February 19, 2023 9:35 am – Love him or hate him, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva is one of the most consequential Brazilians of the 20th-21st century. As he begins his third presidential mandate, Lula once again steps into the world’s spotlight in a big way.

Dirt to Soil: A Journey Into Regenerative Agriculture   [1:01:10]   Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola

February 19, 2023 – It may have ancient roots but it’s been dormant for so long that it’s brand new for most people today. The trend is growing like gangbusters, doubling every year. Give it what it needs, and nearly every other health and environmental problem takes care of itself, so you get what you need.

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • The challenge facing most farmers today is that conventional agriculture has decimated the topsoil with tilling and synthetic fertilizers, which disrupt and destroy the microbial life necessary to grow nutrient-dense food
  • Mycorrhizal fungi grow in healthy soils and are responsible for nutrient transfers between plants and soil biology. The most critical thing in a plant’s life is its relationship with mycorrhizal fungi, which is why tillage and synthetic chemicals should be avoided
  • The five basic principles for building a healthy soil ecosystem are: not disturbing the soil microbiome, protecting the soil surface with cover crops, diversification, maintaining living roots in the ground as long as possible and integrating livestock and insects
  • For change to occur, farmers must decide they want to change, and consumers must demand nutrient-dense foods produced in a regenerative manner that benefits the ecosystem as a whole
  • The farm program keeps farmers trapped in the conventional model, which destroys soil — an essential resource — and locks them into a monocrop system with dwindling financial returns

[Ed.: Although this is true, the government has been spraying the land with aluminum, graphene oxide, barium, strontium, manganese, polymer fibers, ice nucleation elements, and more every day for the past 40 + years. Water is already so toxic that you cannot eat fish caught in any waters!  In order to save the soil, mankind must stop killing the land from this and Big Ag poisons. Dane Wigington at Geoengineeringwatch.org says that we’re already too late for that; well past the point of no return…]
