Barrage on the north: At least 50 rockets fired from Lebanon   Israel National News

For the first time in two days, sirens sounded throughout the Golan Heights warning of rocket fire. No injuries reported in the barrage, some of the rockets intercepted.

Apr 12, 2024, 8:26 PM (GMT+3) – A barrage of at least 50 rockets was fired on Friday evening from Lebanon towards the Golan Heights in northern Israel.

Sirens were sounded throughout the Golan Heights at around 7:30 p.m. and again just before 8:00 p.m. These marked the first time in two days that sirens warning of rocket fire were sounded in Israel.

There were no reports of injuries in the barrage. IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said some of the rockets were intercepted and others exploded in open areas.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said earlier on Friday evening that “a number of launches were identified crossing from Lebanon into the Upper Galilee in northern Israel today. No injuries were reported. The IDF struck the sources of the fire.”

Following previous sirens that sounded in the Upper Galilee regarding a suspected infiltration of a hostile aircraft, the IDF said that “it appears to have been a false identification.”

In addition on Friday evening, IDF fighter jets struck Hezbollah military compounds in which terrorists were operating in the area of Ayta ash Shab in southern Lebanon, as well as an additional Hezbollah military compound in the area of Taybeh in southern Lebanon.

Reservist collapses after being targeted by serial plaintiff    Israel National News

Ron Yaakobi returned from the battle and discovered a class action lawsuit against him for millions of shekels, filed by a pair of serial plaintiffs.

Apr 12, 2024, 3:09 PM (GMT+3) – Ron Yaakobi, a reservist and a furniture store owner, came back from fighting to find that a class action lawsuit had been filed against him for millions of shekels.

The lawsuit was filed by a pair of serial plaintiffs because the store’s website did not update its deals even though more than 35 days had passed since the start of the promotion, contrary to consumer protection law. Yaakobi, in contrast, claimed that he was in the reserves and therefore the prices were not updated.

Former Knesset member Abir Kara, who leads a fight against the ease with which class action lawsuits that bankrupt businesses are filed, shared that Ron fainted and was taken to the hospital due to the stress from the lawsuit and the calls he began to receive from the bank.

Kara shared: “Ron, the heroic reservist who risked his life and protected us, was hospitalized the night after his collapse. While I was on the line with him in conversation, the tough man who fought terrorists collapsed due to financial pressures and was taken to the hospital.”

He wrote about Ron: “An Israeli hero who went to defend us in the reserves and came back to discover that a cynical serial plaintiff had tailor-made this absurd lawsuit against him for an outrageous amount that would crush him and his family financially”.

Kara, who, as mentioned, fights this issue, wrote that “Ron is one of the dozens and hundreds of victims, simple entrepreneurs, business owners, taxpayers, and law-abiding citizens, whom serial plaintiffs target for ludicrous claims and crush their world”

He added, “Last night, what Hamas did not do, the ‘plaintiff’ did, dragging more than 40 entrepreneurs and business owners to court over petty claims and turning theft into a standard procedure. Ron called me in utter despair from the cynical exploitation attempt to benefit unfairly. He collapsed and was taken to the hospital while we were on a phone call. We can’t tolerate this anymore. Enough”.

Kara announced a fundraising to put an end to this method. “We will raise money for legislative change in the Knesset, for legal representation, and for our public activism and struggle over the next year and to assist all the victims of these bizarre extortion lawsuits, and also for Ron, if he wishes our help”.

Terrifying: New footage shows Noa Argamani crying as she is being abducted   Yoni Kempinski

In a new footage from Oct 7th obtained by The Daily Mail, Noa Argamani is seen crying and screaming while being abducted by a group of terrorists. Hostages Families Forum Headquarters: “We must all cry out her pain and secure the release of her and the other hostages now”

Apr 12, 2024, 5:17 PM (GMT+3) – In a new footage from Oct 7th obtained by The Daily Mail, Noa Argamani is seen crying and screaming while being abducted by a group of terrorists.

One man is seen holding her head down and covering her with a bag.

Watch

The Hostages Families Forum Headquarters published the following statement in reaction to the video:

The shocking footage obtained by The Daily Mail of Noa Argamani from October 7th makes it clear – every single day that our loved ones remain in Hamas captivity puts their lives at grave risk.

It’s been 189 days since Noa and 132 other children, women, and men were kidnapped by terrorists to Gaza.

The terror gripping Noa in this video has lasted 189 days already. We must all cry out her pain and secure the release of her and the other hostages now.

We are running out of time for Noa’s terminally ill mother Liora, who is battling stage four brain cancer, to see her only daughter again before she passes away. Just last month, Liora recorded a heartrending video plea to President Biden, begging to be able to hug Noa one last time.

Noa’s mother wants to see her, just as all the mothers, children, wives, and families of the hostages desperately want to see their loved ones freed immediately.

We reiterate our calls for the Israeli government and international community to do everything possible to secure the release of Noa, the 18 other women, and all 133 hostages before more innocent lives are tragically lost.

Mass search underway for missing teen in Binyamin   Israel National News

Hundreds of volunteers are searching for a 14-year-old shepherd after his flock returned to his farm without him.

Apr 12, 2024, 2:46 PM (GMT+3) – Searches are being conducted in the Binyamin area for Binyamin Ahimeir, a 14-year-old Jewish shepherd who has been missing since this morning.

According to the report, the shepherd left at six in the morning, but later the flock he led returned to the village of Malachei HaShalom without him.

Israeli Defense Forces soldiers, Border Police, trackers, Unit 636, dog handlers, and special forces, with the assistance of aerial reconnaissance and under the command of Binyamin Brigade Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Liron Biton, are participating in the search.

The regional council has stated that no additional volunteers are needed.

Representatives of his family claim to have been warned that multiple terrorist cells were targeting their area over the past month. The ISA is involved in the search but has not confirmed it to be a terrorist incident.

The IDF has completely encircled and closed off nea by Palestinian towns. Searchers, including large numbers of civilians, have been reported entering Palestinian cities. Violent clashes have broken out between residents and searchers. Palestinian media reports that one Palestinian has been killed and several more injured so far.

Due to the fears that the missing teen is in mortal danger, a religious dispensation has been issued by senior Rabbis for Jewish searchers to carry on the search into Shabbat, based on a fundamental precept of Jewish law that states that mortal danger overrides the prohibitions of Shabbat.

Hamas tells negotiators it doesn’t have 40 Israeli hostages needed for first round of ceasefire   By Alex Marquardt and Jeremy Diamond, CNN

April 10, 2024 – CNN — Hamas has indicated it is currently unable to identify and track down 40 Israeli hostages needed for the first phase of a ceasefire deal, according to an Israeli official and a source familiar with the discussions, raising fears that more hostages may be dead than are publicly known. The framework that has been laid out by negotiators says that during a first six-week pause in the fighting, Hamas should release 40 of the remaining hostages, including all the women as well as sick and elderly men. In exchange, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners would be released from Israeli prisons.

Hamas has told international mediators – which include Qatar and Egypt – it does not have 40 living hostages who match those criteria for release, both sources said.  [Emphasis added]

Hamas data on civilian casualties in Gaza war is misleading and easily disproved    Sefi Kedmi

Opinion: The international media should not play into the hands of terrorists who had no problem raping, murdering and kidnapping civilians on October 7, knowing that this would lead to a severe retaliation on their own civilians

04.09.24 | 17:49 – The global media consistently quotes Hamas’ figures regarding the casualties in Gaza. As of this writing, the number they cite uncritically is 33,000 Palestinian deaths in Gaza, but these numbers are inflated and hide the fact that, in this war, the civilian casualty mortality rate is relatively low. It’s imperative to understand these figures, as Hamas’ sole way to survive is by increasing and inflating the civilian casualty figures, in order to pressure the international community to stop Israel’s just war on the perpetrators of the October 7 massacre.

First, the matter of credibility is important. It doesn’t seem to bother those quoting these figures that these numbers come from Gaza’s Health Ministry, controlled by the terrorist organization Hamas, which has a track record of blatant lying and a clear interest in inflating civilian casualty numbers while concealing its own combatant casualties. According to the IDF’s estimates, approximately 12,000 Hamas fighters have been killed so far in the fighting.

It’s crucial to recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization whose data is misleading and easily disproved. The claim that 70% of the dead are women and children is easy to refute since, if the IDF eliminated 12,000 Hamas fighters, almost all of whom are men, then accordingly that would lead to the conclusion that every man killed in Gaza is a Hamas member (and more), including the elderly, as the remaining 30% who are not women and children are by definition men. Moreover, 12,000 military casualties constitute 36% of the 33,000 reported to have been killed, meaning that there are about 2,000 of the Hamas casualties claimed by the IDF as killed (6% of 33,000) who should be categorized as women and children. This strengthens the argument that many of those categorized as children killed are actually young Hamas fighters and/or that Hamas just lies.

This strengthens the argument that many of those categorized as children killed are actually young Hamas fighters and/or that Hamas just lies.

Additionally, it appears that in Gaza people don’t die unless it’s in a war. The natural mortality rate in the West Bank and Gaza, according to World Bank data, stands at 0.4%. Applied to the six months since the war began, this rate would be 0.2% out of a population of 2.2 million, meaning 4,400 individuals died in circumstances unrelated to the war, to Israel or to the conflict; however, they are of course counted by Hamas as war victims.

It’s highly probable that all these deaths are civilians, mostly elderly and sick individuals, not fighting-age combatants. Moreover, the actual natural death toll is likely much higher, with many dying due to lack of proper health care resulting from the war’s strain on Gaza’s health care system. These thousands are also war victims in the war instigated by Hamas and other terror organizations, who exploit humanitarian facilities for military purposes, thus making them military targets, which lead to them being attacked. Had they stayed civilian, these places would have not only provided care for the civilian population in Gaza, but would have also offered refuge for many.

These numbers alone reduce the civilian death toll in Gaza caused by Israeli attacks to at most 15,000 and probably even less, meaning less than half of the casualties are civilians. In modern warfare history, a ratio of less than 1:1 between combatants and civilians is considered a very low civilian casualty rate. In the Vietnam War, the ratio was 1:3, in the Chechen Wars 1:4.3, in NATO’s war in Serbia 1:4, and in the Iraq War, civilian casualties accounted for 77% of deaths. However, it’s crucial not to stop here, as even 15,000 civilian deaths are a significant and tragic number that must be acknowledged.

The inside story of the aid convoy that was hit in Gaza    By  Center for Near East Policy Research

April 9, 2024

  • IDF has revealed that Hamas PURPOSELY drew fire to the WCK truck.
  • At around 10 pm, the IDF noticed suspicious activity as the WCK vehicle was joined by a convoy of several other Hamas vehicles.
  • Hamas terrorists then climbed ONTO and INTO the WCK truck and FIRED several times indiscriminately into the air to ensure the IDF would see them.
  • The convoy then split up and entered a hanger, where it became difficult to distinguish between the Hamas vehicles and the WCK vehicle.
  • IDF attempted to call both the WCK workers and WCK HQ on TWO separate occasions to confirm whether they were with the Hamas convoy but their calls remained unanswered.
  • When the vehicles left the hangar OVER AN HOUR LATER the IDF drone unit misidentified the WCK vehicle for a vehicle from the Hamas convoy and mistakenly struck.
  • The IDF has provided their full findings to both WCK and Jose Andres, and are now requiring new stickers for aid vehicles which can be seen via drones even in the dark.

How Biden is Sabotaging His Peace Deal Between Israel and Saudi Arabia    by Bassam Tawil
April 10, 2024 at 5:00 am

  • Recently, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said after meeting with [Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed] bin Salman that there is “good progress” on Saudi Arabia-Israel normalization talks. “I believe we can reach an agreement which would present an historic opportunity… We had a very good discussion about the work that we’ve been doing for many months now on normalization, and that work is moving forward. We’re continuing to make good progress.”
  • [T]here is good reason to believe that the Saudis will eventually agree to normalize their relations with Israel. In order for that to happen, however, Hamas, which is strongly opposed to any peace with Israel and does not recognize its right to exist, must be defeated and eradicated.
  • It is no secret that Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries despise Hamas and consider it a threat to their own national security….
  • There is no doubt that the Saudis, together with the UAE, Bahrain and the even the Palestinian Authority, are quietly praying for Israel to finish the job and get rid of Hamas. These Arabs, understandably, cannot express their views in public lest they be accused of “colluding” with Israel.
  • Arab states are motivated to sign peace treaties with Israel when they see Israel as a winner.
  • By pressuring Israel not to invade Rafah, the US administration is sabotaging its own efforts to persuade Saudi Arabia to normalize its ties with Israel…
  • By demanding that Israel refrain from entering Rafah, the Biden administration is actually asking Israel to forget about recovering the 130 hostages being raped and tortured by Hamas every day — which still include six Americans – and to lose the war. This is something that neither Israel nor Hamas’s Arab enemies — nor even Biden — can afford to accept.

Matti Friedman: Why I Got a Gun   By Matti Friedman

My Glock is an ugly little monument to the historic threat facing my family, my neighbors, and all of Israel.

April 9, 2024 – JERUSALEM — I was recently at an indoor shooting range in Jerusalem watching new gun-license applicants blast paper targets with mixed success—ordinary people, some rotund guys of early middle age, a man in his 60s with the air of a Talmud professor, a young mother who’d been evacuated from the southern town of Sderot after Hamas terrorists killed dozens of her neighbors on October 7, now living in a cramped hotel room in our city with her husband and two kids.

She fired her rounds with particular intensity, or so it seemed to me, though of course even she couldn’t turn back the clock to October 6. When the instructor was done with her, it was my turn.

The counter at the entrance was swarmed three customers deep—the staff have never seen anything like the last six months. One salesman was explaining the advantages of the Israeli Masada pistol, named, unfortunately, for the site of the mass Jewish suicide that ended our previous stretch of sovereignty here in 73 CE. A religious woman in a skirt, her hair covered with a scarf, was trying out a stomach holster that could be concealed under her shirt—she’s a kindergarten teacher and doesn’t want to frighten the children.

The traditional Israeli attitude to guns is often misunderstood, particularly by observers peering through an American lens. Guns are visible everywhere here, and many visitors, startled by the sight of heavily armed young men and young women in uniform carrying M-16s on the bus or at the bar, assume an enthusiasm for weapons and a free approach to acquiring them.

But Israelis have no legal right to bear arms, no fear of government tyranny in the American tradition, and a fraction of the crime fears that Americans accept as normal. (In an ordinary year, Jerusalem, a city of nearly one million residents, tends to see about a dozen violent deaths; in Indianapolis, a slightly smaller city, the homicide number tends to be over 200.)

For the average Israeli, guns are simply a tool for protection against the Arab violence that has shaped this society over the last century. Like the army, they’re a necessary evil. Most of the armed people you’ll see in an Israeli city are soldiers or police. In the United States, according to a Pew study last year, 32 percent of citizens own guns. In Israel, it was under 2 percent.

That was before October 7.

Biggest Surprise! Israeli F-35s Directly Hit The Iranian Base! Big Explosion At Intelligence Center!   [10:37]   Yair Pinto

Apr 7, 2024 – On the 184th day of the war initiated by Hamas, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing to open a new front in the Gaza Strip. Due to the prolonged duration of the operations and the fatigue of the units, the IDF begins to withdraw from operational areas, especially in the south of Gaza around Khan Yunis. This withdrawal reflects the IDF’s increasing concern about the Iranian threat.

According to military reports, Hamas has suffered significant losses, and the organization is reported to have only one hiding place left in Rafah. It is also reported that the IDF has targeted Hamas’ sources of weapons and funding from Iran, as well as its main facilities for manufacturing weapons and ammunition.

However, there are signs that Iran is preparing for an attack on Israel. There are reports of a large military buildup in western Iran, with deployment of air defense systems. Additionally, there is an increase in shipments to Iranian proxy groups in military bases in the southwest of Syria. In response to these developments, the US military has raised its alert level to protect Israeli and American assets in the region. The Israeli Defense Minister has stated that Israel is prepared for any scenario, and preparations for a ground operation on the northern front are underway. The logistics command emphasizes that the units can move rapidly. As for Iran, the situation is getting complicated! We recommend watching the full video for further details.

Don’t try to massacre Jews in the Jewish state of Israel and you want lose your home   Avi Below | Pulse of Israel

April 9, 2024 (Telegram) – IDF soldiers returned from the fighting in Gaza saying that in every house there either were weapons, tunnels, pro-terror materials, or children’s books motivating the children to kill Jews and destroy Israel.

Gaza is an enemy population that actively took part in the Oct. 7th massacre, with unarmed civilians of all ages storming into Israel, burning houses, killing innocent Israelis, looting their homes, and those who didn’t take part, celebrated in the streets of Gaza as the terrorists paraded living and dead Israeli captives. It’s all on video.

You want to deter an enemy population? Make sure their homes are destroyed and entice them to live somewhere else, where they won’t be able to infiltrate into Israel and kill us. That’s the ABC of war, if an aggressor attacks & loses, then then lose the land they attacked from. If you don’t want to lose your land then don’t attack!!!

Once again, the Arab Muslims play crybaby to the world, as they did in 1948. They kill Jews. They lose the war. They lose their homes, and then blame the Jews. #Nakba2024 is a repeat of #nakba1948. Both the direct fault of the Arab Muslim world, yet they erroneously blame the Jews.

The lesson is, don’t try to massacre Jews in the Jewish state of Israel and you want lose your home.

THE LARGEST NUMBER OF HUMANITARIAN AID TRUCKS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WAR ENTERED THE GAZA STRIP TODAY

IDF spokesperson: The IDF, via the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Unit (COGAT), is continuing efforts to facilitate the transfer of hundreds of trucks containing food supplies and humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip every day.

Today, 419 humanitarian aid trucks passed through the Kerem Shalom and Nitzana border crossings. As part of the humanitarian effort, about 258 food packages were also airdropped across the Gaza Strip today.

Furthermore, last night, the Coordination and Liaison Administration for the Gaza Strip, together with the IDF Southern Command, coordinated the entry of 29 trucks containing humanitarian aid to the northern Gaza Strip.

The IDF will continue its efforts to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip by land, air and sea in accordance with international law.

New bill: Full sovereignty to be imposed over Jordan Valley next October 7   Israel National News

According to the bill, introduced by MK Dan Illouz, the imposition of sovereignty will come into effect on October 7th, 2024, a year after the massacre. ‘A true victory will be possible only when the enemy feels that October 7th was a mistake.’

Apr 7, 2024, 5:50 PM (GMT+3) –

Member of Knesset Dan Illouz has introduced a bill together with a group of right-wing members of Knesset calling for the imposition of full sovereignty over all Jordan Valley territories.

According to the bill, the imposition of sovereignty will come into effect on October 7th, 2024, a year after the massacre. According to those behind it, the move will represent a victory and link the imposition of sovereignty to this fateful date.

“A true victory will be possible only when the enemy feels that October 7th was a mistake, turning it into a day of mourning for them. To achieve this, we must take two central steps – crush terrorism and deepen our roots in our land,” Chairman of the Jordan Valley Sovereignty Caucus, MK Dan Illouz, stated.

“Our brave soldiers are destroying the terrorists with courage on the battlefield every day, defeating Hamas and dismantling its capabilities. Now, we must complete the task by deepening our roots in our land and imposing sovereignty over wide areas of the country. This will make it clear to any enemy seeking to expel us from our land that the outcome of such a terrible action will be both the end of its existence and will result in the deepening of our roots in our land,” he added.

MK Illouz initiated the move together with the Sovereignty Movement, stating: “Israel is under attack not only from the north and south but also faces an existential threat from the eastern border. The majority of the weapons transferred to the Palestinian Authority pass through the Jordan Valley. Iran is working to undermine Jordanian rule and to take control of the eastern Jordanian border to attack Israel from point-blank range. Additionally, imposing sovereignty over the Jordan Valley will close the option for establishing a Palestinian state. The State of Israel must return to proactive measures and not be dragged into responding to our enemies’ attacks. Imposing sovereignty over the Jordan Valley will be a deterrent step and also a step towards the desired victory.”

Developing: IDF Withdraws Most Ground Troops from Southern Gaza   By Margaret Flavin

Apr. 7, 2024 9:40 am – On Sunday, the Israeli military said it has reduced its ground troops in the southern Gaza Strip following the conclusion of its months-long operation in the city of Khan Younis.

In the statement, the IDF said it was pulling its 98th commando division “to recuperate and prepare for future operations.”

NBC News reports, “The Nahal brigade and the 162nd division remain in Gaza, which the IDF describes as ‘a significant force’ that will continue to ‘operate in the Gaza Strip, and will preserve the IDF’s freedom of action and its ability to conduct precise intelligence based operations.’”

The Nahal Brigade is focused on securing the “Netzarim Corridor,” which crosses Gaza from the Be’eri area in southern Israel to the Strip’s coast.

The Times of Israel reports:

The corridor enables the IDF to carry out raids in northern and central Gaza, prevents Palestinians from returning to the northern part of the Strip, and allows humanitarian organizations to deliver aid directly to northern Gaza.

Hours after the withdrawal, five rockets were fired from the Khan Younis area at communities near the Gaza border.

According to the IDF, some of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

Smotrich freezes purchase of fighter squadrons from the US    JNS

The decision puts on hold deals worth a combined $9.5 billion to procure a squadron of F-15 fighter jets and a squadron of F-35 fighter jets.

April 4, 2024 – Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has informed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his intention to freeze the planned purchase of two fighter squadrons until the government agrees to establish a public committee that will advise on the distribution of the increased defense budget, Israel’s Globes business daily reported this week.

The decision puts on hold two deals worth a combined NIS 35 billion ($9.5 billion) to procure a squadron of F-15 fighter jets and a squadron of F-35 fighter jets from the United States.

“In a joint agreement that I spearheaded with the ministries of finance and defense regarding the amended 2024 budget, it was agreed to appoint a public committee for this purpose, which would submit its recommendations within about two months,” said Smotrich.

He claimed that since the agreement was signed earlier this year, “The Ministry of Defense has prevented the establishment of the committee while seeking to create facts on the ground that require huge budgets, including through these aircraft purchase deals.”

Smotrich’s proposed committee would include representatives of the Finance Ministry, the defense establishment, former senior officials from both sides as well as external experts. However, an agreement on the panel’s composition has yet to be reached.

The missive slammed the defense ministry’s “expectation to receive a blank check for huge amounts which have massive consequences for the economy and the quality of life of Israeli citizens, without any critical thinking, brainstorming, professional, public and government discussion.”

“Approving a deal of this magnitude without the consent of the Ministry of Finance is unprecedented, and I have no intention of approving it,” concluded Smotrich.
