office said that his dismissal will go up for a vote in the government this week. Bar, in turn, said that he intends to continue his role in the near future, until the 59 hostages still in the Gaza Strip are returned. “The Prime Minister’s expectation for personal trust that contradicts the public interest – it’s invalid,” he said. Bar added that an investigation into the October 7 fiasco must probe “all factors, including government policy and the prime minister.”
[Ed.: The Prime Minister should fire the Attorney General!]

‘October 8’ Chillingly Chronicles Anti-Israel Fever in America Post Hamas Massacre
March 17, 2025 Jewish Breaking News – On October 8, 2023, just one day after Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel, over a thousand people gathered in Times Square for a rally organized by the Democratic Socialists of America New York chapter. While the world saw terrorists slaughtering innocents and dragging hostages back to Gaza, participants in the rally defended Hamas’ actions with chants including “resistance is justified” and “resistance is not a metaphor.”
Now showing in select theaters nationwide a powerful new documentary is guiding viewers through the jarring timeline of anti-Israel and antisemitic fever that exploded across America the day after Hamas’s attack.
“October 8” pays special focus to campus unrest continuing through the December 5 congressional hearing against Harvard, MIT and Penn over their failure to address Jewish hatred on their respective campuses. The film also examines how major media outlets biasedly cover the conflict like when The New York Times, initially published reports blaming Israel for a strike at Gaza’s al-Ahli Arab Hospital on October 17,2023. However, subsequent evidence indicated the explosion was actually caused by a misfired Hamas rocket.
“I think tackling media bias to me was fundamental in this film and how to do that in a way that wasn’t like, ‘Oh yeah, the New York Times is terrible on Israel, NPR is terrible on Israel, Washington Post,’” Director Wendy Sachs noted at a recent Q&A event in Los Angeles. “We’re seeing bias in general traditional media, but certainly the social media piece of it is huge. I mean, that’s everything right now.”
“This is a war that’s being fought on TikTok and on Telegram and on these social media platforms. So, we spend a lot of time trying to unpack what that looks like and what happens online also has real-world impact.”
Actress Debra Messing, who has distinguished herself as one of the few celebrities to vocally oppose anti-Israel sentiment in Hollywood, appears in the film alongside an influential roster of voices, including actor Michael Rapaport, former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg, tech expert Scott Galloway, Congressman Ritchie Torres (D-NY) and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).
“We are thrilled to have the world see this important film,” Messing said in a statement. “This is about exposing fundamentalism and extremism and the threats they pose to democracy and the West.”

Hamas Deliberated Targeted Pro-Gaza Peace Activists For Slaughter on October 7th By Pamela Geller
March 16, 2025 – Hamas stole a list of women peace activists from Kibbutz Be’eri and targeted them for slaughter.
The same lefties on college campuses and pro-terror Democrat activists will all meet the same end if the jihadis prevail. And the left in Israel is even worse.
On 4.10 Shaked’s mother and aunt went to a peace conference with other women from Beeri. On 7.10, Hamas invaded the kibbutz with a list of the conference participants. They went house to house murdering or kidnapping each one. Hamas wanted to murder anyone who supports peace.
You will never understand this conflict without understanding that on October 4, 2023, women from Kibbutz Be’eri attended a peace conference for Israeli and Palestinian women. And on October 7, Hamas reportedly used an attendee list to hunt down these women and murder them.
Shaked Haran explained this in an interview how Hamas deliberately targeted peace activists on Kibbutz Be’eri during their attack.

Silver immigrated to Israel in 1974 and became a member of kibbutz Gezer as part of the Habonim Dror movement.[1][3][6] At Gezer, she became the kibbutz’s secretary, one of the few women to do so;[6] later, she became chairperson of the community.[7] At times, she received pushback from within the kibbutz for her refusal to adhere to gender norms and her choice to take on traditionally male work, such as overseeing construction,.[5] Silver’s early activism focused on women’s rights and gender disparities in Israeli society.[6] To this end, she founded the United Kibbutz Movement’s Department to Advance Gender Equality in 1981.[4][6][7] She also worked within the Knesset on the sub-committee for the Advancement of Women in Work and the Economy,[6] for the New Israel Fund, and on the Steering Committee of Shatil.[4]
She moved to Be’eri, a kibbutz near the Gaza border, in 1990, along with her husband and two sons.[1][3] During this time, she became better acquainted with the local Bedouin community and Gazans. She served as executive director for the Negev Institute for Strategies of Peace and Development (NISPED) beginning in 1998.[3][8] Silver worked within the kibbutz to organize programs to help Gazans, such as job trainings, and ensured that Gazan construction workers at the kibbutz were paid fairly.[3]
In 1999, Silver and Amal Elsana Alh’jooj co-founded the Arab-Jewish Center for Equality, Empowerment and Cooperation, an off-shoot of NISPED.[1] Silver served as the center’s director prior to the second intifada.[9][10][8] The center organized projects in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank.[9][10] In 2010, Silver and Alh’jooj received the Victor J. Goldberg Prize for Peace in the Middle East, an annual prize given by the Institute of International Education to pairs of Arab and Israeli activists working towards peace.[6]
Before the closure of the Gaza border in 2007, Silver worked with Gazan residents in cross-cultural projects.[1][11] One group she founded, Creating Peace, focused on fostering business connections between Palestinian and Israeli artisans.[1]
Silver was a former board member of B’Tselem, a Jerusalem-based human rights organization.[8] She was also involved with Alliance for Middle East Peace, as well as a number of their member organizations.[12] As part of this work, she helped organize and lead tours of the Israeli side of the Israeli–Gaza border, as a way to raise awareness about the struggles of Gaza residents.[12]
Silver officially retired in 2014.[1] Following her retirement, and the 2014 Gaza War, Silver co-founded Women Wage Peace, an interfaith grassroots organization.[9][10] Silver also began volunteering with Road to Recovery and Project Rozana to transport Gazan patients who were traveling to Jerusalem for treatment.[1][3][11]
On October 4, 2023, Silver helped to organize a peace rally in Jerusalem, which attracted 1,500 Israeli and Palestinian women.[13][14]
PM NETANYAHU FIRES SHIN BET CHIEF RONEN BAR OVER ‘TRUST ISSUES,’ BAR REFUSES TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY
March 16, 2025 Israel Realtime
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to dismiss Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar. In response, Bar states that his firing is not related to Shin Bet’s failures on October 7 but is a personal matter. He asserts he will remain in his role until the hostages are returned, key investigations are completed, and his successors are ready.
“As someone who headed the Shin Bet on October 7, I took responsibility for the agency’s part and clearly stated that I intend to exercise it before my tenure ends. That is what is expected of everyone,” Bar says. He clarifies, “The prime minister made it clear that the decision was due to his claim of ongoing distrust between us.”
Bar highlights Shin Bet’s internal investigation, which exposed intelligence and operational failures on October 7, with corrective measures already underway. He also points to government policies that ignored repeated agency warnings leading up to the massacre.
He stresses the necessity of investigating all parties, including government policy and Netanyahu himself, and not just the IDF and Shin Bet, which have already been scrutinized. “The public has a right to know what led to the massacre and the collapse of Israel’s security,” Bar insists.
Given escalating security tensions and a possible return to fighting in Gaza, Bar states his decision to continue in the near term is based on public responsibility. He emphasizes his commitment to completing sensitive investigations and ensuring a smooth leadership transition at Shin Bet.
“The duty of trust placed on the Shin Bet is first and foremost for Israeli citizens. The prime minister’s expectation of personal loyalty, which contradicts the public interest, is entirely unacceptable,” he declares.
In a statement, the Shin Bet clarifies that Bar informed Netanyahu he would respect the law in any decision made regarding his dismissal.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has instructed the IDF to respond after gunfire from Lebanon hit a car in Avivim. Rejecting claims that the shot was an “errant bullet” from the funeral of a Hezbollah operative in a nearby village, Katz stated, “The claim that it was an errant bullet… is completely unacceptable. We will respond to any violation of the ceasefire.”
♦️ Israeli Apache helicopters launched an airstrike on the Jenin refugee camp in Judea and Samaria, targeting an area near the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque. Thick smoke rose over the eastern neighborhood, marking a significant escalation in Israel’s ongoing military operation in the region.
♦️ During a counterterrorism operation in northern Judea and Samaria, IDF soldiers uncovered a weapons storage facility in Nur Shams containing multiple weapons, a large quantity of ammunition, and bags filled with additional arms. Inside one of the bags, troops also found a vest belonging to UNRWA.
The confiscated weapons were handed over to Israeli security forces for further examination and investigation. The IDF remains committed to combating terrorism in Judea and Samaria to safeguard Israeli citizens.
The Houthis launched a large-scale military operation targeting the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and its escort warships in the northern Red Sea. The attack included 18 ballistic and cruise missiles along with a drone strike. The operation was carried out jointly by the missile force, air force, and naval forces. The Yemeni Armed Forces declared they would continue targeting all American warships in the Red and Arabian Seas in retaliation for what they call aggression against their country.
U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated that Iranian ships providing intelligence to the Houthis for targeting commercial vessels will be attacked by the U.S. Navy.

Yariv Levine is right to oust the current Attorney General Leonie Ben-Simon
If Israel is a real democracy, reflecting the change in government, Gali Baharav-Miara’s days as the Attorney General are numbered. Op-ed.
Mar 15, 2025, 9:00 PM (GMT+2) Israel National News – Of course we wish the Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara good health, however we hope her position is on its way to being dead in the water.
Justice Minister Yariv Levin has begun proceedings to remove her from her post. Her decisions have been constant attempts to override the government and the will of the people., She has thwarted the rule of this government by loudly challenging the existing rule, by disqualifying law after law proposed by the current government. At the beginning of Levin’s term, he sent her a law for approval left from the time of the Lapid-Bennett government, but she did not know that and disqualified it. That will be brought up in court by the government.
Government ministers admit that they ask ordinary Knesset members to suggest the laws they wish passed, as she seems to say no to almost anything from the government.
Many of her decisions actually represent the Deep State which until recently ruled the country. She is accused of politicizing her role, defies the government and its legislation; she ignores the democratic will of the people and the government that they voted in. However, her actions as part of the Deep State and the leftist rule will, hopefully, soon be history. Her attempts to resurrect it are what are behind the moves to get rid of her.
The job of the Attorney General is to assist the government in implementing its decisions after checking that laws do not contradict precedents and helping the government present them so that this is not the case.. Not Biarav-Miara. She is blocking them on behalf of the Opposition rather than doing her job. She has become politicized whilst many of her interpretations of the law are twisted to say the least, causing damage.
Despite the war and his heavy workload and responsibilities she has forced Netanyahu to testify multiple times a week in court. Her view is that the haredim should be integrated into the IDF by punishing them without trying to reach agreement. She believes in freezing funds to their institutions and families if they do not enlist, removing their drivers’ licenses and preventing them from leaving Israel. Netanyahu wants to fire Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar. He knows that Baharav-Miara will declare this illegal, given that Bar is probing some of Netanyahu’s staff for their connections with Qatar. She also argued that the judicial overhaul agenda would contravene the law.
The process of removing the Attorney General could take months and possibly be challenged in the High Court. Her tenure is for six years, of which only two have been served. Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, one of those leading the push to oust Baharav-Miara, asserted that once the government approves a no-confidence move against the attorney general, she will no longer have any authority.
There are suggestions to split the Attorney General’s double role between two people. In Israel, as opposed to the United States, the Attorney General’s Office has become a powerful institution in Israeli governance, taking over duties in a manner unparalleled in democratic theory and practice. The Israeli Attorney General is both the government’s legal counsel and the state’s chief prosecutor. In addition, in the USA, an ingoing president can switch the Attorney General when he enters the White House if he wishes, while in Israel that is not the case.
How interesting it is to watch how Israel has turned righwardt, with the current Attorney General in essence reflecting the agenda of the minority left, the Deep State and rulers of yesteryear. If Israel is a real democracy, reflecting the change in government, Gali Baharav-Miara’s days as the Attorney General are numbered.
It is only a matter of time before we will know.
IDF suspends soldiers who fired into Gaza during megilla reading [VIDEO] Uzi Baruch
Reservists film themselves firing towards Gaza as Haman’s name is mentioned during a reading of the Scroll of Esther, with one wearing a clown hat instead of a helmet and vest.
Mar 15, 2025 Israel National News – The IDF has suspended several reservists and their platoon commander after the soldiers filmed themselves firing towards Gaza while reading the Scroll of Esther on Purim.
The firing took place as the soldier reading the megilla (Scroll of Esther) reached Haman’s name; as Haman’s name is recited, crowds typically make noise to “wipe out” his name and memory.
The soldier reading the megilla was in a position exposed to Gaza, wearing – in defiance of orders – only a shirt and clown hat, instead of a helmet and protective vest, as required for the ground teams positioned near the bases.
The reservists published the video clip on social media with their faces revealed, in a way which endangered them under international law and exposed them to criminal proceedings.
An IDF spokesperson said: “After the incident became known to the commanders, the platoon commander and his soldiers were removed from Gaza and will face appropriate disciplinary action. The behavior of the soldiers in the video clip is in contradiction to IDF values and procedures in an operational area.”
