Ex-Fatah leader Mohammad Dahlan considered to lead Gaza after war – report

A US report says that ‘some U.S., Israeli and Arab officials’ see the exiled leader as a ‘temporary solution to a dilemma facing postwar Gaza’

July 25, 2024 at 08:32 AM i24NEWS – A report on Thursday by The Wall Street Journal suggests that Mohammad Dahlan could be selected to lead the Gaza Strip after the Israel-Hamas war.

A former leader from the Fatah organization, Dahlan is blessed with no ties to Hamas and being tried in absentia by the Palestinian Authority in 2014, as well as growing up in southern Gaza’s Khan Yunis.

“Some U.S., Israeli and Arab officials” see the exiled leader as a “temporary solution to a dilemma facing postwar Gaza,” the report said. Israeli political analysts believe that Dahlan would be a figure with whom Jerusalem could collaborate.

The media also cited “Arab and Hamas officials” claiming that Dahlan had begun discussions with Hamas and Fatah about possibly supervising aid distribution in a future Palestinian-administered Gaza. Last February, Dahlan, who served as head of security in Gaza in a previous Fatah government and who currently resides in Dubai, told The New York Times that an independent Palestinian leader, supported by Arab peacekeeping forces, could oversee the reconstruction of Gaza. This proposal comes in a context of intense reflection on the future of Gaza after the current conflict.

Report: Hamas rejects latest Israeli hostage proposal ‘without reading it’

‘The messages from Hamas are bizarre because we haven’t sent it yet, nobody has read it yet. Even the negotiators haven’t got it yet’   [VIDEOS]

July 26, 2024 at 07:24 AM  i24NEWS – Hamas on Friday rejected Israel’s latest proposal for a hostage release deal before they had a chance to see its contents, according to a report citing Israeli, Palestinian and Egyptian sources.

The latest Israeli proposal fell short of meeting the Palestinian jihadists’ key demand of unrestricted return of Palestinians to northern Gaza, according to the officials cited by Reuters.

Israeli authorities are reluctant to greenlight this in the knowledge that Hamas terrorists would infiltrate those areas of the enclave civilians would return to.

“The messages from Hamas are bizarre because we haven’t sent it yet, nobody has read it yet. Even the negotiators haven’t got it yet. They will read it before transferring it to Hamas for their reaction,” said an unnamed Israeli official.

In a speech to the U.S. Congress on Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel was engaged “in intense efforts” to secure the release of hostages held in Gaza.

Pelosi: Netanyahu speech was the worst by any foreign dignitary   Elad Benari

Even though she did not attend, former US House Speaker criticizes Netanyahu’s speech to Congress: He should spend his time on a deal to bring the hostages home.

Jul 25, 2024, 5:19 AM (GMT+3) – Former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress as the “worst” in history.

“Benjamin Netanyahu’s presentation in the House Chamber today was by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi wrote on social media site X after Netanyahu’s speech.

“Many of us who love Israel spent time today listening to Israeli citizens whose families have suffered in the wake of the October 7th Hamas terror attack and kidnappings,” she added.

“These families are asking for a ceasefire deal that will bring the hostages home – and we hope the Prime Minister would spend his time achieving that goal,” concluded Pelosi.

Pelosi was among the nearly half of House and Senate Democrats who chose to skip Netanyahu’s speech and also one of the leaders of the attempt to impeach former President Trump.

She had previously spoken out against the invitation for Netanyahu to address Congress, describing it as “wrong” and adding that she would not have invited him had she still been serving as House Speaker.

Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont, who is an independent but caucuses with the Democrats and is known for his criticism of Netanyahu, also chose not to attend and said that the Prime Minister “should not be welcomed into the United States Congress. On the contrary, his policies in Gaza and the West Bank and his refusal to support a two-state solution should be roundly condemned.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) announced already in mid-June that she will not be attending Netanyahu’s speech, claiming he “has created a humanitarian catastrophe. He has also made clear that he does not support US policy for a two-state solution that will let the people of Israel and the Palestinians develop their own nation, self-determination, live with dignity.”

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), the most senior Jewish Member of the House of Representatives, said on Tuesday that Netanyahu “is the worst leader in Jewish history since the Maccabean king who invited the Romans into Jerusalem over 2100 years ago”, but still attended Wednesday’s speech “out of respect for the State of Israel and the office of the Prime Minister.”

Also not attending Netanyahu’s speech was Vice President Kamala Harris, who also serves as president of the Senate. Her aide said on Monday that Harris will be unable to preside over Netanyahu’s speech, as she is traveling to Indianapolis for a previously-scheduled event.

On Tuesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson blasted Harris for choosing not to attend Netanyahu’s speech.

“It’s outrageous to me and inexcusable that Kamala Harris is boycotting this joint session. This is a historic moment, it’s an important moment for the country, the gravity of this situation can not be overstated. And yet, Kamala Harris will abandon her seat. As you all know, as the Vice President and as the President of the Senate, she is supposed to be seated next to me at the rostrum. She will not be there because she refuses to attend. She needs to be held accountable for that, she needs to be asked very serious questions about why,” said Johnson.

Soldiers using donated gear to face disciplinary action

The IDF has announced that soldiers found using any gear not supplied by the IDF could be brought up on charges.

Jul 25, 2024, 3:08 PM (GMT+3)  Israel National Newsi24NEWS has reported that the IDF will soon begin taking significantly stricter measures to prevent unapproved donations from reaching soldiers.

The commander of the Ground Forces, Major Tamir Yadai, commented on a recent report on the subject of the donations that have been streaming into Israeli units since the war began: “The findings are very alarming and disturbing. There is no transparency, there is no control, no record of what exists and what does not. Some things are being done that border on criminal or endanger the forces.”

At the outset of the war, soldiers reported there were severe shortages of equipment for the combatants who reported for duty. The most needed items were tactical helmets, ceramic vests, and sights.

Despite repeated IDF statements that there is enough equipment for everyone, the reports from frontline soldiers still persist, along with claims that what equipment they have been issued is frequently substandard and dangerous to use.

Soldiers have shared videos showing equipment dated from the Vietnam era, damaged beyond use, or expired after many years in storage, and units from every part of Israel have circulated fundraising messages appealing for donations of every kind of clothing, equipment, and tactical gear, from socks to ground-penetrating radar arrays for drones.

Jewish communities and supporters from Israel from all over the world have risen to the occasion, and it is conservatively estimated that the total value of the donations to Israel has reached $1.5B. Israeli journalist Yinon Magal shared a photo of a soldier he received stating “everything I am wearing, head to toe, was donated, with the exception of my rifle.”

The commander of the Ground Forces is now promoting severe disciplinary measures for soldiers who received donated equipment, and in extreme cases the Military Police Corps would be involved. This directive has been passed to the soldiers. Some units in the Paratrooper Brigade have already received warnings that they would be court-martialed if they took any item donated.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Office said: “Throughout the war, the IDF repeatedly emphasized that the procurement of military weaponry is organized in a systematic and professional process, which includes all the necessary tests – both in terms of the quality of the equipment and its suitability for its purpose, and in ensuring the required safety standard. Likewise, the use of non-standard equipment, which has been assimilated into units outside the standard channels for assimilating equipment – may create a significant risk of ineffectiveness and/or safety hazard. The tests conducted on donated equipment are intended to ensure the equipment’s soundness. Donated equipment that does not meet the IDF standard will be prohibited from use. The use of equipment that does not meet IDF standards endangers the lives of soldiers in the field.”

Kinneret beach closed after 2 suspected cases of brain-eating amoeba

Gai beach closed after man dies from naegleria fowleri infection, 10-year-old hospitalized with brain infection. Both victims had been at that beach.

Jul 24, 2024, 10:53 PM (GMT+3)  Israel National NewsThe Health Ministry announced Wednesday evening that Gai Beach on the Kinneret would be closed after two people contracted a rare brain-eating amoeba infection after swimming at the beach.

Earlier this month, a 25-year-old man died after contracting primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, a condition caused by the amoeba naegleria Fowleri. A 10-year-old boy is currently hospitalized with a brain infection believed to be caused by the same amoeba. The boy is currently unconscious and on an artificial respirator.

The Health Ministry stated that both victims had been at the Gai Beach and asked anyone who was recently at the local water park at the beach to seek an examination at the nearest emergency room if they experienced one or more of the following symptoms: fever, headaches, blurred vision or vomiting.

Naegleria Fowleri, which is colloquially known as the “brain-eating amoeaba,” is found in freshwater, puddles, or stagnant water sources of various types, and typically causes infections through the nose during activities such as swimming. The amoeba cells consume cells from the victim’s brain.

Less than 500 cases of naegleriasis caused by naegleria Fowleri have been reported worldwide, though there has been a recent uptick in the number of reported cases. The fatality rate is nearly 100%. Only seven people are known to have survived the disease.

The amoeba is found in fresh water, puddles, or stagnant water sources of various types.

Likud MK: IDF did not keep its promise to haredim   Hezki Baruch

‘Secular public must understand that may haredim who enlisted in the IDF did not return to their community, because the IDF did not keep its promise,’ MK Galit Distel Atbaryan says.

Jul 25, 2024, 1:01 PM (GMT+3)  Israel National News MK Galit Distel Atbaryan (Likud) on Thursday held a special Knesset session on the matter of haredi enlistment in the IDF.

At the session, entitled, “Voices from Within: Haredim Speak About the IDF Draft,” Distel Atbaryan said, “We have in our midst a community in real pain, which has zero platform to make its voice heard. I want to ask forgiveness, in my name and in the name of many of Israel’s citizens, for the fact that you have been persecuted for the past two years, and especially since October 7.”

“Many of you are afraid to leave home because of the incitement. There is incitement and violence from people who went out to your streets and to your homes, and hit [you] with sticks, just because you are haredim. And for that I ask forgiveness.”

She added, “There will not be any effective enlistment of haredim if it is done without you and behind your backs, and nothing will be solved without mutual trust, without persecution and without sanctions by the IDF and all the other systems.”

“The secular public must understand that many of the haredim who enlisted in the IDF did not return to their communities, because the IDF did not keep its promise” to adapt military service to the haredi community’s needs. “No one has the right to push themselves into your education and culture. Only by means of a mediation process which respects you will we see a change. We are here to make your voice heard.”

▪️FIGHTER ARRESTED RESPONDS.

Yonatan Cohen, a fighter who on Oct. 7 had to use the equipment of killed fighters to defend himself and return fire – is now accused of stealing that equipment by the authorities.

The warrior’s response:

On Oct. 7 understanding of the difficult situation in the south in terms of fighting, I put on my uniform and without being called headed to my friends in the south who were fighting. In combat I grabbed combat equipment and weapons that we took from fallen fighters. In combat, we took part in a number of combat arenas where we fought and assisted as much as we could.

On Oct, 8 I heard that the reserve unit I command was called up and I responded, so that I could in order to fight with my unit.   The weapons and equipment I took from the dead on Oct. 7 I turned in to the unit.

About two months later, I was arrested during reserve duty by investigators from the Shin Bet who claimed that I was suspected of stealing and illegally possessing and using equipment on Oct. 7.

They stopped me in the regiment and made my equipment visible to my soldiers and commanders when I was taken in front of them, in terrible shame and humiliation.  I was then interrogated twice.

When I came to return to the reserves, the army informed me that until the case is closed they are freezing me and are not willing to let me fight with my unit as if I were a class 2 criminal.

🔸DEAL NEWS.. New demand from Hamas, they informed Egypt that they are demanding (according to El-Ad newspaper):

1 – A complete cessation of the activities of the Israeli army inside the Gaza Strip “so that the negotiations can continue in a proper and positive manner”.

2 – They also demand the dismantling of what was built in the Philadelphi border corridor and the (expanding) border separation zone “to complete the negotiations”.

3 – The “return of the displaced to northern Gaza and freedom of movement in most areas of the Gaza Strip”, meaning the dismantling of the Netzer cross-Gaza splitting corridor.

.. Egyptian sources say Israel responded positive to the demand to abandon control of the border.  Seems unlikely to us.

▪️TRAIN ROUTE DOWN.. Be’er Sheva line, for maintenance.

▪️ADJUSTING PM SCHEDULE IN THE US.. meeting with President Biden and VP Harris moved to Thursday, Trump meeting moved to Friday in Florida, PM will spend Shabbat in Florida and leave for Israel on Saturday night.

▪️JERUSALEM PUBLIC PARKING RATES TO DOUBLE.. for non-residents, starting August, to NIS 12.40 per hour.  Residents have to register their car with the city to get the resident rate.

▪️DUE TO SOME IDF DONATION ABUSES.. the commander of ground forces intends to end the practice of units accepting equipment upgrade donations.  Details not yet known, and there may be a lot of pushback on this – particularly from reserve units.

▪️MIN. OF HOUSING – DISCOUNT APT’s FOR SOLDIERS.. 20% of all the apartments discounted in the first-time-buyer discount lottery, are reserved for IDF soldiers.

Supreme Court accepts Palestinian Arab land claim near Hebron

According to the petition, the IDF must allow Palestinian Arabs illegally residing on the land to return to it and to secure the area for their use.

Jul 23, 2024, 11:43 AM (GMT+3)  Israel National NewsThe Supreme Court accepted a petition filed by Palestinian Authority Arabs who had illegally squatted at the archaeological site of Khirbet Zanuta, demanding that the IDF allow and secure their return to the site.

The Supreme Court also accepted the claim of the squatters that they were threatened by settlers in the area, although no evidence was presented to that effect.

According to the judges, the State is obligated to assist the squatters to return. Justice Daphne Barak-Erez even demanded of the State’s representative “more effective measures against the settlers to maintain public order.”

The archaeological site of Khirbet Zanuta is located in the southern Hebron Hills, near the settlement of Shim’a in Area C, which is under full Israeli control. In the early 2000s, Arabs from the village of Dura and the surrounding area illegally invaded the site and built numerous structures there, destroying the antiquities found there, which date to the Roman period.

In early 2024 the Arabs abandoned the compound and petitioned for a ruling that the army secure their return to the site. One of the judges asked the petitioner’s counsel about the destruction at the heritage site, and she dismissed the claim by saying that “we all live on an archaeological site.”

Concurrently, a petition was filed this month by the Regavim movement against the return of the Palestinian Arab squatters to the site, in which it was written that alongside the claim that the residents of the area feel threatened, “the Palestinians’ petition ignores the fact that they lived there illegally and under the auspices of a freeze order that the Supreme Court issued a decade ago. They were not evicted and took advantage of the situation to continue developing and expanding the outpost among the ruins of the heritage site.”

Meir Deutsch, Regavim CEO, said that “adopting the false narrative of ‘settler violence’ without presenting a shred of evidence is serious and constitutes a dangerous precedent. Not only did the invaders of Khirbet Zanuta gain a full decade of non-enforcement of the building code – taking advantage of the ‘get out of jail free’ card that the Supreme Court had given them and the wink-and-nod of the state authorities, now, the state adds insult to injury and instead of restoring the site and preserving it, it allows the lawbreakers to return to the site and resume their invasion and destruction of the site.”

“The law enforcement agencies should investigate and probe the allegations of violence in Khirbet Zanuta, and if indeed there is any truth to them, the perpetrators should be brought to justice.”

The Coalition of Organizations for Preservation of Heritage Sites in Judea and Samaria stated, “In a hearing held in the Supreme Court regarding the request of the squatters of Khirbet Zanuta to return to the archaeological site, we clarified our position that it is impossible to make a pig’s trough kosher and allow the residents to return and continue the destruction of antiquities. The very fact of a discussion that deals with the return of plunderers and marauders to an archaeological site under the auspices and approval of the state is an injustice without parallel, and we hope that a decision will be taken that takes into account the historical significance of the site and that justice will be done to history.”

Eliram Azulay, head of the Mount Hebron Regional Council, summed up: “I very much hope that the state and the Supreme Court justices will come to their senses and make it clear that this is an incursion into a significant archaeological site and not allow the infiltrators to return. We as a council will continue to act to preserve the entire Mount Hebron area.”

Israeli Olympic delegation departs to compete in 2024 Paris Games

France to provide Israeli athletes with 24-hour security after far-left lawmaker said Israel’s delegation is ‘unwelcome’

July 22, 2024 at 09:55 AM  i24NEWS – The majority of the Israeli Olympic delegation left Monday afternoon for Paris, ahead of the opening ceremony for the 2024 Games scheduled for Friday.

“We feel like emissaries of the State of Israel,” said Yael Arad, president of the Israeli Olympic Committee, during a press conference at Ben Gurion airport before departure. “Our athletes are here to accomplish their dreams, but there is an additional dimension, that of a national mission.”

Arad emphasized that the delegation hopes to return to Israel with medals, “but our first victory is to be here, not to have given up, and to have participated in hundreds of competitions since October 7… What guides us is the flag of Israel.”

The Israeli delegation departs with enhanced security presence due to tensions and threats surrounding Israel’s participation in the 2024 Olympic Games, in the context of the ongoing war against Hamas in Gaza. France has said it will provide the athletes with round-the-clock security.

A lawmaker for the radical left-wing, Thomas Portes, said at a pro-Palestinian rally on Saturday that Israeli athletes are “unwelcome” over the war in the Gaza Strip, sparking outrage.

French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné has stated that “the Israeli delegation is welcome in France” and labelled Thomas Portes’ remarks as “irresponsible and dangerous.”

Israel is sending 88 athletes to Paris to compete in 15 disciplines, hoping to win four or five medals. The opening ceremony along the Seine on Friday evening will see Israel represented by flag bearers Andi Murez (swimming) and Peter Paltchick (judo), both new immigrants.

French minister: 24-hour security for Israeli athletes at Olympic games    Tziki Brandwine

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin promises increased security for Israel’s Olympics delegation, says athletes will receive security 24 hours a day courtesy of French police force.

Jul 22, 2024, 1:48 PM (GMT+3) INNFrench Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on Monday announced increased security measures for the Israeli delegation to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Darmanin promised that the 88 athletes representing Israel in the various sports will receive 24-hour security, courtesy of French police.

The decision was made because France understands that since the Munich Games, Israeli athletes are a target for attacks, especially recently, he added.

Darmanin also responded to French politician Thomas Portes, who declared at a rally that “Israeli athletes are not welcome at the Paris Olympics.”

Portes’ comment, Darmanin stressed, was “antisemitic” and “placed a target on the backs of the Israeli athletes.”

“I want to express my disgust at that. I want to assure the Israeli athletes of our full protection, like all athletes, but particularly them, also welcoming them,” he added.

‘Arrive in France, we’ll kill you’ – Israeli athletes receive numerous death threats ahead of olympic games

July 21, 2024  All Israel News – Israeli athletes participating in the Olympics, to begin in Paris, France on Friday, received anonymous email threats regarding a repeat of the terrorist attack against Israeli athletes that took place at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

“Arrive in France, we’ll kill you” and “Prepare for the Intifada” were some of the threats sent to 15 Israeli Olympic athletes and their teams last Thursday and Friday. These were reportedly just some of the many death threats, hate messages and other vitriol spewed online that Israeli Olympians have been receiving over the last few days.

According to local media, Israeli athletes received both online hate messages written in poor Hebrew and calls from foreign numbers.

During the Munich 1972 Olympics, Fatah’s Black September terror organization brutally tortured and murdered 11 Israeli athletes. At the time, the Palestinian Fatah party was led by PLO leader Yasser Arafat and Palestinian Authority (PA) leader Mahmoud Abbas, who is the current leader of Fatah.

Abbas was Arafat’s right-hand man and has since refused to apologize for the 1972 terror attack, calling it a “heroic operation.”

According to Israeli Olympic Committee Chairwoman Yael Arad, the Olympic team athletes were prepared for the threats and hate messages.

“It was clear to us that such a troll would come. We prepared for it. We instructed the athletes on how to act when it comes and we had many conversations and meetings on the subject,” she said, according to Walla News.

The Israeli Olympic team includes 88 athletes. They landed in Paris under a large security presence that included armed agents from Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). The Telegraph reported that it has become the largest-ever security operation for Israeli athletes at the Olympic Games.

Israel’s Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar told The Telegraph that the security preparations began one year ago. All athletes have received security details from Shin Bet, he said.

“We know there are threats [against the team] but we don’t want to talk about it,” Zohar said, adding that the team’s security budget had been doubled because of the Israel-Hamas war.

“We try our best to make sure the athletes feel free but also safe and not afraid. We don’t want them to notice the security guards too much.”

Shin Bet agents are reportedly “equipped with weapons and technologies” and will be assisted by “local security and police forces,” former Shin Bet officer, Lior Akerman, told The Telegraph.

“Of course, it is not possible to go into detail about the security methods, but the combination of Israeli experience and knowledge, together with the cooperation with local security forces, provides an excellent and complete answer to the security of the delegation,” he said.

Former Shin Bet chief, Yaakov Peri, admitted there are multiple threats at the Olympics, but said the Iranian regime is behind them all.

“It can be Hamas or other terrorists, but Iran is behind almost everything. And France is of particular concern due to the level of antisemitism there,” Peri said.

On Friday, French police officers arrested a man who tried to kill a taxi driver with a knife while expressing his support for Hamas.

Israel has prevented many terrorist attacks by Iran and other groups abroad in recent months, warning in March that the risk of terrorism for Israelis abroad was especially high, particularly at the Eurovision Song Competition earlier this year.

Zohar stressed that the high risk is a threat to everyone, not only Jews and Israelis.

“They hate the free world and everyone who believes in democracy. They hate Christians, they hate Jews and anyone who doesn’t share their beliefs,” he warned.

As Athletes Head to Paris, Israeli Olympians Threatened: “Prepare for the Intifada!”   By Margaret Flavin

Jul. 21, 2024 11:20 am – The world is gearing up for the 2024 Summer Olympics as the July 26 opening ceremony in Paris, France, approaches.

Athletes from Israel, however, are facing increasingly violent threats and will receive additional security from armed Shin Bet agents.

Israel’s minister of culture and sport, Miki Zohar, told The Telegraph, “We know there are threats (against the team) but we don’t want to talk about it.”

“We try our best to make sure the athletes feel free but also safe and not afraid. We don’t want them to notice the security guards too much. We want them to feel confident so they can do their job,” he said.

The increased security stems from very public anti-Israel protests in Paris as well as specific, violent online threats directed at the athletes.

According to The Jerusalem Post:

Walla reported that, over the weekend, Israeli athletes received online messages written in poor Hebrew. Many also received calls from foreign numbers. On Thursday and Friday, 15 athletes and their teams received identical death threats via email, warning them they would be killed if they arrived in France, Walla reported.

The anonymous email said that the sender intended to harm “any Israeli presence at the Olympics” and said that if any Israeli delegates attended, they would be harmed.

The email also referenced the Munich 1972 Olympics, telling the athletes to “Prepare for the intifada!”

During the “Munich Massacre,” eight Palestinian Liberation Organization terrorists breached the Olympic Village at the ’72 Summer Games and entered an apartment complex housing Israeli athletes.

The terrorists murdered two members of the Israeli team in the Village before taking nine others hostage and demanding the release of 234 Arab prisoners from Israeli jails.

After a 23-hour standoff, all of the hostages were killed.

In the lead-up to the games, pro-Hamas protestors have flooded Paris, demanding Israel be banned from participating.

Report: Israeli Intelligence Missed Oct. 7 Warning Signs for Years

July 20, 2024  JBN News – Another shocking report has revealed a catastrophic intelligence failure preceding Hamas’ massacre against southern Israel on October 7.

According to Channel 12 News, a probe by Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate found that Hamas had been planning for its unprecedented attack an astonishing seven to eight years ago. Instead of taking the threat seriously, Israel adhered to a dangerously misguided concept of Hamas’ intentions.

Israeli leadership had mistakenly assumed that notorious Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar didn’t want to start a war with Israel in order to improve the economic situation in Gaza. Sinwar’s lack of participation in two prior skirmishes between Hamas and Israel led them into ignoring signs that he was gathering resources to launch a massive attack. Perhaps most alarmingly, the Directorate confessed uncertainty about preventing future terror attacks of this magnitude.

Unfortunately, this is not the first report suggesting Israel could have prevented the worst butchery of Jews since the Holocaust.

IDF observers reportedly witnessed a large-scale Hamas military drill on October 3 simulating the very rocket strikes and infiltration raids that would ultimately devastate Israeli civilians and take hostages four days later. However, these ominous training exercises involving some 170 terrorists were simply waved off by security sources as “just any other exercise” routinely conducted by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Another report discovered that a female sergeant from the IDF’s elite Unit 8200 sent an urgent email to several of her superiors, remarking how Hamas’ training exercises were mirror images of Hamas’ “Jericho Wall” plan obtained by IDF intelligence a year prior to October 7.

The “Jericho Wall” is a detailed 40-page playbook detailing Hamas’ strategy to decimate Gaza’s defense network. It calls for a barrage of rockets at the outset of an attack, drones to knock out security cameras, and gunmen to pour into Israel en masse via paragliders, motorcycles, and on foot.

The Last Shabbat Of Life

Jewish Breaking News

💔 This photo was taken on the evening of October 6th at the Nahal Oz outpost. It was the last Shabbat for observation Sergeant Shachaf Nissani, who was supposed to be released from duty the following week, and she was celebrating with her friends. The girls in the picture had no idea of the horror awaiting them just a few hours later. Out of the 11 girls here, 9 were murdered (one of them in captivity), one was kidnapped and later freed in a military operation. Among the other observation soldiers on duty at that time, another 5 were kidnapped and are still in captivity, and 5 more were murdered.

This single photo remains as a painful memento of the unimaginable massacre – they had warned, but no one listened to them. They marked their friend’s last Shabbat in the army, which turned into the last Shabbat of life for most of them.

ISRAEL ATTACKS YEMEN: Dozens Killed & Wounded, Huge Fires Break Out
July 20, 2024  4:17 pm  Yeshiva World News – Israel on Shabbos carried out airstrikes against multiple Houthi targets in the Hodeidah port area in western Yemen, targeting oil refineries, a power plant, and weapon warehouses, killing and wounding dozens.

In the wake of the strikes, huge fires broke out at the port, fueled by the oil stored there. As of Motzei Shabbos in Israel, the fires were still burning. The attack, which was carried out by over a dozen fighter jets, completely disabled the port, which Israel said is a “significant economic source for Houthi terrorism” due to the weapons transferred there from Iran and the energy infratructure.

The attack came after the Houthis’ launch of a drone that struck Tel Aviv in the early hours of Friday morning, killing one and wounding eight others, and about 220 previous attempts to attack Israel since October 7th.

The IDF stated: “A short while ago, IDF fighter jets struck military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the area of the Hodeidah in Yemen in response to the hundreds of attacks carried out against the State of Israel in recent months.”

The attack was approved at a secret meeting of the Cabinet early Shabbos afternoon, several hours before the attack.

The Houthis are threatening to retaliate for the attack and Israeli is taking the threats seriously and is preparing for a serious attack, including an attempt to damage Israel’s civilian infrastructure.

110 rockets in less than 24 hours: Hezbollah & Hamas attack Israel from Lebanon after IDF kills terrorists

Explosions damage home, factory and greenhouse, start fires in Golan Heights

All Israel News Staff | July 20, 2024

The Lebanese terror group Hezbollah and Hamas’ Lebanese branch sharply escalated their attacks over the weekend, lobbing some 110 rockets at Israel between Friday and Saturday noon, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Unlike most attacks from Lebanon, which Hezbollah claims most of the time, on Saturday Hamas’ Lebanon branch took responsibility for some of the launches on Saturday, saying they came as retaliation for Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Hezbollah’s rocket barrages began after Israel carried out several targeted eliminations, killing four terrorists in Lebanon on Friday.

Shortly after, some 65 rockets were launched at Israeli targets, including in the Upper Galilee, the northern Golan Heights, and the western Galilee. No casualties or significant damage were caused in the attacks, with most rockets falling in open areas.

The IDF said it struck a rocket launcher used in the attacks shortly after, before attacking weapons depots in the areas of Bleyda and Houla.

Later, fighter jets also struck ammunition depots near Tir Harfa and Bleyda. “During the attacks, secondary explosions were detected in the area, indicating the presence of weapons in the buildings,” the IDF stated.

The following day, Israeli aerial defense systems shot down a Hezbollah drone over Lebanese territory.

WATCH

In the early afternoon, Lebanese media reported that an alleged Israeli strike targeted a vehicle close to the border, wounding several people.

Hezbollah then launched 30 rockets at the Golan Heights and the Upper Galilee, most of which fell in open areas and caused wildfires. One rocket hit a factory in Kibbutz Amir.

Afterward, Hamas fired 10 rockets at targets in the Western Galilee, damaging a home and a greenhouse, before Hezbollah again fired 5 rockets at the area of Kiryat Shmona. No casualties were caused by the attacks.

WATCH

The IDF announced shortly after that a rocket launcher used in the first barrage was struck in the area of Deir Sirin, as well as another rocket launcher in Aitaroun.

‘The Jewish people are not occupiers in their own land’ – Israel blasts ICJ ruling declaring Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria illegal

‘No absurd opinion in The Hague can deny this historical truth or the legal right of Israelis to live in their own communities in our ancestral home,’ says Netanyahu

All Israel News Staff | July 19, 2024 – Israeli leaders denounced the ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on Friday, which declared Jewish settlements in east Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria (internationally known as the West Bank) illegal.

“Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, and the regime associated with them, have been established and are being maintained in violation of international law,” stated ICJ President Nawaf Salam on Friday.

The ICJ’s 15-judge panel issued an advisory opinion on the issue of settlements, which are not binding but “carry great legal weight and moral authority. They are often an instrument of preventive diplomacy and have peace-keeping virtues.”

The judges stated that Israel’s presence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem should come to an end “as rapidly as possible.”

Israel is “obliged to bring an end to its presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory as rapidly as possible,” the court said. The court added that Israel must make reparations for “damages” caused by its “occupation” of what the ICJ considers Palestinian territories.

Julia Sebutinde, the court’s Ugandan vice president, was the only one to dissent on all of the counts, which passed either with a vote of 14-1, 14-3, 12-3 or 11-4.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the ICJ’s ruling as “absurd.”

“The Jewish people are not occupiers in their own land, including in our eternal capital Jerusalem nor in Judea and Samaria, our historical homeland,” Netanyahu said. “No absurd opinion in The Hague can deny this historical truth or the legal right of Israelis to live in their own communities in our ancestral home.”

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz echoed Netanyahu’s remarks, describing the decision as “fundamentally warped, one-sided, and wrong.”

“The opinion ignores the past: the historical rights of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel,” Katz said. “It is detached from the present: from the reality on the ground; from the security threats to Israel; from the greatest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust; from the attacks by Hamas, Iran, and other terrorist elements on seven fronts; and from the need for Israel to defend its territory and its citizens. It is also dangerous to the future: it plays into the hands of the extremists and it encourages the Palestinian Authority to continue on the path of defamation and baseless mud-slinging.

“The State of Israel adheres to the rule of law and is committed to international law and it will continue to do all that is necessary to protect its citizens in accordance with international law.”

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote that the “fundamentally wrong” opinion “mixes politics and law” and “is completely detached from the reality of the Middle East.”

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said that the decision proved, once more, that the court is a political and antisemitic institution.

“The decision in The Hague proves for the umpteenth time that this is a distinctly antisemitic and political organization. We will not accept their preaching; the time has come for governance and sovereignty,” Ben Gvir declared.

Leaders from Judea and Samaria also spoke out against the ICJ’s decision with Israel Gantz, the head of the Binyamin Regional Council and chairman of the Yesha Council, stating that the ICJ should be internationally condemned for being “contrary to justice, the Bible, morality, and international law.”

“The Western Wall, the Cave of the Patriarchs, Jerusalem and all of Judea, Samaria, Benjamin, and the Jordan Valley are the property of our ancestors. No opinion will erase the historical truth or undermine the deep connection between the people of Israel and its country,” he said.

The same issue was brought before the ICJ in 2022 by the UN General Assembly, where it asked the court to issue an advisory opinion on the legal implications of Israel’s “prolonged occupation, settlement and annexation” of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

More than 50 nations appeared before the ICJ, with the majority asking the court to find the ‘occupation’ illegal with just a handful, including Canada and Great Britain, asking the court to refuse to issue an opinion on the issue.

Two decades ago, the ICJ issued advisory opinions against Israeli settlements.

In 2004, the ICJ stated that the settlements were in breach of international law, as it ruled that the security barrier in the West Bank was “contrary to international law.”

DEVELOPING: Israel Bombards Yemen’s Oil Depot in Retaliatory Strike Following Tel Aviv Suicide Drone Attack   By Julian Conradson

Jul. 20, 2024 3:00 pm – The conflict in the Middle East is rapidly breaking outside the confines of Israel, as neighboring Yemen was pummeled with a major retaliatory strike on Saturday by Israeli forces after a suicide drone killed two citizens in downtown Tel Aviv.

Footage of the initial drone attack was shared online by social media users. It was captured by a citizen standing on the beach in downtown Tel Aviv – which lies on Israel’s Mediterranean coast – and shows a Houthi-launched drone speeding overhead before it disappeared into the city skyline. Moments later it connected with a building killing one and injuring ten others.

It is unclear how the drone flew undetected through Israel’s vaunted Iron Dome.

▪️PM SAYS.. (On Yemen attack) From the beginning of the war, I made it clear that Israel would harm anyone who harms us… The port we attacked is not an innocent port. It was used for military purposes as an entry point for deadly weapons supplied by Iran… The attack came in direct response to the drone attack in which an Israeli citizen was killed and other civilians were injured.  For the past eight months, the Houthis have launched hundreds of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones against Israel… The Houthis are an integral part of Iran’s axis of evil. This axis works not only against Israel, it threatens the peace of the entire world.

.. (On ICJ “ruling”) The Jewish people are not conquerors in their own land – not in our eternal capital Jerusalem, nor in the land of our ancestors in Judea and Samaria.

▪️MORE ON THE YEMEN ATTACK.. About 10% of the Yemeni economy has been destroyed by Israel today.

.. Houthis threaten: “Haifa port will be the target.”  “We will respond to the blatant aggression in Hodeida and hit vital targets in the Zionist entity. We are preparing for a long campaign against Israel until the aggression stops and the siege in Gaza is lifted, the Tel Aviv area is not safe.”  “We will not stop our actions in support of our brothers in Gaza – whatever the consequences and whatever the results.”

.. Houthi spox: The Israeli enemy attacked, in several raids, the power plant, the port and the fuel tanks in Hodeidah, all civilian targets.

.. Multiple Israeli officials comment:  The quick response to the murderous attack from Yemen on Tel Aviv is exactly what is required even when the attack is on Metula, Eilat, Kiryat Shmona, which is one approach for all.

.. Hezbollah comments: We believe that the foolish step taken by Israel marks a new and dangerous phase of this most important conflict.

.. Saudi channel: The Israeli attacks disabled the port of Hodeidah.

ISRAEL REALTIME – Connecting to Israel in Realtime

🟥 Saturday, after Shabbat July 20, 2024 @ 2:29 p.m. EAS

▪️ON THE ICJ DECISION.. Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana: The Jewish people do not occupy the lands of Judea and Samaria, where over 80% of the sites mentioned in the Bible as the “Land of Israel” are found, where the Hebrew language was first heard and where the roots of our people lie… We will continue to live on the land of our ancestors, fight against those who seek our harm, and be a free people in our country.

.. Jerusalem Center for Public and State Affairs: the ICJ fulfills Hitler’s dream, stating that the “Palestinian territories” should be Judenfree.  The tribunal did not explain when the “Palestinian territories” were created, what the meaning of the British mandate, as adopted in the UN Charter, or why Jordanian products were not considered occupiers.

To add to the hallucinations, the judges ruled that Israel is also occupying the Gaza Strip. In a normal legal situation “occupation” requires effective control. That is, according to the judges, Israel had effective control over the Gaza Strip while Hamas built an army of terrorists and dug 600 km of tunnels.

▪️HOUTHIS SAY (before attack).. Ansar Allah:  “We declare the Tel Aviv area as an unsafe area and it will be a main target in the range of our missiles and Suicide Drones.”

.. (Since attack) – “Missile war is coming soon.”

.. Iraq Shia (Iranian) Militias: All American bases in Iraq and in the region have become part of our target bank.  Also, the city of Ashdod on the ground in Israel has become part of our target bank.
