Iran ‘hiding thousands of centrifuges’ to build nuclear bomb    Paul Nuki

Tehran’s smuggled uranium and secretive centrifuges mean attacks have not destroyed its capabilities, warns expert

24 June 2025  The Telegraph – Iran has hidden sites housing “hundreds if not thousands” of advanced centrifuges capable of producing weapons-grade uranium, an expert on Iran’s nuclear programme said.

The regime also moved much of its highly enriched uranium to a secret location before the US was able to bomb the Islamic republic’s three known nuclear facilities, they added.

It means Tehran could have all the capabilities to build a nuclear bomb, said Sima Shine, an expert on Iran’s nuclear programme who has worked within the Israeli military establishment for more than 30 years.

“I’m sure they have a hidden place somewhere with some hundreds, if not thousands of centrifuge[s] and they have material all there in several places all over Iran,” Ms Shine told The Telegraph.

She added: “They cannot do anything now, tomorrow, but in the future, they have all the capabilities [to build a bomb]”.

The warning comes as Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, reportedly granted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) full control over defending the country from Israeli strikes and domestic unrest.

“Sepah [the IRGC] now has control over everything in Iran and they are doing a good job with that,” an Iranian official told The Telegraph on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ms Shine said that there was “no doubt” Israeli and US aircraft had inflicted “huge damage” to Iran’s known nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, but that other “secret” facilities almost certainly existed.

The killing of Iranian nuclear scientists and high-ranking military officers had thrown the country’s leadership into “chaos” but still the threat remained, Ms Shine, a former research director at Mossad, added.

“The [known] sites in themselves, for the time being, are not a lot of threat”, she said. “The problem is, as you know, the material and the advanced centrifuges that I’m sure they have somewhere”.

She said that The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had not visited the key facilities in the country for four years, “so I’m sure they have a hidden place”.

The IAEA estimates that Iran has 400kg of uranium concentrated to 60 per cent purity, which would be enough for nine to 10 nuclear bombs if the material were to be enriched to weapons grade, generally said to be 90 per cent.

It is not known what has become of this material after the recent attacks, but there is widespread speculation it was moved ahead of time.

Ms Shine said Iran had signalled as much “some days” before the attacks, saying they were “spreading the material” in order to keep “an important tool in their hands”.

“Not all the places where the material is is known to Israel, that’s what I think, but I don’t know for certain”, said Ms Shine, who served as the deputy head of strategic affairs in Israel’s national security council and at the ministry of strategic affairs, where she was responsible for the Iranian file.

“There were things that we knew before, but once the Iranians decided to change the picture… I’m not sure that everything was detected by the intelligence”.

Ms Shine added that, to some extent, the focus on the 60 per cent material may be a red herring.

Iran has “tons” of uranium enriched to 25 per cent that could also be brought up to weapons grade – around 90 per cent – if they retain the centrifuges to do it, she said.

“They know how to do it … it is nothing they don’t know,” added Ms Shine, who worked with the UK and US on the Iran nuclear deal in 2015 and 2016. She also worked on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed by Barack Obama and unwound by Donald Trump during his first term of office.

A separate source with in-depth knowledge of the issue, who The Telegraph cannot name, was more confident the key “bottlenecks” in the Iranian nuclear program had been dealt with, for the moment at least.

They agreed that much of the enriched uranium was being stored elsewhere, but said those sites were known.

They added that the two main scientific bottlenecks – the enrichment process and the process of making a weapon – had been “significantly damaged” by the strikes and by the killing of many of the scientists involved with it.

The source noted that the Iranian nuclear programme had been running for nearly four decades and that Israel was only 10 days into dismantling it.

“The aim is to get to 100 per cent [destruction],” they said. “Did we get to 100 per cent of the work done? No. But we got already a lot done … degraded it significantly.”

On the issue of Iran having many more centrifuges at other secret locations that were ready to be used, they added: “We have very good intelligence. I don’t say we see everything, but we see a lot.”

The source stressed that the military operation against the Iranian nuclear programme was not over. Israel was continuing to strike Iranian nuclear infrastructure in a bid to completely destroy it.

“We’re working very effectively to do the job, to get the job done as much as possible. Will it be 100 per cent? I hope it will be as close as possible,” they said.

Ms Shine thought the Israeli strikes on Iran would be wrapped up “in the next few days”.

Sunday morning’s US raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, involved more than 125 military aircraft and saw the first use in anger of the GBU-57 bunker buster, said to penetrate 60m underground before exploding.

A total of 14 GBU-57s were dropped in total, with the enrichment plant at Fordow, the primary target.

Satellite images leave little doubt the bombs hit the facility, but it is not known if they penetrated the enrichment halls beneath as they are buried 300 to 500 metres below the surface, according to nuclear experts who have visited.

Fresh Israeli strikes on the approach roads to the Fordow mountain facility on Monday suggest there is not yet full confidence the facility has been completely destroyed.

President Trump initially claimed that the three sites had been “totally obliterated” but Gen Dan Caine, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, said later that “all three sites sustained extremely severe damage and destruction”.

On Monday, Mr Trump posted on Truth Social, claiming that anyone who said the sites had been anything other than “totally destroyed” was propagating “fake news”.

“The sites that we hit in Iran were totally destroyed, and everyone knows it. Only the Fake News would say anything different in order to try and demean, as much as possible,” he said.

Rafael Grossi, head of the IAEA said on Monday that the US bombing probably caused “very significant” damage, but added that no one could yet tell the extent.

He called for his inspectors to be able to return to Iran’s nuclear sites in a bid to “account for” its highly enriched uranium stockpiles.

“At this time, no one, including the IAEA, is in a position to have fully assessed the underground damage at Fordow,” Mr Grossi said in a statement to an emergency meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 35-nation board of governors.

“Given the explosive payload utilised and the extreme vibration-sensitive nature of centrifuges, very significant damage is expected to have occurred,” he added.

Satellite images of convoys leaving all three sites in recent days appeared to support Iran’s claims that it had moved its 400kg stockpile – much of it previously held at Isfahan.

One image, released by Maxar Technologies, a US defence contractor, appeared to show a line of 16 trucks snaking down a road near to the entrance of the Fordow plant, which is concealed with earth and rubble.

Trucks, bulldozers and security convoys appeared to swarm Fordow, with analysts suggesting the image revealed a “frantic effort” to move centrifuges or shielding materials, according to TS2 Space, a Polish defence firm.

Fordow itself was originally a secret project, revealed only in 2009, raising the possibility that there are others, as Ms Shine suspects.

“While Iran’s nuclear programme has clearly been devastated for now – if fissile uranium has not been destroyed or seized – then rebuilding may arise more rapidly than we expect,” wrote Becky Alexis-Martin, a nuclear expert from Bradford University in Monday’s Telegraph.

In the best-case scenario, if Iran’s weapons grade uranium has been destroyed, it will have “uranium mining, milling, processing, and enrichment ahead of them that could take years”.

But the “strategic picture changes dramatically” if this is not the case, she added.

“Iran could rebuild its nuclear weapons programme far more rapidly, even if large enrichment plants have been successfully destroyed, by smaller, covert sites to complete the enrichment process,” she said.

In Iran itself, leadership changes appeared to be under way for the period of the current emergency at least.

The IRGC is growing in power, influence and control, according to one well placed Iranian source. Established after the 1979 revolution to safeguard the Islamic Republic, it operates independently from Iran’s regular army.

According to the official, the Guards effectively “run the country” and are defending it.

On concerns about the missing uranium, the official dismissed any international threat, saying the material is secure and has been relocated for protection.

“Many in top positions do not know where the uranium you’re talking about is,” the official said. “Don’t look for it – it’s safe and poses no danger to anyone.”

Iran also warned that US involvement in the conflict would not benefit Israel and predicted a prolonged war.

“Iran has emphasised that America’s entry into the war will not only fail to save Israel but will lead to conflicts with unpredictable consequences,” reported the semi-official Fars news agency.

“Sources said the US and Israel believed a surprise attack would end the war quickly, but Iran took the initiative and inflicted heavy, irreparable blows on Israel.”

According to the report, Iran believes the war will last between two to six months and has prepared accordingly.

Senior Iranian politicians, including former president Hassan Rouhani and former parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani, have attempted to contact Khamenei to urge direct talks with the US, but their efforts have reportedly been unsuccessful.

In a move to manage public expectations and avoid pressure for a strong retaliation, Iranian officials are downplaying the damage from US strikes on nuclear facilities as “insignificant”.

State television broadcast reports from cities and towns near the targeted facilities to show a sense of normality.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, said the country will remain a party to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty despite US and Israeli strikes on its nuclear facilities, but has suspended diplomatic talks.

He said that Tehran will continue as a “committed member” of the treaty and will “continue to enrich [uranium] for peaceful purposes” within the treaty’s framework.

However, Takht-Ravanchi added that Iran sees no point in continuing negotiations while under attack.

“There is no point in continuing dialogue during ongoing strikes,” he said. “We do not negotiate for the sake of negotiating.”

Mamdani, Schumer, AOC battling for most idiotic response to Trump’s Iran strikes

[Ed.:  Now, we can add Marjorie Taylor Green to the list of imbeciles, She claims that Israel started the war with Iran:  “The Hot War that Israel Started”   I’m not making this up!

June 22, 2025  New York PostBoy is the competition stiff for most idiotic response to Operation Midnight Hammer.

NYC lefty “it boy” Zohran Mamdani is one clear leader of the pack: “Donald Trump ran for president promising to end wars, not start new ones,” the failed rapper posted on X.

And: “Today’s unconstitutional military action represents a dark, new chapter in his endless betrayals that now threaten to plunge the world deeper into chaos.”

Wrong on virtually every count: As the president noted Saturday night, Iran’s been waging war on our country since it seized the hostages back in 1979, through its sponsorship of the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing, its provision of IEDs to slaughter our troops in Afhganistan and Iraq and on to its efforts to assassinate Trump.

By finishing off Tehran’s nuclear program, the prez moved decisively to end Israel’s strikes on Iran by eliminating their target.

And defanging the monsters who run the Islamic Republic is a blow against chaos that opens the door to a brighter future for the entire region.

Naturally, Mamdani’s less-radical rivals for Democrats’ mayoral nomination felt obliged to also condemn Trump, with Andrew Cuomo (Dems’ “it boy” of 2020!) whining about how “Trump went about this without consulting Congress, without consulting the normal congressional officials” blah-blah-blah.

That’s the same approach embraced by most national Democrats, including ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leaders Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer.

Which is beyond pathetic, as all of them are on record praising President Barack Obama’s various unilateral, left-Congress-in-the-dark actions from doing “regime change” in Libya by taking out Moammer Khadafy to his multiple drone assassinations of US citizens such as Anwar Al-Awlaki.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez basically sits in the same camp as Mamdani (her preferred mayoral candidate, of course) with the added filip of claiming Trump’s actions are “absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”

In fact, the US strikes were plainly legal, covered (like Obama’s) by Congress’ open-ended authorizations for presidential force back in 2003 — resolutions that neither party has sought to repeal even when both Houses of Congress are held by the presidential-opposition party.

Yes, it’d be wonderful if the House and Senate were willing to do their duties in matters of war and peace, but instead they’ve chosen not to — and to just carp about the other team’s leadership.

This also means Trump had no responsibility to brief top Democrats in advance of the strikes — and that no word of the coming attacks leaked suggests he was wise to shut them out.

We certainly wouldn’t trust the likes of Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to put the safety of Americans headed into a war zone above his partisan desire to undermine anything and everything Donald Trump is doing.

Let us not forget the international contestants in the idiot sweepstakes: UN Secretary-General António Guterres (last seen thundering that Israel’s strikes on Iran could “ignite a fire no one can control”) denounced Trump’s “dangerous escalation” as “a direct threat to international peace and security” before droning on about supposed “rules of international law.”

That is: He’s still pretending Iran isn’t one of the main threats to other nations’ safety, and that stopping it is somehow an “escalation.”

Russia and China of course condemned the US strikes, but all should note that that’s literally the least they could do to support their ally Iran.

We guess British Prime Minister Keir Starmer can represent the countless fools of Western Europe in the competition, adding to the chorus of clueless handwringing over the supposed “risk of escalation” even as he admitted Iran’s nuke program posed a “grave threat to international security” and called for “a diplomatic solution to end this crisis.”

OK: Tehran should end the crisis by calling it quits on attacking Israel so the Israelis don’t need to keep taking out Iranian missile launchers etc., and by foreswearing any response to the US strikes; it certainly shouldn’t try to close the Strait of Hormuz to global shipping if it doesn’t want half its Navy sunk again (as was its fate the last time it tried that stunt).

No one else can or should offer the Islamic Republic a damned thing except what’s been on the table from the start: Verifiably end your nuke quest, stop attacking other countries (remember its utterly unprovoked strikes on Israel last year) and other nations will leave you alone.

It’s all clear as crystal, even if so many idiots insist on pretending otherwise.

🟥 IRAN THREATENS TERROR ATTACKS INSIDE U.S. AND PLANS MILITIA STRIKES IN IRAQ AND SYRIA IN RESPONSE TO AMERICAN ACTIONS

🕐 June 23, 2025 | 2:15 AM  Israel Realtime

In a disturbing revelation, NBC News reported that Iran sent a direct threat to President Trump ahead of last night’s U.S. strikes. The message warned that if America attacked, Iran would activate terrorist sleeper cells already embedded inside the United States. This communiqué was reportedly delivered to President Trump through an intermediary during the G7 summit held in Canada last week. The threat confirms longstanding fears outlined in U.S. intelligence and Worldwide Threat Assessments, which have for years warned that Iran was working to build and position surrogate terror networks on American soil. The mere fact that such a message was issued is seen by many as an explicit admission by Iran that it is prepared to target American civilians — it was simply waiting for the right trigger.

‼️ Analysts emphasize this is not just a regional conflict; it is a direct threat to American homeland security. The fact that Iran feels confident enough to warn about activating cells inside the U.S. shows how emboldened it has become and reinforces the argument that this conflict involves U.S. national security at its core. The threat reveals Iran was planning to initiate attacks on American soil and only needed a pretext to do so.

⚠️ Separately, The New York Times reported that U.S. intelligence has picked up signals that Iran-backed militias are preparing retaliatory strikes on American military bases in both Iraq and Syria. These actions would be in direct response to the recent U.S. attacks on Iranian targets. There are growing concerns inside the Pentagon that Iran’s proxies may now escalate tensions by opening new fronts against American assets throughout the region, using asymmetric warfare tactics to strike unpredictably.

🔹 In what appears to be a related maneuver, international coalition aircraft have been flying at low altitudes over the western Deir ez-Zor countryside in Syria — a known hotspot for Iranian-backed forces. The increased aerial presence suggests intelligence-based efforts to monitor militia movements, deter potential attacks, or prepare for immediate defensive or preemptive action.

CHILLING: Iran Threatened Trump of Sleeper-Cell Attacks Inside U.S. Ahead of B-2 Airstrikes

June 22, 2025  The Yeshiva World  – In a chilling backchannel warning just days before last night’s airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Tehran reportedly threatened President Donald Trump with domestic terror attacks if the United States launched any offensive action, NBC reports.

The threat, delivered through an intermediary at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada last week, warned of sleeper-cell operatives embedded within the U.S. who could be activated in retaliation. Trump abruptly departed the summit on June 16 to deliberate on military options amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.

Sources include two senior U.S. officials and an individual with direct knowledge of the classified threat, who confirmed that the communique made clear Tehran’s intent to target the U.S. homeland if provoked.

In a statement posted to social media following the overnight strikes, Trump delivered a stern message: “Any Iranian retaliation against the United States WILL BE MET WITH FORCE FAR GREATER THAN WHAT WAS WITNESSED TONIGHT.”

Federal agencies remain on high alert. The Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin today warning that the Iran conflict “is causing a heightened threat environment in the United States.” The alert raised the possibility of terrorist attacks on American soil, especially in the event that Iranian clerical leadership issues a religious edict—or fatwa—authorizing such violence.

The bulletin also outlined concerns over potential Iranian cyberattacks and assassination attempts targeting U.S. officials connected to the 2020 killing of IRGC commander Qasem Soleimani.

Despite struggling previously to carry out major plots on American soil, Iran has long sought to build networks capable of acting when ordered. DHS officials say these threats must be taken seriously amid a volatile geopolitical moment.

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press, Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed the administration is “looking very closely” at the possibility of an Iranian-backed attack within the U.S. homeland.

Vance pointed to national security vulnerabilities tied to the southern border, stating, “We know that some of those people who crossed during the Biden administration were on terrorism watch lists.” He added that there is not yet a “full accounting” of all individuals who may have entered without proper vetting.

A senior European diplomat familiar with Iran’s capabilities warned that Tehran’s reach extends well beyond the Middle East. “The U.S. and its allies believe Iran retains the operational ability to strike American and European nationals abroad—far outside traditional conflict zones,” the diplomat said.

[Ed.:  “Sleeper Cells” are actually camps that have been established across the US.  These camps are located next to towns.  Everybody knows that they are camps, and have known this for the past 30 years.  Yet one cannot find the total number of these known camps in the year 2025!  It must be some kind of secret lest people get accused of Islamophobia?  Never the less, and in any case, the moment these “sleeper cells” awake, they will be taken out.  What I don’t understand is why wait until then?  We waited until the very last minute in Iran, but we mustn’t wait for their proxy soldiers in known camps inside the US.  30 years is long enough to tolerate their presence. They must be taken out, dead or alive, now!  In the universities, in the government offices, education, and everywhere they are already known to be. Furthermore, we don’t have to argue about this in Congress for years and years in order to do this.  They are Iran, metaphorically speaking, and they can be taken out just like the Irani nuke.]

Israel Killed 9 Iranian Nuke Scientists in Their Sleep – Special, Unidentified Weapon Used for Simultaneous Assassinations   By C. Douglas Golden

June 21, 2025

A week after Israel seriously compromised Iran’s nuclear program by wiping out nearly all of its top scientists, details of the surprise attack — albeit sketchy ones — are beginning to emerge.

According to multiple sources, the operation to take out the scientists — a sub-operation within Operation Rising Lion, the name given to the attacks on Iran that began in the early hours of last Friday — was called Operation Narnia, according to numerous sources.

The Jerusalem Post said that the name — taken from the fantasy world in C.S. Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia” books — “reflects the operation’s improbable nature.”

Indeed, the operation managed to wipe out nine out of the top 10 scientists in Iran’s nuclear program: Fereydoun Abbasi, Mohammad Mahdi Tehranchi, Akbar Matlali Zadeh, Saeed Beraji, Amir Hassan Faqahi, Abd al-Hamid Minushahr, Mansour Asgari, Ahmad Reza Davalparki Daryani, and Ali Bakhayi Kathehremi.

All nine scientists were sleeping in their beds when they were killed; Israel decided to time the operation at night and simultaneously so there would be no time to tip off the others.

The tenth scientist was killed shortly thereafter in subsequent strikes on Iranian leadership and the country’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.

The news was originally reported by Hebrew-language Israeli television station Channel 12, which the Times of Israel said learned the scientists “were killed using a special weapon whose details were barred from publication.”

The 10th nuclear scientist was killed shortly after the other nine, as part of the overnight Thursday-Friday Israeli operation, which included strikes on Iran’s ballistic missile program and the Natanz nuclear site, along with the elimination of top members of the Islamic Republic’s military leadership, the network says.

The nuclear scientists were all killed while they were sleeping in their beds, with Israel deciding to carry out the assassinations simultaneously so that there wouldn’t be time to tip off those being targeted.

The scientists apparently believed they were safe from such targeting in their homes, a senior Israeli official tells Channel 12, noting that previously assassinated nuclear scientists were killed while heading to their cars after work.

It’s unclear what methods the Israelis used to kill the scientists, but the Jewish state has shown remarkable ingenuity in tracking down its enemies and catching them in situations where they’re unaware of the danger.

Perhaps the best recent example of this was the operation which used explosive pagers to eliminate much of Hezbollah’s leadership structure in a scheme carried out last autumn.

Israeli intelligence went so far as to license and build a pager with the plastic explosive pentaerythritol tetranitrate — better known as PETN, one of the components of the bomb that took down Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988 — and create an elaborate backstory for the pager model ordered by Hezbollah leadership.

According to Reuters, the Lebanese-based terror organization had switched to pagers after it realized that Israel had infiltrated its cellular networks. That attack killed at least 40 people.

It’s unclear whether that weapon is similar to the weapon used in Operation Narnia or if a different strategy was employed to kill the scientists.

However, Channel 12 reported that the Iranian scientists had been tracked for years by Israeli intelligence; the decision to eliminate them was made last November.

“Israeli intelligence officials felt that the killing of the nuclear scientists was the most important part of Operation Narnia because the military leadership and equipment killed would be more easily replaceable, while the knowledge held by the nuclear scientists would take much longer to ascertain, the network said, citing an unnamed senior Israeli official,” the Times of Israel reported.

Israel has also leveraged the attacks as part of its information warfare against Iran, sending a message from the Israel Defense Forces’ social media account in Persian saying that senior regime officials were privately pleading with them not to turn the country into Gaza or Lebanon after the initial set of attacks.

That tactical edge also helped when Iran struck a building that belongs to the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. “Iran claims to have attacked a Mossad building with missile strikes,” the post read. “Fortunately, no one was there … everyone is in Iran.
