Nepal Tried To Censor The Internet. The People Set Parliament on Fire. Christina Maas
The government found itself answering to the voices it tried to erase.

September 9, 2025 Reclaim The Net – If you were looking for a tutorial in how not to govern, Nepal’s ruling class has generously offered a new lesson plan.
Step one: shut down social media because it makes you feel insecure. Step two: pretend the resulting nationwide meltdown is a fluke. Step three: watch your approval rating turn into a riot and your parliament building go up in flames.
What began as a bureaucratic tantrum over unregistered apps spiraled, almost immediately, into a full-blown generational uprising.
The uprising kicked off when Nepal’s Ministry of Communication had the bright idea to demand that social media companies register under new regulations, rules so vague they could have been written by someone trying to criminalize sarcasm.
When the platforms didn’t register, the state did what all cornered bureaucrats do: they pulled the plug.
The geniuses in Kathmandu decided that banning Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and WeChat, because they would not censor, would somehow bring digital order to the country.
Instead, they triggered the kind of public explosion normally reserved for collapsing currencies or rigged elections.
It’s important to make clear that the social media blackout may have lit the match, but the country was already soaked in gasoline. For most of the people in the streets, the platform bans weren’t the whole problem. They were the final insult.
The real list of grievances reads like a greatest hits album of government failure. Start with corruption, a national tradition at this point. The 2017 Airbus deal, where Nepal Airlines managed to misplace $10.4 million in public funds without even delivering entertaining excuses, became a case study in how to lose money in government without really trying. No one went to jail. No one even got demoted. But the public remembered. They always do.
Then there is the economy, or what’s left of it. Officially, youth unemployment hit 20 percent in 2024. Unofficially, it’s worse, depending on how you define “employment” and whether you count selling SIM cards on a sidewalk as a career. One in every thirteen Nepalis works abroad just to keep their families from sinking, sending back enough remittances to prop up a government that thanks them with platitudes and zero policies.
For young people still stuck in Nepal, the message has been clear: there is no future here unless your dad is on a party committee. The government hasn’t so much failed to create jobs as it has outsourced hope entirely.
Add to that the political circus. Since 2008, when the monarchy was finally shelved, Nepal has cycled through 14 different governments. Not one of them finished a full term. The entire concept of political continuity in the country has been reduced to a punchline. Voters aren’t even surprised anymore. They just check the news to see who’s getting fired this week.
And when the people want to speak out and air their grievances, the government tries to censor the social media platforms. That was a big mistake.
Police are struggling to contain the protesters.
By Tuesday morning, the government caved. Access to all 26 banned platforms has been restored. Officials framed it as a thoughtful policy revision. Everyone else recognized it for what it was: a full-speed backpedal from a policy that went up in smoke the moment it hit the street.
Nobody outside the ruling class was surprised when the blackout turned ugly. What was surprising was the speed and scale of the blowback. By Monday, Kathmandu looked like a city prepping for regime change. Crowds breached a security post near Parliament.
Protesters have taken to the streets in major cities.
Witnesses described scenes of live ammunition mixed with rubber bullets and water cannons. At least 19 people are confirmed dead. Hundreds are injured. Emergency rooms are stacked. The situation is still active.
Eventually, someone in the cabinet remembered what year it was and realized cutting off Instagram might not be the win they thought it was.
And what exactly are these “demands”? According to the kids holding the line in the streets, it’s not just about the apps anymore.
They want resignations. Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli was at the top of the list, trailed closely by a conga line of officials accused of corruption and a fondness for authoritarian stunts.
The Prime Minister did resign, with no clear successor in place, shortly after his home was torched by protesters.
The outrage didn’t stay bottled up in Kathmandu, either. It spilled out across the country: Pokhara, Chitwan, Janakpur.
Nepali Congress MP Rajendra Bajgain finally emerged to deliver a soundbite: “If the Congress government cannot protect democracy, it must immediately step down.”
But among younger Nepalis, this wasn’t about party politics. This was about basic survival. Social media platforms aren’t luxuries; they’re oxygen. That’s how people earn, learn, and stay connected to relatives wiring home money from Qatar or Malaysia or wherever else Nepali labor is exported to keep the country’s GDP from flatlining.
So when the apps disappeared, so did a lifeline. WhatsApp storefronts went dark. Online tutors were suddenly out of business. Whole families lost touch. And the kids took it personally, because it was personal.
It’s economic sabotage. But it’s also something else: a class marker. Because the people making these decisions, funnily enough, aren’t the ones relying on WhatsApp to get paid or Messenger to call their mom abroad.
A dense crowd of protesters on a city street holding up placards.
A solid chunk of those who charged the barricades on Monday were students who were still in class earlier that morning. Some probably still had homework due.
That’s the level of disillusionment the Nepali state has managed to achieve in an instant: students walking out of chemistry class to take on a censorship system their teachers are too scared to criticize.
Embassies from the US, France, and five other countries released a tidy joint statement reminding Nepal that free expression is still, technically, a thing.
And that brings us back to the big picture. Nepal, which once got a gold star for being the region’s plucky democratic experiment, was trying to join the regional authoritarian club, just without the efficiency.
Since abolishing its monarchy in 2008, the country has bounced between dysfunction and disillusionment like a pinball machine nobody wants to unplug.
This time, though, the government’s attempt to control the conversation detonated. The apps are back, sure. But trust? That’s still offline.
What started as censorship has ballooned into something larger: a hard look at who gets to decide how people live, speak, and survive.
The kids aren’t logging off. And the state, despite reconnecting the internet, may have finally disconnected from its last thread of legitimacy.

EXCLUSIVE: BIDEN’S FRAUDULENT BIDEN AUTOPEN SIGNATURE IS HUGE SAYS SIGNATURE EXPERT by Joe Hoft
A Missouri pharmacist suspects the Biden autopen signature is bigger than already reported.
September 8, 2025
On February 20, 2021 a Missouri pharmacist reached out to The Gateway Pundit and shared his observations on Biden’s signature to date. (This was only a few weeks after Biden stepped into the White House and no doubt one of the first observations on Joe Biden’s signature on official documents.)
This pharmacist noted:
I am a pharmacist in Missouri. I read a few days ago that none of Biden’s Executive Orders have been posted to the Federal Register, so I looked, then, a few days ago. Those Executive Orders are showing up. However, I believe I have accidentally discovered his signature may be a forgery. I just sat on this discovery, thinking someone else more important would notice it. I guess no one has yet.
Part of my job as a pharmacist is to watch for forged doctor signatures and I am pretty sure Joe’s are forged. I suspect that he is embarrassed by his shaky signature and had his wife sign for his signature stamp used for official business. As you can see on the attachment the last three signatures are identical, indicative of a stamp, and that’s fine as long as it is his signature. Maybe that’s easier to submit to the Federal Register. Otherwise, I believe it is illegal to have someone else sign for a signature stamp that binds a legal document. I have seen the signature of doctors get shaky at the end of their careers, but never change in a single year as Joe’s purportedly has done.
If you have contact with a handwriting expert, perhaps you can have that person take a look. But look at the attachment I created, all from the public domain. Clearly, Joe has an established signature, but the last three signatures I have on the document are from separate Executive Orders that can be found online at the Federal Register. Clearly, in my opinion, they are not his signature. They look more like the signature of his wife, Jill, also on the attachment. Focus on the “B” in Biden. Perhaps an expert can offer a more definitive opinion.
This same pharmacist shared some more information regarding Biden’s signature on June 28, 2025, which is shocking. See highlighted comments below:
I am a retired pharmacist/drug store owner and have spent more than 50 years reviewing handwritten prescriptions in part to insure there are no fraudulent doctor signatures. Now, most prescriptions are digital and the signatures are also digital, but I still gained the ability to recognize authentic, live signatures during my career as a pharmacist. I first noticed the Joe Biden signature at the Federal Register was likely fraudulent in early 2021. I was watching for the first ones to be submitted because I doubted whether or not he was coherent even then. So I did a little research and I concluded Joe Biden has always had a distinctive signature and none of those signed with Autopen are his true signature, I am certain of it.
As background, I have watched doctor signatures progress/digress as they age for many years. In a small town I could recognize the signatures of the doctors and also individual nurse’s working on behalf of doctors. I could tell who specifically signed the prescription, be it the doctor or specific nurse. It’s not uncommon for signatures to change, but usually it is just a matter of getting a little shaky as people age. However, the signatures don’t change in a wholesale manner then revert back at some point, even with dementia, as Biden’s purportedly did. Some doctors develop dementia as well.
I think Jill Biden signed at least one or more of the signatures for the Autopen. You can look at the [TGP] article from 2021 and see her signature along with Joe’s. It appears she stepped in for Joe for some reason and signed for the Autopen. Maybe his signature was shaky, I don’t know, but the Autopen signatures are not his. Concentrate on the “B” in Biden. Joe draws a line then makes more or less a 3 for the rest of the B. Jill starts at the bottom then goes up and makes a small loop at the top and a larger loop below for her B. That “B” is what is on the Autopen signatures. Even the straight line in the “J” for Joe is different from Joe’s established signature as opposed to the Autopen signature. You will see it if you look.
From what I can see, there were 3 separate signatures used with the Joe Biden Autopen during his tenure, but again, none were his established signature. However, the live signature on Joe’s resignation letter on July 21, 2024, when he dropped out of the campaign, is authentic in my opinion. So is his signature on his pardon for Hunter Biden, even though he was shaky with that one and messed up his B, but it is still consistent with his established signature, not Jill’s.
If you will study the information I sent to The Gateway Pundit back in January 2021, [see the link above] you will see what I am talking about.
The concise point here is: it appears Joe Biden had a consistent signature before he was President, then different ones during his presidency, and then reverted back to his original signature when he resigned and signed Hunter’s pardon. That never happens in my experience.
Facsimile laws do not allow for a forged signature to bind a legal document. That is the issue here and while the Autopen alone is a big thing and worth prying into insofar as who was controlling it, the larger issue is it was never legitimate with the signature of Joe Biden, but a forgery.
I know everyone is busy. But if you think about it, a forgery is much worse than a fuzzy authorization for use of the Autopen. The two combined are devastating. I hope you see the distinction. Again, I suggest an established signature expert look at it.
“When I first contacted Jim in 2021, I thought maybe I could head off a Constitutional crisis; now I think there is one.”
This weekend this expert shared the following:
I have searched exhaustively and can find no instance of Joe Biden signing his signature as it appears on the Autopen. But the Autopen “B” in Biden is consistent with how Jill Biden signs her signature. Joe draws a line starting at the top and adds basically a 3 to make his B. Jill Biden starts and the bottom a goes up to make two loops, a smaller one at the top and larger at the bottom, all in a single continuous line, for her B just as with the Autopen signature. A forgery nullifies the Autopen according to facsimile signature laws I have studied as does unauthorized use.
The problem with only going after the unauthorized use with the Autopen signature for pardons is there is precedence for a President to make an oral pardon. Abraham Lincoln did it. Joe could say he verbally approved the pardons if someone tells him to say that. But that can’t be done on matters requiring a valid signature, such as Presidential approval of laws. That’s why the probable forgery is huge.
As a reminder, the only two signatures during the Biden presidency that look legitimate to me are his resignation letter during the campaign and then upon his pardon of Hunter Biden. Again, people just don’t switch back and forth from their established signatures like Joe purportedly did. I’ve never seen it and have spent a lifetime looking at signatures in my work as a pharmacist.
It appears no one really cares or understands about the forgery of the Autopen signature. I think it must be too big for anyone to want to tackle.
This is huge.

Prime Minister Francois Bayrou has been ousted by the National Assembly in a no-confidence vote
8 Sep, 2025 17:01 HomeWorld News – The French government has fallen after Prime Minister Francois Bayrou lost a crucial confidence vote in parliament on Monday. Bayrou is the second consecutive prime minister under President Emmanuel Macron to be ousted, throwing the nation into political and economic turmoil.
A no-confidence motion in the National Assembly requires at least 288 votes to pass. Monday’s motion received 364 votes, with the left-wing New Popular Front and the right-wing National Rally uniting in opposition to end a months-long standoff over Bayrou’s austerity budget.
Having previously survived eight no-confidence motions, Bayrou called this vote himself, in a bid to secure backing for proposals that forecast almost €44 billion ($52 billion) of savings to ease France’s debt burden before the budget is presented in October.
The prime minister, who has repeatedly warned that France’s national debt poses a “mortal danger” to the country, appeared to acknowledge his fate. In a bitter remark on Sunday, Bayrou lashed out at rival parties that he said “hate each other” yet joined forces “to bring down the government.”

Bayrou is the second French prime minister in succession to be brought down following Michel Barnier’s ejection last December after just three months in office – and the sixth to serve under Macron since he was first elected in 2017.
Bayrou’s ouster reportedly leaves the French president to choose between appointing a Socialist prime minister to steer a budget through parliament, effectively ceding control of domestic policy, or call snap elections that polls suggest favour Marine Le Pen’s National Rally. With Macron’s approval ratings already hitting historic lows, either choice risks further weakening his presidency. Analysts warn that if markets lose confidence in France’s ability to rein in its deficit and mounting debt, the country could face turmoil reminiscent of the UK during the brief Liz Truss premiership.
Public discontent with Macron’s leadership has deepened, with the latest Le Figaro poll showing nearly 80% of French no longer trust the president. Thousands marched through Paris at the weekend demanding Macron’s resignation and carrying placards reading ‘Let’s stop Macron’ and ‘Frexit.’

Tucker Carlson Under Fire After Claiming Hamas Gets Bad Rap
September 7, 2025 Jewish Breaking News
Tucker Carlson went off the deep end again on Saturday, this time by suggesting Hamas seems “more like a political organization” than a radical jihadist group that orchestrated the deadly Oct. 7 massacre against Israel.
The former Fox News host made the controversial comments while discussing Israel’s recent strike on Gaza’s only Catholic church that killed three people, to which Carlson argued that if Hamas were truly an Islamist extremist group, the presence of Christian casualties” prove” Israel was targeting civilians indiscriminately.
“No one can possibly claim that a Christian family are in Hamas. OK, so what, tell me — You can’t claim they’re in Hamas while simultaneously claiming that Hamas is a group of jihadis. They’re Islamist extremists, which they also claim. Constantly. I don’t know if that’s true, by the way. Seems more like a political organization,” he said.
“But whatever it is, they’re telling us constantly that they’re Al-Qaeda. So, it can’t also be true that Christians are a member of Al-Qaeda. So, then, we know they’re not in Hamas, so why did they get killed?”
His comments quickly sparked outrage from Carlson’s former conservative allies, with some questioning whether he had completely abandoned mainstream Republican positions on terrorism.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed his frustration on X, posting: “Now, @TuckerCarlson doesn’t know if Hamas is a terrorist organization. (‘Elmo is just asking questions….’) What the hell happened to Tucker?? He’s turning into Ilhan Omar.”
Mark Levin, who once worked with Carlson at Fox News, took to calling his former colleague “Qatarlson” and posted: “Qatarlson doesn’t know if Hamas is a terrorist group.”
Carlson’s Hamas comments represent the latest in a series of increasingly anti-Israel positions since his departure from Fox News. In July, Carlson called for stripping U.S. citizenship from Americans who previously served in the Israel Defense Forces, claiming “You can’t fight for another country and remain an American, period.” He has often criticized both President Trump and Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson for their support of military aid to Israel.
Earlier this year, Carlson launched what critics described as a “two-pronged assault” on American Christian support for Israel, featuring Palestinian Christian pastor Munther Isaac who promoted anti-Israel narratives on his show. He has also drawn criticism for comparing Ukraine’s Jewish president Volodymyr Zelensky to a “rat” and for giving airtime to Holocaust denier Darryl Cooper, whom he praised as a “historian.”
