August 16, 2024 JBN News – Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas is once again glorifying Hamas terrorists.
During an address to the Turkish parliament on Thursday, Abbas opened with a prayer for slain Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. He referred to the October 7 mastermind as a “martyr” and decried Israel’s actions as “oppression and genocide.”
“Please allow me, brothers and sisters, to start speaking to you to ask Allah to have mercy on those tens of thousands of martyrs who were killed by the Israeli oppression and genocide against them,” Abbas said.
For 40 minutes, Abbas called for the release of more than 10,000 dangerous Arab detainees in Israeli jails, including Hamas terrorists captured during the Oct. 7 massacre. He also expressed his intention to visit Gaza alongside other PA leaders, despite not having set foot in the Strip since Hamas violently seized control in 2007.
The PA leader’s rhetoric veered strongly into antisemitic territory when he claimed that “40% of the Jews in America consider Israel a criminal state,” and portrayed Palestinians as defenders against a “Zionist movement seeking to control the entire region.”
In a show of solidarity with the terrorist group, Turkish lawmakers displayed pictures of Haniyeh and his successor Yahya Sinwar during the speech. An empty seat was even reserved to honor Haniyeh, who helped orchestrate the worst single-day slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust.
El Al and Boeing have confirmed a deal

Alleged prisoner abuse case: New evidence poses significant challenges to the prosecution

According to the evidence, there is no proof indicating that the terrorist was injured by a blunt object. In addition, there is strong criticism of the young investigators, who claim that they are not experts in anatomy and medicine, which led to severe mistakes during the investigation.
The Military Defense announced on Tuesday that it reached an agreement with the prosecution for the release of the five suspects to house arrest in view of the expected continuation of the investigation. [Emphasis added]
At the same time, it was announced that the director of the Sde Teiman detention facility infirmary, who served as the infirmary’s commander at the time of the incident, was summoned to testify to the Military Police Investigations Unit. He only testified on Wednesday. Until now, the commander has not been summoned, even though he was responsible for the terrorist’s treatment, and was only summoned following another testimony and pressure by the suspects’ defense.

Fearful of violence: State decides not to destroy house of Karmiel terrorist
While the police recommended destroying the home of the Israeli Arab who murdered an IDF soldier in northern Israel, the Shin Bet dissuaded the state from doing so citing fears of inciting violence.
Aug 14, 2024, 9:23 PM (GMT+3) Israel National News – The political establishment has decided not to destroy the house of Joad Rabia’ from the Israeli Arab village of Nahef who murdered Sergeant Aleksandr Iakiminskyi from Nahariya and his friend in a stabbing attack at a mall in Karmiel in July.
Ynet reported that the decision was made despite the unequivocal recommendation by the police to carry out the demolition and in line with the Shin Bet’s recommendation not to.
It was claimed that the demolition may set off violent incidents by the Arabs in Galilee and inspire copycat attacks in the region.
The police estimated that it would be correct to create deterrence and to at least seal the house as was done in the past to terrorists in Jerusalem.
The Shin-Bet and police refused to comment.

Iran Rejects European Leaders’ Call To Refrain From Any Retaliatory Attacks
August 13, 2024 6:45 pm ET The Yeshiva World – Iran rejected a call Tuesday by three European countries urging it to refrain from any retaliatory attacks that would further escalate regional tensions. Iran calls it an “excessive request.”
The leaders of Britain, France and Germany in a joint statement Monday asked Iran and its allies to refrain from retaliation for the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last month. Iran has blamed Israel.
The European leaders also endorsed the latest push by mediators from Qatar, Egypt and the United States to broker an agreement to end the Israel-Hamas war. Talks are expected to resume Thursday. And they called for the return of scores of hostages held by Hamas and the “unfettered” delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Mediators have spent months trying to get the sides to agree to a three-phase plan in which Hamas would release the remaining hostages captured in its Oct. 7 attack in exchange for Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, and Israel would withdraw from Gaza.

August 11, 2024 at 10:11 AM i24NEWS – A debate was held in the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Sunday after evidence was leaked to the media in the Sde Teiman case, with lawmakers grilling the chief military prosecutor, Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi.
The case involves a Palestinian terrorist who was allegedly sodomized by Israeli reservists guarding prisoners in the Sde Teiman detention facility in southern Israel. The prosecutor’s conduct came under question in the meeting by Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli and Constitution, Law and Justice Committee Chairman Simcha Rothman.
The arrest of the reservists during the investigation came under fire by right wing politicians and activists, with protests turning into riots as angry demonstrators broke into Sde Teiman and the military police headquarters in Beit Lid, central Israel.
Tomer-Yerushalmi noted that the investigation was critical for Israel’s standing in the world, despite the criticism against her ordering their arrest.
“There are 74 investigations ongoing since the beginning of the war,” she said, according to Israeli media. “This is important to show the world that we are looking into the events, and also important internally, towards our morality.”
Legal ations such as these have implications for countries that supply weapons to Israel and want to see it acting according to law.
She added that the decision for arresting military police to arrive masked was reasonable to protect their identity and prevent threats against them.
Contrary to statements by the IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, she defended their arrival in a manner that protects their identity.
“The soldiers came to arrest in a quiet manner. The commanders arrived with exposed faces, only the young investigators arrived with their faces covered due to threats and incitement on social media platforms.”
She stressed that the arrests were not prompted by her initiative, but rather after medical documents received regarding the Palestinian’s condition
The Israel Defense Forces’ prosecution and military police have come under fire for the alleged damage to Israel and its soldiers in the case.
“I approved the investigation after reviewing the evidence and conducting a deep consultation with my deputy and the district attorney,” State Attorney Amit Isman said to the committee earlier. “We did this after we were convinced that the evidence required the opening of an investigation. We did so with a heavy heart and were aware of the implications but the evidentiary basis presented to us, not by media or rumors, is an evidentiary basis that established a reasonable suspicion.”
“Even in a combat situation, when a person is no longer a threat and is completely neutralized, and when a fighter is asked to move him from point A to point B, when he has considerable potential value to the security body, his death could be considered a crime,” Isman added. “Our decision in this regard will need to be composed of both a rational part and a legal ethical part.”

Appeal against Tel Aviv: 14 residents challenge ban on public prayer
The appeal comes after the city issued a ban on any prayers in a public area, sparking significant resistance among the city’s religious community.
Aug 9, 2024, 2:48 PM (GMT+3) Israel National News – The Rosh Yehudi Association and fourteen residents of Tel Aviv filed a petition Friday in the Administrative Court, against the municipality’s decision to ban prayer in the public space in the city.
“Before this honorable court is hereby presented a petition against the decision of the Tel Aviv municipality, which arbitrarily and discriminatorily prohibits the traditional Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) prayer in the public space in Dizengoff Square. This decision violates the fundamental rights of an entire community, breaches the principle of equality, and constitutes a grievous violation of the freedom of religion and worship protected by the Basic Laws of the State of Israel,” the petition read.
Advocate Uri Israel Paz, who represents the petitioners, including bereaved sister Michal Grinblik and media personality Irit Linor, argued that, “The respondent’s refusal to allow the petitioners to hold, on special occasions and by prior arrangement, traditional Jewish prayers in the public domain, solely because the prayers are held with a partition separating men and women who wish to do so – is contrary to the law and prohibited.”
In his opinion, “The respondent has no authority to prohibit the petitioners, or anyone else who wishes to do so, from praying in the public domain in accordance with the rules of the Jewish tradition, including having a partition between women and men and subject to compliance with the provisions of the law. Any administrative directive prohibiting this is null and void.”
On Thursday night, several hundred people participated in a mixed-gender prayer service in Dizengoff Square in protest of the Tel Aviv municipality’s decision to ban gender-segregated prayer in the public sphere. The service was not held behind a partition, but rather in two separate groups.
The site was also attended by a number of protesters from both sides demonstrating against the prayer and the policy of the Tel Aviv municipality, but the police, who had been prepared in advance, prevented any friction.
Last year, during Yom Kippur prayers – on the holiest day of the Jewish year – left-wing protesters prevented a Yom Kippur prayer service with separate seating for men and women Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv.
The organizers of the prayer tried to use Israeli flags as a partition after the court accepted the municipality’s position that gender segregation in prayer in a public space should be prohibited.
Residents who arrived at the place confronted the worshipers, destroyed the partition, and removed the chairs that the organizers had placed.
The prayer was eventually stopped and moved to a side street, and one of the demonstrators was detained for questioning. A group of protesters demonstrated outside the police station where the protester was being questioned.
In a similar incident that same day, a number of protestors interfered with the Yom Kippur prayers held by the Tzohar rabbinical organization at Habima Square in Tel Aviv during Ne’ilah, the closing prayer of Yom Kippur.
After repeated interruptions, it was decided to move the prayer to the parking lot of the house of one of the organizers. The organizers of the prayer pointed out that it was the non-religious worshipers who asked the protesters to leave, but were refused.

Some of these sites are in more sensitive locations than others. If Iran targets just one very high-profile site and causes minor damage, it is uncertain if this will be treated as a declaration of war.

Israeli homestead Tzur Harel demolished overnight
Hundreds of police officers entered the homestead at 4:00 a.m. to carry out the demolition.
Aug 6, 2024, 11:28 AM (GMT+3) Israel National News – Hundreds of Israel Police officers, accompanied by Civil Administration officials, raided the homestead of Tzur Harel in Binyamin early Tuesday morning, evicted the residents, and began demolishing the site.
The forces arrived at the site around 04:00a.m., presented the residents with an order declaring the area a closed military zone, and evicted them. Afterwards, they demolished the buildings that were built there.
According to the settlers, a sheepfold was also demolished, and the herd inside was released without giving the residents the opportunity to take them to another location.
Tzur Harel is named after Harel Sharvit, who was killed in action in Gaza. About a month ago, the Civil Administration destroyed two permanent structures that were built there and removed the residents, who later returned.
The residents of criticized the defense system: “While the whole country is on edge fearing an Iranian response, the defense system found time and strength to fight the real enemy, which is the settlement activists who protect the Land of Israel from hostile Arab takeover.” [Emphasis added]
“It is a shame and disgrace that the right-wing government fully approves such despicable destruction that comes after several incidents in which Arab terrorists from the village of Burqa repeatedly attacked the hill’s shepherds. Just a week ago, one of the hill’s shepherds survived an attack. We will not be broken and will continue to settle the Land of Israel despite domestic and external harassment that tries in every way to transfer control of the area to the murderous Palestinian Authority.”
The IDF said that “Earlier on Tuesday, Civil Administration officers, accompanied by large forces of Border Police and other units, came to enforce the demolition of four illegal buildings established at the outpost of Tzur Harel. The building components were erected on private Palestinian land and contrary to the law.”

Aug 6, 2024, 3:49 PM (GMT+3) Israel National News – Russian President Vladimir Putin asked Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to to exercise restraint as it responds to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, two senior sources in Tehran stated.
According to the report, Putin asked the Iranian leader to avoid causing harm to civilians.
Over the weekend, Iran began moving missile launchers and conducting military drills, US officials told the Wall Street Journal.
According to the officials, such activities could indicate that Iran is preparing to attack Israel in the coming days.
The WSJ also noted that the Biden administration is concerned that an Iranian attack may be accompanied by an attack by Hezbollah and other Iranian proxies, in an attempt to overwhelm Israel’s defenses.
Over the weekend, Iranian Ambassador to Australia Ahmad Sadeghi posted a tweet calling for the destruction of the State of Israel.
In his post, Sadeghi wrote that he hopes the “wiping out the Zionist plague out of the holy lands of Palestine happens no later than 2027.”

August 05, 2024 at 07:55 AM i24NEWS – Almost half of Hamas’s battalions in the northern and central Gaza Strip have retained some combat capabilities, according to a CNN report on Monday.
The assessment was made based on research by the American Enterprise Institute’s Critical Threats Project, the Institute for the Study of War, and CNN.
This is contrary to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that “victory is in sight,” as he told a joint session of US Congress on July 24. In addition, Israel has claimed a string of victories by killing top level Hamas leaders, including Mohammed Deif and Marwan Issa. Senior leader Ismail Haniyeh was also killed last week in Tehran, although Israel has not taken responsibility for the attack.
Despite this, by covering all of Hamas’s activities until July, the report shows that Hamas have used resources efficiently on the ground. Several of the terrorist organization’s units have returned to central areas after being purged by the IDF through intense fighting. According to the study, based on new analyses, the report revealed that Hamas operatives who survived the attacks have worked tirelessly to renew their activities.
The Hamas battalions in the center of the Gaza Strip are least harmed, according to Israeli military sources. They said Israel’s security forces have not dealt well enough with these battalions, as they believed that many Israeli captives were held there.

Omer Dostri, a defense analyst and TV commentator, has accused Biden of ‘throwing Israel under the bus’ and ‘playing into Hamas’ hands.’
August 5, 2024 – The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced the hiring of Omer Dostri, 37, as Benjamin Netanyahu’s new spokesman on Sunday.
Dostri, 37, has a PhD in political science, and was a fellow at Israeli right-leaning think tanks as well as an analyst at the pro-Netanyahu Channel 14 before joining the Prime Minister’s Office. Dostri joined Netanyahu on the prime minister’s trip to Washington last month and met the press corps covering the prime minister.
While at the Israel and Defense and Security Forum, a movement of hawkish retired and reserve IDF officers, as a “specialist in defense strategy, military and national security,” Dostri wrote articles rapping the Biden administration for what he viewed as insufficient support for Israel in its war against Hamas.
When the U.S. did not veto a U.N. Security Council resolution calling for a cease-fire in Gaza in March, Dostri wrote an article titled “The Biden administration threw Israel under the bus” and argued that “contrary to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s view … and that of the U.S. government in general … Israel is not a banana republic run by outside factors.”
In another article, he wrote that “the Biden administration … began to prefer contacts with Hamas to a growing extent at the expense of Israel’s national security.” U.S. policy, he added, “plays into [Hamas’] hands,” allowing it to survive and strengthening the terror group’s resolve not to release the hostages it is holding in Gaza.
Hebrew-language media highlighted Dostri’s criticism of the protest movement against judicial reform, which he called a “delusional, loud and anarchist minority, which violates public order.”
Dostri also supported Netanyahu’s decision to fire Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant last year for calling to slow down the government’s judicial reform plan in light of the protest leaders’ calls to refuse to report for reserve duties, accusing Gallant of “indirectly encouraging” draft-dodging.
Netanyahu reversed Gallant’s dismissal last year, but there have been persistent reports in Hebrew media in recent days that he is considering firing the defense minister again.

‼️In a special report by Army Radio, Efi Triger noted that the IDF has recently deployed several units from the Home Front Command and the Jordan Lions Battalion to reinforce the defense of the Seam Line communities in the Sharon area. This action follows an urgent warning after recent targeted killings, indicating plans to carry out infiltration attacks on these communities, orchestrated by Iran and Hamas.
The Shin Bet received intelligence that terrorists from the Tulkarm area intended to infiltrate settlements in the Sharon Seam Line area. Consequently, soldiers have been stationed within these settlements to provide an immediate response to any incidents, given the proximity to Palestinian territories.
These units are tasked with serving as the last line of defense within the settlements, should all other security measures fail, learning from the events of October 7th. It became evident on the night between Friday and Saturday that there were genuine threats, as a terrorist cell from Tulkarm, eliminated on Saturday morning, was planning an infiltration attack in Israel.
Security officials told Army Radio that Iran and Hamas are attempting to divert Israeli attention to Judea and Samaria to provoke an intifada, hoping this will prevent an Israeli attack in Lebanon. Judea and Samaria risk becoming the main theater of war once again.

CTP-ISW defines the “Axis of Resistance” as the unconventional alliance that Iran has cultivated in the Middle East since the Islamic Republic came to power in 1979. This transnational coalition is comprised of state, semi-state, and non-state actors that cooperate to secure their collective interests. Tehran considers itself to be both part of the alliance and its leader. Iran furnishes these groups with varying levels of financial, military, and political support in exchange for some degree of influence or control over their actions. Some are traditional proxies that are highly responsive to Iranian direction, while others are partners over which Iran exerts more limited influence. Members of the Axis of Resistance are united by their grand strategic objectives, which include eroding and eventually expelling American influence from the Middle East, destroying the Israeli state, or both. Pursuing these objectives and supporting the Axis of Resistance to those ends have become cornerstones of Iranian regional strategy.
We do not report in detail on war crimes because these activities are well-covered in Western media and do not directly affect the military operations we are assessing and forecasting. We utterly condemn violations of the laws of armed conflict and the Geneva Conventions and crimes against humanity even though we do not describe them in these reports.
Iran and its Axis of Resistance will most likely conduct a coordinated, large-scale drone and missile attack on Israel in response to Israel killing Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. CTP-ISW previously outlined this scenario as one of the most dangerous courses of action that Iran could pursue.[1] Iranian state media reported on August 4 that Iran and the Axis of Resistance will conduct a “quadrilateral operation” against Israel.[2] The operation would reportedly involve Lebanese Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iranian-backed Iraqi militias conducting coordinated strikes on Israel at the same time as Iranian forces. Iranian state media added that Hezbollah seeks to attack Israel to retaliate for Israel killing a senior Hezbollah officer in Beirut on July 30, while the Houthis seek to retaliate against Israel for the IDF airstrike on July 20 that hit Houthi military targets in al Hudaydah, Yemen.[3] The leader of Iranian-backed Iraqi militia Harakat Hezbollah al Nujaba, Akram al Kaabi, published an image on August 4 signaling his intent to participate in an attack on Israel.[4] Three anonymous US and Israeli officials told Axios on August 4 that Iran and the Axis of Resistance could conduct their coordinate attack as soon as August 5.[5]
Iran and the Axis of Resistance will probably conduct an attack that is more escalatory than the drone and missile attack that Iran conducted against Israel in April 2024. Iran and its allies fired around 170 one-way attack drones, 120 ballistic missiles, and 30 cruise missiles at Israel in the April 2024 attack. Iran designed this strike package of over 300 projectiles to inflict serious damage on Israel and sought to thereby establish deterrence. But the United States, Israel, and their allies intercepted the vast majority of projectiles, so that the Iranian attack did significantly less damage than Tehran intended.[6]
Iran could modify the April 2024 attack model in at least four ways to increase the likelihood of inflicting serious damage on Israel.

Antisemitic Political Commentator [Candice Owens] Links Star of David to Child Sacrifices [VIDEO]
August 4, 2024 JBN News – Antisemitic political commentator Candace Owens has come under fire again after questioning the origins of the Star of David.
On her YouTube show last week, Owens claimed that the Star of David only became associated with Judaism in recent centuries, suggesting European Jews adopted it as a counterpart to the Christian cross. She asserted its prominence grew with the rise of the Zionist movement in the late 1800s.
Challenging mainstream historical understanding, Owens proposed a more contentious origin for the symbol. She linked it to the “Star of Remphan,” which she described as belonging to a pagan deity worshipped by Canaanites and associated with child sacrifice. Owens further connected these symbols to demons and sorcery, citing dubious internet sources and Wikipedia for her libelous claims.
Owens is no stranger to peddling her antisemitic vitriol to her massive following. In a June episode of her show, she made waves by stating, “It seems like America is being held hostage by Israel,” acknowledging the potential backlash but asserting, “I don’t care.”
When it comes to the Holocaust, Owens ranted about how Hitler “factually and statistically” was not the greatest evil person of his time.
“What is it about Hitler? Why is he the most evil? Well, the first thing people would say is ‘ethnic cleansing almost took place.’ And I offer back, ‘You mean like we actually did to the Germans?’”
She infamously described Nazi doctor Josef Mengele’s experiments as “bizarre propaganda.”
“The idea that they just cut a human up and then sewed them back together. Why would you do that? Even if you’re the most evil person in the world, that’s a tremendous waste of time and supplies,” she said.”

August 4, 2024 – In the shadow of the looming full scale war between Israel and Hezbollah, Lebanese citizens continue to make their way to Beirut’s international airport in hopes of fleeing to safety.
While it is still not known how wide of a war is coming to the region, Iran and its proxies have made it clear – they are preparing to attack Israel on multiple fronts as a retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah’s number two in Beirut, Fuad Shukr and Hamas’ political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran earlier this week.
Israel has made it clear that they will respond immediately and severely to any organized attack by Iran and its proxies. Although Hezbollah has been attacking Israel since October 8th, it has kept its attack to the upper Galilee and the Golan. Hezbollah has now made it clear that it will direct its attacks to far deeper locations and Israeli civilian centers like Tel Aviv and Haifa.
The region stands on the precipice of full war that may bring in Turkey, Russia, and the Iraqi Shiite militias besides the actors already involved. The Lebanese citizens fleeing their country know what this means and for Lebanon. Lebanon as a country barely exists now – if there is regional war – it will never truly exist again.
When Egypt said recently that the regional structure is on the verge of collapse – they were not lying, its only a matter of time and that time is approaching very fast.

Aug 4, 2024, 7:59 AM (GMT+3) – For conspicuous reasons, the likelihood of direct war between Israel and Iran is “high.”[1] What remains inconspicuous is that such a war could quickly or incrementally involve North Korean military assets. Even if Israel were able to keep Iran pre-nuclear, an already nuclear North Korea could still multiply and magnify Iranian aggressions. In this scenario, North Korea would function as a witting surrogate of Iran.
What arguments could support such a portentous conclusion? In a worst case scenario, Israel would find itself facing a direct military conflict with Iran’s state ally in Pyongyang, one in which Israel could lose its presumptive upper hand during competitive risk-taking. Any such loss would be the result of Israel no longer being the sole nuclear power during crisis escalations. In strategic parlance, this signifies a prospective Israeli loss of “escalation dominance.”[2]
Such calculations would be perplexing, and not for the intellectually faint-at-heart.[3] At the same time, going forward, purposeful Israeli solutions could be discoverable only by gifted strategic thinkers, not by politicians, pundits or the assorted marionettes of artificial intelligence. Regarding incentives for North Korea to undertake potentially grave risks on behalf of Iran, the most recognizable encouragements would coalesce around Iranian oil.
If Hezbollah, Hamas and Houthi terror attacks on Israel should lead to direct and protracted warfare between Israel and Iran, North Korean involvement could more immediately immobilize Israel. In nuclear terms, Israel would likely be in an unfavorable position to engage Iran’s PRK proxy because Israel is a “50 target state.” Even in its still pre-nuclear iteration and without tangible North Korean backing, Iran would be a “1000+ target state” with long-range strike capabilities.
Israel could soon have to face a newly-nuclear Iran and an already-nuclear North Korea simultaneously.[4] And this is to say nothing about variously possible Russian and/or Chinese interventions undertaken for Iran, or about plausible Indian and/or Pakistani involvements.
Pakistan, a nuclear Sunni Islamic state, is improving its ties to Shiite Iran while remaining supportive of Sunni Saudi Arabia. Nuclear India, the long-time foe of Pakistan, is also strengthening its ties to Iran by way of Chabahar port.[5] Pakistan has openly embraced a “counterforce” or warfighting strategy of nuclear deterrence, one that could confront Israeli decision-makers with altogether unprecedented existential hazards.
In the final analysis, it could be left up to the United States to support Israel’s survival against Iranian, North Korean and potentially Pakistani aggressions. This conclusion would identify scenarios in which Iran-backed jihadist terror attacks[6] on Israel wind up retrospectively as the original precipitants of a regional or global nuclear war. Presently, Iranian surrogate forces are visibly operational in all Palestinian Arab territories (especially Gaza), Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Mali and Somalia.
IDF prosecution requests to extend remand of reservists in custody over claims of abusing prisoner

August 04, 2024 at 05:47 AM i24NEWS – Israel’s military prosecution on Sunday requested to remand until Wednesday five reservist soldiers suspected of abusing a Palestinian terrorist in the Sde Teiman detention facility, citing the need to complete its investigation.
The prosecution requested that three more soldiers be held for several more hours to complete their investigation.
Another soldier was released last week.
The Honenu legal aid organization, meanwhile, requested all eight be immediately freed.
The families and friends of the reservists are planning a protest in solidarity with them in the early afternoon.
This comes after nine Israeli reservists serving in Sde Teiman were arrested last week, following allegations that they were involved in forcible sodomy of a terrorist held prisoner there.
Images of military police with covered faces entering the army base and apprehending the soldiers garnered outrage last Monday among right-wing politicians and activists, who descended on Sde Teiman before breaking in.
In central Israel’s Beit Lid, the military police’s headquarters, similar protests occurred later in the evening, drawing outrage as they descended into rioting.

Aug 3, 2024, 8:56 PM (GMT+3) (JNS) – Israelis hunkered down Thursday night and braced for Iran’s promised retaliation for Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah and Hamas terror masters Fuad Shukr and Ismail Haniyeh. As they did so, Channel 14 broadcast the results of a Direct Polls survey of the public’s perspective on Israel’s strategic condition and imperatives. The results were stunning.
The poll included three questions. The first related to the public’s staying power in the current war, asking, “How long are you willing to live with the war situation?”
Some 22% of Israelis said they have had enough and want the war to end. Another 14% said they are willing to keep the war going for a few more weeks or months. And 64% of Israelis said they would support fighting the war “for as long as it takes.”
The poll then moved to the public’s assessment of whether the July 31 assassinations of the Hezbollah and Hamas kingpins would set back or advance the completion of the war. Of the answers, 21% of Israelis said the assassinations would prolong the war; 10% had no opinion; and 69% of Israelis said the assassinations expedited the completion of the war.
Finally, the public was asked how Israel should respond to Iran’s threatened aggression. Some 35% of Israelis said that Israel should carry out a limited campaign with the goal of achieving a diplomatic agreement with Hezbollah. Four percent had no opinion. And 61% said that Israel should not be limiting itself to defense but should respond to Iran’s threats with a preemptive strike to block Iran from attacking Israel.
The poll shows definitively that after 300 days of war, the Israeli public maintains its unswerving resolve to see the war through to victory. It is willing to pay whatever price is required to defeat its enemies and understands that there is no diplomatic solution to military problems, only military solutions.
Since you need to defeat your enemies to win a war, Israelis are uninterested in “diplomatic initiatives,” and seek offensive operations to defensive operations.
