I have alluded in a previous post to the eye-opening video I first saw after the Crash of 2008, when for the first time I turned my attention to learning about economics, and monetary theory and history.
The video was the 1994 presentation before a live audience by G. Edward Griffin of the contents of his ground-breaking book, The Creature From Jekyll Island, the story of the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913.
My jaw dropped when I first viewed this video. The experience changed everything about how I viewed money, currency, precious metals, and many other aspects of our modern life.
I have since downloaded and mirrored the video on my YT channel, but surprisingly for me, had neglected to link to it here in the Kraken. This post corrects that oversight.
If this information is old-hat to you, you might still benefit from a refresher. But if you’d never learned the true story behind how the Federal Reserve System (and its kissing cousin, the IRS) came to be, passed by Congress in the dead of night over Christmas break back in 1912 and implemented in 1913, you should definitely give this video a spin and pay close attention. You’ll never look at money the same way again!
