Hastings City Council unanimously approves resolution calling for ceasefire in Gaza By Hayley Feland

January 22, 2024 – The Hastings City Council unanimously passed a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza during its Jan. 16 meeting.
According to a city memo explaining the resolution, on Jan. 5 the city “received a proposed resolution calling for a cease fire and humanitarian aid in Gaza along with a list of names who supported a ‘change.org’ petition.”
The resolution was added to the council’s agenda by Council Member Angie Haus, the memo says, and was referenced during the public comment portion of the City Council meeting.
The Change.org petition was launched by resident Tom Bullington. “The members of Hastings Progressives are calling on the Hastings City Council to adopt a formal resolution at its January 15, 2024 council meeting calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza,” the petition reads.
The petition, which was signed by just over 100 people, alleges that Hastings taxpayers contributed $321,021 to the Israeli military in 2023. [Emphasis added]
“I’m thankful for all the community members who have come out to hold us accountable to our power. We have voices and it’s incredibly important for us to stand up for what is right,” said Ward 2 Council Member Jen Fox, who moved to adopt the resolution.
Another council member said she was horrified by the number of casualties in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas.
“It’s just horrifying when you look at the statistics about the number of people who are being killed in Gaza, not to mention the vast majority are children and women who are being killed as civilians,” said Ward 1 Council Member Tina Folch.
“It’s really important for us to stop genocide when we see it and to call it as it is,” Haus, an at-large member of the council, said before the vote.
The motion was passed unanimously after just a few minutes of discussion.
“All human life is precious, and the targeting of civilians, no matter their faith or ethnicity, is a violation of international humanitarian law,” the resolution states, referencing a United Nations vote in support of a ceasefire.
“Hundreds of thousands of lives are at imminent risk if a ceasefire is not achieved,” the resolution adds.
It concludes by urging Minnesota’s congressional delegation to pressure the Biden administration into supporting “de-escalation and a ceasefire.”
“The City of Hastings, Minnesota supports all of its residents and condemns all forms of racism, bigotry, and discrimination,” it says.
The Minneapolis City Council is also expected to take up a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the coming days.

For multi-national companies this can mean over 1,000 controls are tested each year. Testing is performed by internal and external auditors all year long. If a control is not in place, not working, or designed poorly, the control issues are addressed and the control is retested at year-end. ALL KEY CONTROLS must be in place and working properly before the external auditor will sign off on a company’s financials reported to the public.
In contrast, in the US election process, only one-third of all controls are in place. The US election process is a disaster.
A group of election experts and professionals from various fields performed an analysis of the controls necessary to be in place to ensure accurate and secure elections. This group which labels itself FATE2024 performed its work over the past few months.
FATE2024 identified 14 key processes that are part of US elections. Below is a list of these processes:

- Voter Roll Maintenance
- Ballot Printing
- Vote by Mail
- Vote in Person
- Physical Security
- Reporting Results
- Election Certification
- Ballot Storage and Maintenance
- System Security
- Election Donations
- Election Facility Management

Within these 14 processes, 100 subprocesses were defined. Next over 500 detailed controls were identified in total in these subprocesses. Per the analysis of these controls, only 36% of the controls identified were in place!

Jan. 22, 2024 8:45 am – During Argentina’s presidential campaign, I repeatedly wrote here on TGP how infuriating it was to be witnessing MSM treat Javier Milei’s absolutely mainstream, no-nonsense economic ideas as ‘dangerous’, ‘radical’ and out of bounds, while the horrible Peronists who left 40% of Argentineans under the poverty line were treated like the ‘sensible’ option.
This upside-down view of the world displayed by the media remains the standard approach as Milei kicks off his government, however cracks in the narrative are already quite visible.
Daniel Hannan has an excellent article out in the UK’s Conservative paper Telegraph about Milei’s speech in the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos.
Hannan notes how the former economics professor ‘made no attempt to meet his audience half way’.
Milei warned them that Western values had been betrayed by ‘those who want to belong to a privileged caste’ and told it to the faces of the members of the caste.
During 40 minutes, he presented the theory and practice of why state intervention tends to make people poorer.
Hannan writes: “There is nothing pro-market about Davos. Here are the directors and lobbyists of Atlas Shrugged brought to life: woke, subsidy-hungry, pleased with themselves, ambitious, conformist, reluctant to express a view until they have a sense of the room. Had the WEF existed in the late nineteenth century, it might have included a few economic liberals, for free markets were then in fashion. But our own age is corporatist, managerialist and high-spending, and delegates duly parrot those orthodoxies.”
Communist, fascist, socialist, social democratic, Christian Democratic, progressive or populist, these are just different stripes for the same lust for collectivism.
“Because he dislikes state interference, Milei is dismissed as a loon. He is ‘radical’ (New York Times), ‘extreme’ (El País), ‘populist’ (Le Monde), ‘far-Right’ (BBC). Yet the classical liberalism he espouses is as undoctrinaire as any world-view can be.”
His reforms mainly involve politicians surrendering their privileges.

81-year-old Biden arrived in Rehoboth Beach Friday night for another weekend vacation. He lumbered down the steps as he arrived in Delaware.
He has spent 432 days – 39.4% of his presidency – on vacation with no visitor logs.
After hiding out all weekend in Rehoboth Beach, Joe Biden flew on Marine One to his Wilmington home – then flew back to his Rehoboth Beach home.
Marine One costs approximately $20,000 per hour and Air Force One costs $177,843 per hour, according to Department of Defense documents. Biden’s frequent trips and vacations to Delaware have cost US taxpayers well over $15 million. [Emphasis added]
It is unclear why Biden made the trip to his Wilmington home and then back to Rehoboth.

Haley, during a joint interview with NBC News and The Des Moines Register, shared her struggles growing up in a small southern town as the only Indian family.
She recounted incidents of being teased for her skin color and the challenges she faced, including being disqualified from a beauty pageant for not fitting into predefined racial categories.
“We were the only Indian family in our small southern town. I was teased every day for being brown. So anyone who wants to question it can go back and look at what I’ve said on how hard it was to grow up in the Deep South as a brown girl,” said Haley.
“If you want to know what it was like growing up, I was disqualified from a beauty pageant because I wasn’t white or black because they didn’t know where to put me. So look, I know the hardships, the pain that come with racism. It’s the reason that I fight bullies every day when it comes to racism, antisemitism, or hate,” she added.
However, her comments did not sit well with comedian Terrence Williams.
In his video response, Williams humorously questioned Haley’s assertion of being “brown,” comparing her skin tone to various objects and sarcastically claiming himself as the only white family in Compton, California.

The libertarian leader delivered a blistering critique of socialism and a fervent endorsement of capitalist principles before a crowd of the world’s most influential political and economic figures.
Milei, having been introduced by Klaus Schwab himself, then proceeded to confront the elites with his fiery speech.
The 53-year-old president did not hold back in his rebuke of the West’s slide toward collectivism — a political theory associated with communism.
“I am here today to tell you that the West is in danger,” warned Milei.
“It is in danger because those who are supposed to defend the values of the West have been co-opted by a vision of the world that inexorably leads to socialism and, consequently, to poverty,” he added.
He lambasted Western leaders for abandoning the principles of freedom and succumbing to various forms of collectivism, including state interventionism, radical feminism, abortion, social justice movements, and population control.
“The leaders of the Western world have abandoned the model of freedom for different versions of what we call collectivism. Collectivist experiments are never the solution to the problems that afflict the citizens of the world rather they are the root cause.”
This weekend, FOX Business host Maria Bartiromo was back from Davos and reported on the annual event.
Bartiromo told Rachel Campos-Duffy that Klaus Schwab walked out of President Milei’s speech. Klaus was not interested in being lectured to by a national leader.

The National Toxicology Program said it no longer plans to study the effects of cellphone radiation on human health, citing technical challenges and lack of resources — even though its own $30 million study found evidence of cancer and DNA damage.
January 18, 2024 – The National Toxicology Program (NTP) has no plans to further study the effects of cellphone radiofrequency radiation (RFR) on human health — even though the program’s own $30 million study that took about 10 years to complete in 2018 reported evidence of cancer and DNA damage.
The NTP said in an updated January 2024 fact sheet that it was abandoning further investigation because “the research was technically challenging and more resource-intensive than expected.”
For decades, the NTP has been the premier governmental testing program for pharmaceuticals, chemicals and radiation, according to Devra Davis, Ph.D., MPH, a toxicologist and epidemiologist who served on the board of scientific counselors for the NTP when it was launched in the 1980s.
Commenting on the news, Davis said, “It is the ultimate arrogance and folly to stop doing research on this major growing environmental pollutant, precisely when we have ample evidence of harm.”

Carlson begins by quite appropriately pointing out the fact that the FBI’s ongoing efforts to apprehend those involved (or not) in the Capitol riot contrasts greatly with their apparent inability to identify the person responsible for the pipe bombs:
