GOMA, Congo (AP) — Islamic State-linked rebels attacked a village in conflict-battered eastern Congo killing at least nine villagers, a local official and residents said Sunday.
The Saturday attack in the village of Ngohi Vuyinga in North Kivu province’s Lubero territory also displaced dozens and several houses burned down, according to Samuel Kagheni, a local civil society leader.
Rebels with the Allied Democratic Forces, an IS affiliate in the region, attacked the villagers with guns and machetes while they were at their farms, Kagheni said….
“The peaceful population is still being killed, but there is no intervention on the government side,” said César Kambale, a youth leader of the nearby Vuyinga village.
“Is our army, the FARDC (Congolese armed forces) really leading offensives against this enemy? … Every day people are attacked, civilians are killed under the helpless eye of our FARDC,” he said.

Ukraine Accepts Ceasefire With Russia As US Lifts Freeze On Ai
- March 11, 2025 Yeshiva World News – Ukraine on Tuesday accepted a deal put forward by the Trump administration during a meeting in Saudi Arabia, in a step forward for securing a ceasefire and an end to its war with Russia.
“We’ll take this offer now to the Russians, and we hope that they’ll say yes,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters.
Rubio, standing alongside National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, did not detail exactly what was in this agreement but said, “Ukraine wants to stop shooting.”
“We hope the Russians answer to that,” he added. “The best goodwill gesture the Russians can provide is to say yes.”
Rubio said if and once Moscow agrees to this preliminary agreement, the real negotiations can commence.
“We’ve gone from if this war is going to end to how this war is going to end, ” Waltz told reporters.
Issues involving the return of children abducted by Russia and the return of the prisoners of war will be addressed in the “second phase” the pair said.
SECRETARY OF STATE RUBIO: “Today, we’ve made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted, which is to enter into a ceasefire and into immediate negotiations to end this conflict in a way that’s enduring and sustainable.”

Fraud: Feds So Careless They Gave $312 Million to 5,600 Kids, SSNs Didn’t Even Match Names By Jack Davis
March 10, 2025 at 4:32pm The Western Journal – Millions of dollars in taxpayer grants went to purported children during COVID, according to new allegations from the Department of Government Efficiency.
DOGE said it has found that the Small Business Administration granted nearly 5,600 loans to borrowers who were 11 years old or younger when the loans were taken out, according to a Sunday report from Fox News.
That accounted for $312 million.
The loans were issued during the COVID years of 2020 and 2021, but DOGE did not release the purpose of the loans.
“While it is possible to have business arrangements where this is legal, that is highly unlikely for these 5,593 loans, as they all also used an SSN with the incorrect name,” DOGE wrote in a statement.
The statement said DOGE and the SBA “are working together to solve this problem this week.”
During those same two years, the SBA approved 3,095 loans to borrowers who were listed on the paperwork for the loans as over 115 years old.
This group of loans totals $333 million.
DOGE said the loan recipients were recorded in the Social Security database as still living.
In one case, loans went to someone who was identified as being 157 years old, who received loans worth $36,000.
The loans included support from the Paycheck Protection Program and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program.
News of the suspicious payouts came shortly after DOGE leader Elon Musk revealed that there are substantial numbers of very elderly people still listed in the Social Security databases.
For instance, the database included over 1.3 million people between the ages of 150 and 159, nearly 122,000 between the ages of 160 and 169, and over 6,000 between the ages of 170 and 179.
Fraud under the PPP continues to result in court cases.
Recently, Marc Andrew Martin, 46, of Detroit, pleaded guilty to a fraud conspiracy charge in a $14 million Paycheck Protection Plan loan scheme, according to WDIV-TV in Detroit.
Between March 2020 and August 2021, Martin recruited small businesses and falsified loan applications. The SBA approved 226 loans totaling $14.5 million.
Last month, the Justice Department announced that YAPP USA Automotive Systems agreed to pay $14 million over a PPP loan for which it was not eligible.
The loan was forgiven by the SBA.
The Justice Department said the company was not eligible because of its size and also because its parent company is owned by the Chinese government.

March 9, 2025 ABP News Bureau – The Liberal Party of Canada is set to announce Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s successor on Monday, marking a crucial transition as the country faces a trade dispute with the United States. The new leader will have to navigate negotiations with U.S. President Donald Trump, who has threatened additional tariffs on Canada, and prepare for an upcoming general election against the opposition Conservatives.
Trudeau, who has been in power for more than nine years, announced in January that he would step down following a sharp decline in his approval ratings. This prompted the ruling Liberal Party to conduct a swift leadership contest.
According to news agency Reuters, former central banker Mark Carney has emerged as the frontrunner, securing the most endorsements from party members and raising the highest amount of funds among the four Liberal candidates. Around two-thirds of Trudeau’s cabinet have publicly backed Carney.
A Mainstreet poll conducted in late February showed Carney with 43% support among Liberals, compared to 31% for his main rival, former Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.
Freeland, who played a key role in negotiating with Trump during his first term, has struggled to differentiate herself from Trudeau after years of being a loyal supporter. She left the government in December after Trudeau attempted to replace her and later criticised his administration’s spending policies.
Mark Carney, 59, would make history as the first outsider without a political background to become Canada’s prime minister if he wins. He has touted his experience as the first person to serve as the governor of both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, arguing that this makes him best suited to handle negotiations with Trump.
During his campaign, Carney supported a policy of dollar-for-dollar retaliatory tariffs against the U.S. and a coordinated strategy to boost investment. He has been critical of Canada’s economic growth under Trudeau, stating it has not been strong enough, Reuters reported.
Liberal Party Sees Resurgence Amid US Trade Tensions
The looming trade conflict and Trump’s controversial remarks, including repeated taunts about annexing Canada as the 51st U.S. state, have fueled a resurgence in Liberal Party support. Notably, China has also announced tariffs on over $2.6 billion worth of Canadian agricultural and food products in response to levies Ottawa introduced in October.
At the beginning of 2025, the Liberals trailed the Conservatives by more than 20 points, but they are now statistically tied in several polls.
“There is a rallying around the flag moment that we would never have predicted a year ago,” said University of British Columbia politics professor Richard Johnston, as quoted by Reuters. “I think it’s probably true as we speak that the Liberals have been saved from oblivion.”
“Is it ideal in a circumstance of bilateral crisis for us? I suppose not,” Drew Fagan, a professor at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, told Reuters. “But on the other hand, the process is playing out domestically as it should.”
New Canadian PM To Face Vote Of Confidence, May Call Snap Elections
The next Canadian prime minister will face critical decisions immediately. The minority Liberal government may encounter a confidence vote when Parliament reconvenes at the end of March, potentially leading to an election.
The new leader might opt to call an immediate election rather than go through the process of forming a cabinet. However, an election must be held no later than 20 October.
Polls suggest that neither the Liberals nor the Conservatives are on track to secure a majority government.
If Carney is elected leader, he could legally serve as prime minister without a seat in the House of Commons. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, acting on a State Department order, swooped into Khalil’s university-owned apartment near Columbia’s Manhattan campus, taking him into custody for his role in stoking unrest on university campuses.
Khalil’s attorney, Amy Greer, whined to The Associated Press that ICE agents informed her they were executing a State Department directive to revoke Khalil’s student visa. When Greer pointed out that Khalil, who graduated in December, held a green card as a permanent resident, the agents delivered a crushing blow: that privilege was being stripped away too. And rightly so—Khalil’s relentless agitation against Israel’s justified war in Gaza has no place in a nation that cherishes freedom and security.

The administration has zeroed in on Columbia University, a hotbed of radical anti-Israel activity, slashing $400 million in grants and contracts on Friday due to the Ivy League school’s shameful failure to stamp out rampant antisemitism.

In September, he brazenly told The Associated Press that the protests would persist “as long as Columbia continues to invest and to benefit from Israeli apartheid”—a baseless smear against a democratic nation fighting for survival. Now, thanks to ICE’s decisive action, this provocateur’s days of sowing discord appear to be numbered.

March 4, 2025 New York Post – WASHINGTON — The Obama administration “systematically derailed” an FBI probe into Iranian terrorists — with then-Secretary of State John Kerry “personally” interfering to block arrests to score a nuclear-weapons pact with Tehran, show newly released bombshell emails.
Newly released unclassified FBI communications from 2015 and 2016 reveal how officials in then-President Barack Obama’s Justice and State departments stopped federal agents from enforcing US sanctions on Iran and set up “a shadow amnesty program that protected scores of additional Iranian criminals.”
The covert effort included the abandonment of “dozens of Iran-related investigations” by the FBI and related cases by federal prosecutors “after recognizing the State Department and DOJ obstruction would thwart effective enforcement efforts,” whistleblowers’ disclosures say.
“Secretary of State [Kerry] personally told DOJ officials that they were to stand down on an arrest,” a disclosure stated, directly contradicting his sworn testimony to Congress in July 2015 that Iran was being “restrained” from implementing its missile programs.
At the same time, Kerry’s State Department was negotiating and would later sign onto the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, known as the Iran nuclear deal.

“Kerry and the State Department sold out the safety of Americans and our allies when they provided $1.7 billion in cash to Iran which, unsurprisingly, Iran used to continue development of their weapons programs and to better equip and fund their proxies,” the whistleblowers said.
“The death and destruction seen on October 7, 2023, [in Israel] is only one of the tragic results from providing this cash to Iran and from the State Department, DOJ leadership, and FBI Director Comey systematically obstructing Iranian investigations and prosecutions for years,” the documents say.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who chairs the Senate’s Judiciary Committee, released the whistleblower disclosures after a lengthy investigation, saying his findings revealed “chilling evidence the Obama-Biden administration jeopardized our national security and demoralized the morale of FBI agents who were working to keep Americans safe.”
The Judiciary chairman said the re-election of President Trump would bring about a return to normal enforcement procedures and “restore American strength on the world stage and hold Iran accountable for its evil acts.”
During the Obama years, FBI officials became so concerned with the obstruction of their investigations into agents of Tehran that they took their worries to then-US Attorney General Loretta Lynch — who also refused to take action, according to the whistleblowers.
“We are all beside ourselves on asking the field to stand down on a layup arrest, however as it stands right now we all have to sit back and wait until all the US and Iran negotiations resolve themselves,” bureau official Louis Bladel wrote in a July 3, 2015, email, days before the JCPOA was signed.
State Department official Samantha Boyer slammed the administration for thwarting enforcement operations even after the deal, saying in a March 1, 2016, email: “[I]t’s a little like WTF that [an arrest is] being held up (if you’ll excuse the phrasing). However it is what it is.”
Others such as FBI official Stacey Moye discussed compiling evidence of the administration’s interference “should there ever be a special investigation/hearing etc. on why FBI could not action law, and potentially prevent [a] national security incident.”
That Dec. 17, 2015, email was sent to DOJ lawyer Jay Bratt, who served as chief of the counterintelligence and export control section in the National Security Division.
Bratt resigned in January of this year after working on the cases brought against Trump by special counsel Jack Smith.
Reps for Obama did not respond to a Post request for comment. Kerry could not be reached for comment.
DHS Cancels TSA Collective Bargaining Agreement Sundance
March 8, 2025 The Last Refuge – The Dept of Homeland Security, led by Secretary Kristi Noem, has ended the collective bargaining agreement with the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).
The TSA has approximately 47,000 employees represented by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). The Dept of Homeland Security is ending the union bargaining agreement, paving the way to streamline the TSA and eventually privatize airport screening.
Transportation Safety Officers (TSOs) are not happy with the decision by DHS and leftist politicians are obviously aligning themselves with the union representation. Anyone who has recently experienced TSA conduct in airports will likely attest to the need for accountability which is severely lacking due to union representation.
MSM – The Department of Homeland Security said Friday it is ending the collective bargaining agreement with the union representing thousands of frontline workers with the Transportation Security Administration, a decision the TSA union called an “unprovoked attack.”
In announcing the decision, DHS criticized the union — which represents worker responsible for screening airline passengers — claiming TSA employs more people working full-time on union issues than those “performing screening functions at 86% of our airports.”
[…] “This action will ensure Americans will have more effective and modernized workforces across the nation’s transportation networks,” Homeland Security said in a statement. “TSA is renewing its commitment to providing a quick and secure travel process for Americans.” (read more)

March 4, 2025 – A new report has revealed former President Barack Obama’s administration ordered far-left “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) ideology to be made a priority in the criteria for the hiring of critical air traffic control (ATC) employees.
While the left is quick to blame President Donald Trump for the uptick in recent plane-related crashes and incidents, the real blame should be on the policies that led to the hiring of air traffic controllers who might not have made the cut otherwise.
According to the Daily Mail, the best and brightest air traffic controllers were likely swept aside in the name of DEI.
The report revealed that under the Obama administration, the questionnaire for ATC applicants was secretly skewed to favor DEI initiatives.
The form was “secretly” meant to favor DEI applicants in what the outlet described as a “bizarre” application.
Under the policies, highly qualified and experienced candidates were rejected due to the color of their skin, gender, or sexuality.
Instead of the most skilled and smartest applicants taking the helm in towers across the United States, which is paramount to airline safety, the Obama administration placed DEI at the top of the priority list.
In many cases, underqualified candidates were employed for key positions because they helped meet a quota for DEI hires.
The test was scary, to say the least.
In addition, the program placed emphasis on random qualities while ignoring key criteria such as experience in the job.
Potential applicants didn’t need much in the way of aviation knowledge, but an emphasis was placed on those who “need a great deal of time to complete assignments” and “take chances very often.”
Making matters worse, emphasis and priority were placed on candidates who played multiple sports in high school and less priority on those who previously held ATC positions in the military.
The Daily Mail noted
“The 2014 entry test proved notoriously hard to pass for elite, mostly white college graduates who excelled in traditional cognitive tests.
“But race reformers said it paved the way for more ‘off the street’ hires – namely women and minorities – to land high stakes jobs responsible for the lives of millions of air passengers.”
One aviation expert told the outlet, “Bonkers is the right word for this.”
They added, “It’s absolute madness to think that you want to hire someone who takes a lot of chances to be an air traffic controller.”
The Daily Mail noted:
“The test comes to light as the Federal Aviation Administration grapples with a public safety crisis after a spate of deadly crashes and collisions that President Donald Trump has blamed on DEI hiring.”
