In a clear message to Iran, the exercises will focus on striking long-range targets as well as mid-air refueling. While the U.S. and Israeli militaries are cooperating closely, President Biden slammed Israel’s government yet again in comments over the weekend. Is Biden heading for a major diplomatic dust-up with Benjamin Netanyahu and will that jeopardize Israel’s security? Watch now!

Ben-Gvir to Biden: The Land of Israel is ours, we won’t compromise on it

National Security Minister responds to US President’s claim Israel’s government the most extreme ever on Judea and Samaria.

Jul 10, 2023, 4:21 PM (GMT+3) – National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir spoke at an event honoring the Chabad movement in the Knesset today (Monday), during which he responded to the latest criticism of the Israeli government by US President Joe Biden.

“The things that US President [Joe] Biden said yesterday, the US is a wonderful friend to us and we love [the Americans]. But I say from here to President Biden: The Land of Israel is for the People of Israel, according to the Torah of Israel,” Ben-Gvir said.

“We will not compromise on the Land of Israel, we will not compromise on any hilltop or on any outpost. It is ours,” he added.

Turning to the issue of the government’s efforts to pass judicial reform legislation, Ben-Gvir said that not only should the bill restricting the court’s use of the reasonableness standard, which is set to be advanced today, be passed, but so too should the bills reducing the powers of the attorney general and changing the composition of the judicial selection committee.

“All these things will bring governance, security, and victory to the people of Israel,” he said.

Netanyahu to keep Ben-Gvir from dealing with PA

The Prime Minister will not allow Itamar Ben-Gvir to join the discussions on concessions to the Palestinian Authority.

Jul 10, 2023, 9:48 AM (GMT+3) – Prime Minister Netanyahu intends to distance Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir from any involvement in the issue of possible concessions for the Palestinians as part of the cabinet’s decision to prevent the collapse of the Palestinian Authority, according to Army Radio.

According to the report, after Ben-Gvir voted against the proposal in yesterday’s cabinet discussion, a limited team of ministers is expected to be formed to continue dealing with concessions to the Palestinian Authority – of which Ben-Gvir will not be a part.

Last night the cabinet approved a proposal that does not include practical steps, but it was stipulated that the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister will bring their proposals for discussion before the Cabinet ministers in a follow-up discussion.

The proposal states that “In the absence of a change in the national assessment, Israel will act to prevent the collapse of the Palestinian Authority, while demanding that it cease its anti-Israel activity in the international legal-diplomatic arena, the incitement in its media and education system, the payments to the families of terrorists and murderers, and the illegal construction in Area C.”

[Ed.:  In IINO, it makes no sense that the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir should participate in discussions about the PA.]

Cabinet decides: Israel will work to prevent collapse of Palestinian Authority   Nitsan Keidar

Israel will insist the PA ceases its anti-Israel activity, incitement, payments to the families of terrorists, and illegal construction.”

Jul 9, 2023, 8:46 PM (GMT+3) – Israel’s Diplomatic Security Cabinet voted eight to one, with one abstaining, on Sunday evening to adopt Prime Minister Netanyahu’s proposal concerning strengthening the Palestinian Authority.

The proposal states: “In the absence of a change in the national assessment, Israel will act to prevent the collapse of the Palestinian Authority while demanding that it cease its anti-Israel activity in the international legal-diplomatic arena, the incitement in its media and education system, the payments to the families of terrorists and murderers, and the illegal construction in Area C.”

The rest of the Prime Minister’s proposals to the cabinet were accepted unanimously. According to his proposals, the security forces will continue to fight terror determinedly. The Prime Minister and Defense Minister will propose moves to stabilize the Palestinian civilian situation.

[Ed.: Yes, we must stabilize and fortify those who want nothing more than to kill us! They are some of the best enemies we ever had. And, I am unanimous about this!]

The Operation in Jenin Explained   [33:46]   Caroline Glick

In my Cold Open this week I discuss:

– The IDF operation in Jenin. What is the end goal of the operation and is there limited potential due to the government and IDF not being on the same page?

– The continued assault of government officials at home and abroad by the left as they protest at Haifa port and Ben Gurion Airport

– The impact (or lack thereof) of the departure of Special Envoy to Iran Negotiations Robert Malley on U.S. policy towards Iran.

– Dan Shapiro’s appointment as Special Envoy for the Abraham Accords

Don’t miss the show. You won’t get this analysis of the Middle East anywhere else.

The Limited Potential of the Operation in Jenin   Caroline Glick

07/07/2023 – What can we expect from the Israel Defense Forces’ current operation in Jenin?

According to the IDF, the goal of the operation is to disable the massive terror infrastructure that Palestinian groups have built in the Jenin refugee camp.

Over the past year-and-a-half, due to the policies of the previous government and to IDF support for those policies, the area has become a mini-Gaza. In September 2021, in conjunction with then-Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Central Command head Maj. Gen. Yehuda Fuchs ordered a five-month moratorium on IDF operations in Jenin, in the interest of “strengthening the Palestinian Authority.”

The current operation then is geared towards repairing the damage caused by the policies of the previous government and Central Command. As IDF Spokesman R. Adm. Daniel Hagari explained Monday morning in a spate of television and radio interviews, the purpose of the operation is not to seize control over Jenin or parts of the city. It is not directed against the P.A. It is meant simply to regain the tactical advantage and degrade the capabilities of the terror groups operating in the refugee camp.

Police enforcement at issue as reform opponents plan more disruptions     JOSHUA MARKS

Major Israeli shopping center chain threatens to shut down for Tuesday’s “Day of Resistance.”

(July 9, 2023 / JNS) – The Israeli government is awaiting a response from the attorney general to its inquiry on the state’s enforcement policy as anti-judicial reform protesters gear up for major disruptions on Tuesday.

At the start of Sunday’s Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his coalition would like answers from Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara about the enforcement policy regarding “threats and assaults on elected officials, calls to civil revolt and disobeying the law, blocking roads and illegal strikes.”

How the Israeli Air Force is preparing for multi-arena war   YAAKOV LAPPIN

The IDF’s strategic arm needs to be able to take on rocket and missile bases over the borders and nuclear sites in Iran, all at the same time.

(July 9, 2023 / JNS) – In mid-June, the Israel Defense Forces completed a major

two-week war exercise, dubbed “Firm Hand,” which simulated a multi-arena war starting with Hezbollah and Lebanon and spreading to other locations, including Iran.

The Israeli Air Force played a key role in the exercise, reflecting its centrality as Israel’s strategic arm.

In May, the IAF sent, for the first time, F-16 fighter aircraft to Cyprus as part of the “Blue Sun” exercise, which simulated war with Hezbollah in Lebanon. The drill also saw Israeli intelligence-gathering jets, C-130 transport helicopters, Apache gunships, and special forces on the ground.

The IAF, which is due to have two full squadrons of F-35 fifth-generation jets by 2024, and is due to receive a third squadron in the coming years, is preparing itself for the plentiful security challenges of the 21st century Middle East. Chief among these is the attempt of the Iranian-led axis to surround Israel with a “ring of fire,” and plant missile and rocket bases in civilian areas all around the Jewish state.

In any future full-scale regional war, the IAF will have to be able to both deal with those threats and tackle Iranian nuclear sites and missile bases thousands of kilometers from Israel— all at the same time.

Netanyahu Plans Boosting the Palestinian Authority to the Tune of Billions   By David Israel

20 Tammuz 5783 – July 9, 2023 – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political and security cabinet is expected on Sunday to approve a series of economic benefits for the Palestinian Authority, on the recommendations of the security establishment’s fear of the PA’s financial collapse. Among other things, the cabinet is expected to approve the development of a natural gas field off the coast of the Gaza Strip, industrial areas in Judea and Samaria, the expansion of the Allenby crossing, and tax benefits and debt forgiveness to will help the PA live up to its obligation to pay terrorists behind bars in Israel and their families. Every one of these benefits will cost Israeli taxpayers billions of shekels.

Also: PA VIPs will once again be able to roam undisturbed inside green line Israel.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir expressed a sweeping objection to supporting the PA, because, according to his circle, “there is not a day that they do not incite against Israel, there is not a day that the PA’s education system does not call for the murder of Jews, there is not a day that they do not call for the boycott of Israel. Rewarding them for all of this is an unwise and illogical decision, and at the cabinet meeting he intends to oppose the planned benefits package.”

[Ed.:  That’s exactly why I call it “IINO”…  Perhaps Bibi should give them cluster bombs? Then they could take out the 20% of our population living below the poverty line.]

Police Adopt Ben-Gvir’s Gun Reform Encouraging Citizens to Carry

20 Tammuz 5783 – July 8, 2023 – A major point of contention between Israeli gun owners and the police is that the police almost always automatically take away a citizen’s gun when they use it in defensive situations. The civilians are also typically interrogated under caution. It doesn’t matter if they shot in the air to scare away a terrorist attacking them, or if they killed a terrorist who was committing a massacre, the citizen’s gun was confiscated, often for weeks and even for months.

The issue came to a head in March 2022 when the police confiscated the gun of the civilians who stopped and killed an Arab terrorist who murdered 4 people and wounded 2 more people in Be’er Sheva.

One of the civilian heroes refused to leave the police station until his gun was returned. The police actually threatened to detain him if he didn’t leave. The civilian pointed out that his life was now in danger, as his face, name and home address were publicized, and he would have no way to defend himself from a revenge attack by other terrorists without his personal sidearm.

After much public outcry, the police agreed to return his gun the next day and they would personally escort him safely to his home.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir introduced a new policy change and the police agreed to adopt it. In fact, they did so just a day before the recent terror attack in Tel Aviv, in which a passing civilian killed the terrorist who had just wounded seven people and caused a pregnant woman to lose her baby.

Setting The Record Straight: Part III: “‘From The River To The Sea, Palestine Will Be Free’”   By Alex Grobman PhD.

20 Tammuz 5783 – July 9, 2023 – *Editor’s Note: This is the third installment in ‘Setting The Record Straight,’ the most recent series of articles from Jewish Press Online contributor, Alex Grobman, PhD

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” is a mantra often heard on university campuses throughout the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. It is a call for the total destruction of the Jewish state since the borders of Israel are between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.” [1]

Eliminating Israel is exactly what the Hamas Covenant 1988 proclaims in Article Eleven: “The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. Neither a single Arab country nor all Arab countries, neither any king nor president, nor all the kings and presidents, neither any organization nor all of them, be they Palestinian or Arab, possess the right to do that. Palestine is an Islamic Waqf land consecrated for Moslem generations until Judgement Day. This being so, who could claim to have the right to represent Moslem generations till Judgement Day?” [2]
